Why Girl Gamers Are Bad At PRO eSports? - just MY opinion #8

Its not that girls are bad at games....they just cant reach the highest level yet. And the reason for that is simple...there is not enough women playing League of Legends or other competitive video games that would allow us to find and cultivate exceptional talent. England and Germany on average have some of the best football players and Brazil consistently produces top talent too. Thats because those countries have a nationwide culture of developing and training kids...thousands of them. Thats the same reason Korea dominates in eSports because games like Overwatch and StarCraft 2 have become national sports and the sheer volume of people who play allows coaches and companies to scout amazing natural talent and nurture it.
The women talent pool in games is so small its very hard to push them beyond that threshold. Its like 10,000 people applying for 1 job position and there only 10 women applying for it.
Statistically the odds of a woman being picked are low....and thats why girls cant reach that level yet....there barely girls at Grand Master level just on ladder in most games. So how will we fill entire team rosters and send them chasing world championship gold?
Its simple mathematics if we had the same amount of women interested in playing professionally then by natural selection over-time we would discover and develop that god-like tier of game skill. As things stand now there are just a few girls who pushed themselves and reached certain heights alone but thats not enough to carry the entire gender.
We have female TOP streamers, KZbinrs and Influencers...they can be the best but that only applies if they want to do it And girls simply dont really care about playing PRO eSports which is something that nobody really talks about and everytime i see videos on the subject to me it sounds a bit sexist when i hear that girls cant compete with the boys. Yes they can, they just dont even do it. From all sports, videogames is the one area where we can absolutely have cross-gender competition because there is no inherent advantage to being men/woman.
The only thing stopping this from happening is pure lack of interest.

I think girls can actually participate in Esports, but they should compete against guys who has the same skill level as them.

20 years proved that they're still not there at all except boosted (quietly) and flexing but most average skilled players above knew. Noobs below average will still think the girls are "good" but their mostly boosted in streams or offline ways. It's a shame reality though.

my opinion is basically the same but also that there's the added factor where making a living off games can be done by monetizing a woman's body much more easily than practicing to a professional level of skill. look at this influx of twitch streamers... it's really sad and i hope that there's more girls exhibiting greater talent in esports soon

This is just an opinion from someone who has been at the top 0.5% of games like Overwatch and Valorant in Grand Master and D3/Imm (Games that have a very healthy female player base in general, but not so much at higher levels), It's all biological. Men are more aggressive, competitive, and want to actually win and will put in a ton of time to do it(blame testosterone, it's what makes us always wanna be #1). Women tend to somehow default to more supportive or side-lined roles and don't seem to have the same drive / urge to win or be #1. Men will spend hours upon hours trying to increase their own performance by even a fraction of a percent while women seem to not hunger for improvement as much. I've coached some lower Elo players in both games and (though most people seeking a coach are male) I did notice a large disparity between female players seeking help and male players seeking help. Male gamers will grind their mind out to see a miniscule improvement while female gamers I have tutored approach learning video games like it's beneath them. Of course this isn't true for every male or female gamer, it's just a generalized observation I have made based on those who seek guidance. At the end of the day, men are very competitive and are willing to sacrifice their ego for improvement even if they need to beg on their hands and knees, while female gamers seem to think improvement is not worth their time and that everything they want should just happen overnight. I really don't know how to explain it without sounding like a sexist jerk, but it happens more often than not...

thinking about it, what you're saying is actually right and this is coming from a girl. you dont sound sexist! ive actually experienced it myself. i play very competitive video games on a daily basis (i have a very competitive personality and they stand out to me and give me the adrenaline rush i need) and ive noticed my competitiveness is fluid based on my monthly cycle. period = more testosterone, less estrogen. i find myself raging and almost breaking everything in sight if i lose or perform bad around that time of the cycle. now im ovulating = highest estrogen level and lowest testosterone level you'll have in your cycle, and i haven't raged once today. sure, i've gotten annoyed, but it didn't seem to affect me as much and i kind of accepted some rounds of bad performance. sorry to be wayy too specific and personal, but instead of blaming everything on sexism, we should look at it from a biological standpoint. so i completely agree

@Darkness well it good be both you pick up things easy, or yes biologically. remember men are more competitive they have faster reaction time more aggressive more patience and its not only e-sports that guys are just better at, its also sports in general like a college basketball team (males) vs a womens nba team (WNBA) the guys won and thats because were bigger stronger and faster

i'm a girl. a few years ago i stayed with my cousins for a holiday. we played street fighter 4 together. my male cousins were the only ones who were able to beat the boss at the end. back then i was 13. my 8 year old cousin beat the boss once. so i got the game on my ps4 at home and trained a bit but i realized that my reaction time was crap. i searched for how to improve it online and i found out that i couldn't. so i gave up. i did manage to beat the boss and improve a bit but i was only playing so that i could beat my cousins. when i found out that i couldn't, there was no reason to train if i could never achieve a payoff.

Tbh , I've received these eSports offer long time before , most of them just need a small requirements for your rank and skill , comparing with guys requirements ...they need a high rank and veteran players with skill. Sometimes it made me think, eSports girls requirements are basics as long as you have the looks but it's Diffrence when it comes to guys .

I have changed my opinion, from self experience and from watching streamers on twitch. Male or female, I thought that it doesn't matter, but after all the years all I see that women are simply not competitive. I don't know why, there are no good explanations here. Reaction time is pretty much the same on average, yes... there are small differences regarding spatial imagination, but all that is not enough to explain the obvious fact.

Talent still dsnt matter without practice(its just like a multiplier), so its possible to have max role on everything but achive nothing. And Scarlett biologically a male human even if she is a woman now.

Men simply have faster reflexes and have a different wired brain than women for competition. Genuinely speaking, men are just better at gaming than women within a Competitive environment. Anything else we are equal, I’ve seen plenty of women one-try a dark souls or Elden Ring boss that took me 20 tries, and I’m a seasoned veteran of that franchise lol.

I don't believe this argument stands effectively. The global gender differential is 48/52 percent. Games like LOL, OW, Apex, COD, Valorant each contain MILLIONS of female gamers. To reason that there aren't enough women to appeal to the law of averages doesn't make sense. There are hundreds of millions of girl gamers. The likelihood that of these massive proportions(There are about 1.4 billion female gamers) not a single seasoned female team has ever been born on any platform(not even mobile where the vast majoirty of gamers are) nor has a female won a world championship let alone carried one, cannot be a coincidence. We have to acknowledge sociobiological differences as the cause at this point. Because statistical analysis does not favor your argument as there is an overwhelming likelihood that there is some other internal factor causing a TOTAL absence of female talent in the professional arena and a significantly smaller pool of women at the highest levels of the general communities.

And the ones that do play competitive games do not put in the same insane number of hours needed to master the game. Therefore, in addition to already innately disadvantageous traits, they simply cannot compete on the same elite level.

I once taught a female friend how to play monster hunter properly and she picked up a small pencent of my skill. After that she manage to surpassed some of the lowly skilled male gamers from my stream. When we moved on to play dead by daylight, my female friend have the confident playing as survivor with a team but when she play as a killer by her own she is taken back and doesn't have the same reflexes to attack quicker than we do. I noticed they tend to play with male gamers often than female gamers, when I asked my female friend why and she said that she find it easy to learn and when playing in coop I will constantly keep on reminding her what to do as I can predict the next move animation

Some people can't accept facts and I like how immediately when they pull the girls are just as good argument they immediately go for an FPS game like CSGO or Overwatch (anyone can flick a mouse across the screen precisely if they put in the hours). If you look at some actually challenging games that require things like high consistency, precise and fast inputs and complex strategy (e.g. Osu!, Crypt of the Necrodancer or Super Meat Boy) you find very few top players are female for the reason of all that stuff requires high physical endurance and like it or not girls, we guys have a 100,000+ year evolutionary advantage in that avenue. Exact same reason as to why men and women are separated in some olympic events and not coincidentally the ones that are based around physcial endurance and strength. Also, feel free to correct me on this: I think literally every osu player that can consistently hit streams of 270bpm and beyond is male. PS: you've seriously never wondered why you never seem to see girls playing hardcore indie platformers or fast paced rhythm and instead the majority are playing FPS games?

Game titles are different, one is solo another is 5v5. Even guys are better in most solo to team games. Invalid statement. You can only compare osu! to games related to musics. It's totally a different argument you have there, sadly to say. Oops!

Also, the genre of game is not the point here the point is the necessity to make extremely fast inputs for a prolonged period of time. i think there needs to be a split established as is the case with practically any sport when you are concerning yourself with world class athletes... because history shows there are significant differences in the avenue of stamina and endurance and if they are not accounted for there is no chance of unbiased competition between the two groups of athletes.That way female gamers can get the recognition they deserve rather than them being like a 1 in 500 occurence. At the very least sports are usually mixed doubles and I for sure believe that video gaming is just like any of those sports when it comes to world class talents. If people wanna see. it doesn't matter if you disagree with me... whatever tbh. But at least question why it is that in practically any sport atheletes either compete against their own group (Female vs Female, Male vs Male) or mixed usually as M, F vs F, M but almost never as M vs F or F vs M.

Не съм сексист нито расист и не съм предубеден към личностите на база външни белези, пол и прочие, но фактите са факти и не можем да кажем на черното бяло. Във повечето професионални сфери мъжете доминират, и са много малко професиите, в които нещата са 50/50, като танци, пеене, гимнастика, фигурно пързаляне например. Но други професии, които в ежедневието ги свързваме повече като женски занимания, като например - мода, грим, прически... най-добрите в тези сфери, макар по-голямата част да са гейове, са преди всичко от мъжки пол. Защо е така според теб? Други професии с огромен интерес на женското съсловие като готварство, рисуване и изобщо хуманитарни науки, мъжете доминират с огромен превес. Интересен факт.. Както виждаш не коментирам физическите спортове, защото там разликата е обяснима, но защо и Шах-ът е разделен на мъже и жени? Ами фактите го показват. На повечето смесени състезания, жените биват размазвани.

I don't know if "Patriarchy" is in this dude's vocabulary but he seems to think that it's women's fault we are not in the same positions as men...Yeah...I think that it's definitely us not trying and it has absolutely nothing to do with how our society has been excluding women from everything for thousands of years... When women are not motivated in their careers in eSports it is a problem with the industry not empowering them in the same way they do with men.
