I have a question.. will the these moving heads work with the 1st controller if I added dongle receivers? I love the wireless but I also don’t want buy a new one where I can just add wireless dongles that I already have.

@Mdnesseptx No, they will not. There is a dedicated button to activate and you need to make an internal menu change to activate. Also the dongles have their own specific port and size.

Hi Kris, I own the first generation of this controller. Love the ease and flexibility of it. Is the wireless dongle capable of send DMX signal to other transmitters like my wireless uplights ? What would be awesome!

@carlosem6498 The Venue Link transmits and or receives a standard 2.4g signal just like most wireless lights. So if you have lights that work with the tetra control now that are wireless, venue link can also be used.

Hi Kris, I asked the first part of this question on another video. Forgive the duplicate question. How did you mount the bar on the tree? What movers are on the tree? Are these lights bright enough to dj a oarty of 150-200 people?

@billpatterson9361 I use o clamps to w mount things to poles and trees amzn.to/3Jhyg5r. The movers in the video are the Venue Revolver wash and Venue lRevolver laser. If you want the lighting effect for the whole room they would be a bit small. I suggest for smaller events or if you are trying to keep effect to close dance floor.

Kris,I own the gen 1 version of this controller. Besides the wireless, what does the new unit off above the original. Nothing out there that defines what the button for movers does. Can you do a full review breaking down the functions please?

Thanks for watching. As mentioned in the video, the movements for the select VENUE movers (not for OTHER MOVING FIXTURES) has been pre made. There are a number of different movements that will be affected by which chase selection you choose. Some are of a figure 8 movement, some triangle, up down, circle etc.. They are all pre programmed. You can turn them on/off - the speed is affected by speed control which will change speed of everything. A long press will flip the dual movers to use other side of dual sided heads. This is for very simplified control. This unit will NOT work for other moving fixtures.

How is that proprietary interface .... looks like a BNC connector ... better unless you purchase ALL Venue Lighting units. If you have ANY DMX lighting today, it is all XLR and that controller can not work with it UNLESS (I believe you said it in the video) you use the Tetra controller for one unit and then daisy-chain, using XLR (microphone) cables? Do they have a receiver that has the XLR connector?

@discodoug55 All of the lights and the controller have regular dmx ins and outs as well. The Tetra Link sends and receives a regular 2.4g dmx signal just like most wireless dmx. The Controller is compatible withe some other wash light but not moving lights. Have to refer to controller manual and other fixture manuals to see if the profiles and ch selections will work. (I've mentioned this in my first tetra video a few tears ago) I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching. More video info to come.

Hey Kris, got another question for ya; what dmx starting addresses did you use for the revolver wash/laser to get the colors to match?

@fireshadow52 you can check the manual under dmx setting for the tetra 2 controller. This will not work with original tetra control. Set to dmx channel 30 or 41 in 10 or 11 ch model. You may also need to make sure the settings menu is set up correctly for the movers.

Settings Menu To access the Settings Menu, hold down the button while powering on the controller. Here, you can adjust several global settings, including DMX Footprint, Backlight controls and Cycle Rate. Once inside the Settings Menu: 1. Turn the Encoder knob to scroll through the menu functions. 2. Turn the Encoder knob to find your desired setting within a particular function. 3. Press/Click the Encoder knob to confirm your selection. 4. To enter standard controller use, scroll to “Exit” and press/click the Encoder knob. THIS IS ALL IN THE MANUAL. 🤘

@bullpuppy689 unfortunately it can not. It is a specially designed small four pin. It does however send and or receive normal 2.4g signal like most wireless lighting. So you could use a different wireless transmitter and still receive with venue link on its newer lights.

@carlosem6498 Nice work. Just an FYI- it does not work with any wireless light. The wireless signal is the same, but you have to be able to limit the channels to where the profile does not have a master dimmer or strobe. I have similar light to yours that are fine because I can set them to a channel mode that is rgb or rgbaw. I have been fielding questions on this for years after I did the Tetra 1. Happy it works.with yours!
