Thank you for making a upgraded part for this engine Dorman put more thought into making a better design than the one who made the car GM just replaced the same flawed part

us the dorman valve cover made with a serviceable part ? I am guessing that orange check valve keeps boost that builds from the turbo from damaging the diaphragm in the valve cover.
@daveg81194 жыл бұрын
Question for Dorman. Is the diaphragm in the valve cover 264-968 for the GM 1.4L engine available to be removed and serviced separately? In this video the technician removes the cap on the valve cover to expose the diaphragm. Assuming this cap is not removable on a replacement part and the part shown in the video was physically cut apart for visual aid purposes?
@DormanProducts4 жыл бұрын
Good morning, You are correct that this was cut apart for visual purposes. We did try to create a repair for this where you only replace the diaphragm, but it proved incredibly difficult to do this without damaging the valve cover

@@DormanProductsthat's the whole reason I bought your shit cover! So I didn't have to replace the whole cover! Just the diaphragm!! Now your telling me you scammed me! I could have just bought OEM?!

GM has a 10 yr/120k mile replacement bulletin for both of these. (10 years from date the vehicle was sold/120k miles. whichever first.) Waiting to get my 14' cruze in this coming Tuesday. They told me the exact same thing, both should be replaced. The cover, intake and labor are included. Now when that fails me at like 145k... I'll probably go with this kit...

Is this information relevant to a 2015 chevy sonic 1.8? I say this because I troubleshooted the valve cover & determined the pcv was bad. After replacing it and fixing the low idle it is using 2 quarts a week in oil with no leaks coming from the valve cover. sounds much like your blow by statement. am I causing damage to the car driving like this? might be a month before I can afford that intake. Thx in advance if you decide to respond.

2017 encore, suctioning air through oil cap-off at idle and run rough, put back cap and run smooth, already replace valve cover, wondering if is normal suctioning air, no check engine lights-codes???
@DormanProducts8 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, it sounds like a PCV issue in the valve cover you have or it could have the issue in the intake manifold that is talked about in this video.

Hi Chris, if your vehicle runs fine with the cap on that is what you want.

Would this cause a p0300 also? Intake hose going to turbo is callapsing due to extreme vacuum.
@DormanProducts Жыл бұрын
Yes, it could cause that also.
@e.miller89433 жыл бұрын
What he is calling the PCV valve is actually the idle air control valve. The PCV valve is also built into the valve cover. On my 2011Cruze, when it failed, the area under the valve cover when from vacuum to positive pressure, causing a massive oil leak. I think that can also cause the idle air valve diaphragm to rupture. I think Chevy improved the valve cover, because I haven't had any more problems.

Do the 1.8L engine have the same connected issue? I have the air issue with my pcv in the valve cover but i dont see any videos that shows the 1.8L intake manifold with that orange check valve to know if i have to change it as well. I only see it for the 1.4L engine. I dont want to buy a new intake manifold if only the valve cover with the pcv needs to change. Please help me.

Hi Dorman. If the GM i take monifold's PCV valve is broken it will cause the oil consumption? And i have to change at the same time the valve cover with intake monifold? You say that the pcv in the intake monifold will never broken yes??
@DormanProducts2 жыл бұрын
There are a few things that can break, but if the valve in the manifold fails, excess pressure can wipe out the valve in the valve cover, and you may find oil leaking from a few places. There's also a valve at the turbo inlet that can fail as well, but the manifold and disk valve in the valve cover are responsible for most problems. Our OE FIX manifold has a redesigned valve that captures the valve so it won't ever go missing again. -L.

This is the main fault with these KZbin vids that offer help for a common but necessary fix to these vehicles. After a certain amount of time and multiple urgent questions for help there is no response. So you are left on your own. Why post the vid I f you don’t follow up on very pertinent questions? Is it just to sell the part and then not offer the customer service necessary? So don’t post if you can’t or won’t.
