I am so grateful for your sermons. I have listened to you for year's. My daughter sent this sermon to me and I have listened to it. I too am adopted and my Mother did not want me. I have lived through two attempted abortions and my Mom was angry at times. The wonderful man who adopted me died when I was three year's old. My life was super bad for awhile. However in 2003 I accepted The Lord as my Savior. I began to feel for my Mother and I honored her. She died in 2006 in my arms. It was unexpected. Before she died I had been laying hands on her and I told her that I forgave her and that I loved her. She said that she loved me as well. When I am driving and your sermons come on I feel a comfort. I can't wait to hear what you have to say. God Bless and Thank You

Thank you so very much for bringing truth and clarity to this very important issue. The notion that Christ died only for the elect is utter nonsense and heresy because that’s not what the Bible says. He died for all, but we all have a choice as to what we do with that fact. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12) This verse, as well as many others, makes it clear that a free will choice is a vitally important part of salvation.

Because we will never die in heaven, we will only progress and grow stronger. I believe we will continue to grow older, but in a new way that we have never experienced on Earth. Growing older in a way that only improves on our faculties and capabilities. I highly doubt we'd just grow to a certain age (like 33) then just stay 33 for all eternity.

Please pray for me. I’m struggling in the faith... My wife is 7months pregnant and I’ve never been a dad... I want to teach our son the Truth but I’ve been studying theology and trying the best I can to understand certain things concerning God BUT I CAN’T!! I’ve cut John Piper off because I don’t agree at all with his teaching(or at least HOW he explains what he may be “trying to say/teach..” I have even cut off my x pastor whom I’ve known since a teenager because we had a conversation about John Piper and he was agreeing with him but also claiming that John Piper is not teaching a works based salvation but rather “teaching in accord with sound doctrine.” I do not hold that God awakens some and let’s others die (like most reformed Christians believe) and I don’t think the “dead corpse” analogy is a very good way of describing spiritual deadness... I do not hold to the “extreme sovereignty” view (hyper-Calvinism) and I’m not quite sure about moderate Calvinism but I have to admit that it’s more reasonable and I think is MUUUUCH MORE biblically accurate and within God’s revealed loving character we find in the Bible. I like Leighton Flowers but I realize that I can’t trust any man REALLY. I’d rather listen to someone who does not teach confusing doctrine and make me feel anxious like “what if I’m not elect”or “what if I’m not obedient enough and I’m just deceiving myself that I’m saved?” Why do we suffer for Adam’s choice ect......... question after question. It’s so overwhelming. My blood pressure has gone up. Anyways,I still believe the Truth and I’m not giving up like others because I know Christ my Lord and Savior will pull me through this somehow and I will cooperate however I must. Please pray for me,y’all!

We need to separate what God knows from what we choose. God is Alpha and Omega; declaring the beginning from the end- and everything else in between. He knows who will come, so in that way we are predestined. But, we don’t know. So, we are called to witness and pray for everyone. God still knows who will answer, but it is charged to our reward for believing and acting on the hope for a positive answer for whom we are praying. If this seems too easy and simple, it’s because, just like salvation, we miss it if we over think it....like theologians!

@@SpankyTheSpiderMonkeyDo not check MacArthur's teaching on this! He believes God's plan is to save only those He chooses and damn those He chooses. Chapter 1 of Romans tells us that ALL men have the knowledge of God but some CHOOSE not to acknowledge God and that is why they become hard and wicked. It is man's choice. God desires that all men come to repentance. Beware of the Calvinist teaching.
@graftme31685 жыл бұрын
Once saved, always saved is simple. If you repent and believe, you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who is "the seal of the promise." God promises eternal life because of HIS work, not ours! He promises to "complete the work He started" in us. Either you trust Him to do what He promised or you trust in your own ability. Only by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit can we become what God desires. Jesus already completed the work, and sees the end of our faith. we only see dimly what God is accomplishing in us. But He promises to make us perfect in the end! Whatever is not made perfect here, will be perfected at the end.

@@graftme3168 I felt the power of the holy spirit 5 years ago. I was in a psychiatric ward at the time, yet I know, knew and could not ignore the power and love that filled me. At some point, a leap of faith must be taken. I came home a new man and without a care or worry I gave up myself. Everyone I told came to the conclusion 'ah,..you were insane at the time.....'. But I know what I felt, and it was and is real. I feel each one of us is a church, and each one of us gets a choice. Many hear the call means as I see it from my own perspective, many are given the chance. My test was where this epiphany happened. But the spirit showed me a simple truth, by being forgiven I was shown to forgive others and be the better man that the Lord Almighty showed me I could be more, much more. So I go with his love in my heart and try to keep close what he taught me. I was a full on atheist before this happened, but the results speak for themselves. Not so much born again, but born a new. I don't feel hearing the call is enough, just a moment of courage to show God you hear, and obey. God made it easy for me, so I tell those who I feel can hear the story of my salvation in the hope they can feel his love like I now do. Open your heart to his love, let him guide you. And he will indeed. To be honest, if God gave me this chance, surely he would do the same for others. So my church is the love I've been blessed with through this experience, I hope I can make The Father proud of me and worthy. I heard his call, I responded,...my transformation and ability to love and forgive is how I testify this. I still feel unworthy, yet the results speak for themselves. If God can do this for me, then I feel assured he will for others. Praise The Lord. Trust in his wisdom. He has always had a plan.

So, God chooses me because He already knows I'm going to "willfully" choose Him? That's not God choosing me, that's me choosing Him, isn't it? God gets the credit of "choosing" me only because He already knew I was going to choose Him? Romans 9 clearly explains God's choosing. No problem with disagreeing with the Calvinist view but at the very least disagree intelligently, not speaking of it in negative terms and in an ignorant manner such as @ 12:38. Here's another thought. If God does not choose us and we have 100% will, why do you or I pray for an unsaved person and ask God to save them? Aren't we praying that God would violate that person's 100% free will and save them?

No, we are not chosen by God, First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. First Timothy 2:4 Who would have all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth. What is the truth? Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, All, not some, but all. Romans 3:10 There is none righteous, no not one. So, we are all ungodly unrighteous sinners spiritually dead. That is the bad news. We are all condemned to hell. But, there is good news. The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. When we believe Jesus paid our sin debt in full, past, present, and futures sins we have not even thought of yet, He seals us with the Holy Spirit of promise unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. John 3:18 We can no longer be condemned. We have eternal life. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE "TEMPORARY" LIFE. NO, IT IS ETERNAL LIFE AND YOU CAN NOT EARN IT. IT CAN ONLY BE RECEIVED AS A FREE GIFT FROM GOD. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Q. How do you know that you have been chosen by God [for Salvation]? A. If anyone believes the Gospel concerning the Christ, it's EVIDENCE that God has chosen, and GRACED THEM! Q. Does Greg Laurie believe that God's Grace is what actually saves a sinner? A. NOPE! He believes, falsely, that a human act of "will" is what is the determining factor in salvation. @ 15:45, Greg Laurie, "...man has the deciding vote.." Problem? God's Grace is trampled upon by this bad, semi-Pelagian view of man's fallenness, and how God saves sinners. Why can't Greg Laurie just thank God for the Grace that He has bestowed upon him, and recognize that the ONLY reason he is a believer is because God gave him the gift of faith? See how Greg Laurie has a thankless theology? Why thank God when Greg has the "deciding vote" in whether he is saved or not? Who is the emphasis really on, here? Me, me, me! It's "man-centered"; rather than God-centered. So much bad theology in what Greg put forth in this sermon. ineffectual biblical

JOHN 3: 3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." In the same manner that we have no part in our birth, we have no part in the new birth. That is the significance that the analogy. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There is none Righteousness - not one. If God chose us based on His knowledge of what we would do, we have something to boast of. It would also mean that God learns (Open theism). God is immutable - he does not learn he does not change his mind. The danger is that we as creatures assign to God the attributes of man, forgetting that his ways are not our ways.

If we choose our own salvation and free will is true, then what good would it do to pray for someone to be saved?? Do we just pray that God would try really, really, really, really, hard to save the person, but since it is up to that person to make the "right" decision to accept the salvation then are we just suppose to cross our fingers and hope that they make the right decision, after all God doesn't control that decision??? Think about it.... you do not want free will... it may sound nice, the word "free".... but if we had free will NO ONE would be saved. Because before we are saved, we LOVE our sin and want nothing to do with God. We do have a will, but God supernaturally (by a miracle) changes our will, then after our will is changed by God our sinful nature is changed and we then, by God's GRACE, naturally want to be God's child and serve Him.

God does not desire anyone to perish? True or false? God desires reconciliation for all? True or false? If you start with the correct origin..those other verses will make sense.

Did John the Baptist lie about not knowing Jesus, in the first chapter of St. John? Clearly they did. Please explain.

Jerry Collins You seem to live in a world of your own making. There is no point arguing with someone who lives in a different universe. Good bye.

We can reasonably surmise that John the Baptist was aware that Jesus was his cousin, but John did not have the awareness that Jesus was the lamb of God until he saw the Spirit descending upon him, like a dove: the one whom sent him to baptize with water, was the same whom said: upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descending and remaining upon him, the same is he which baptize with the Holy Ghost. John the Baptist was given a mission by the Father- he wasn't aware that his cousin, Jesus, would be the only begotten Son of the Father: John bare record and said: I saw and bare record that this is the Son of God.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.1 John 3:8

Jerry Collins explain the witnesses of his resurrection. Explain why all of the apostles and disciples didn’t say they were lying to stop them from dying such horrific deaths when they continued to preach the Gospel and not say it was all a lie to spare their lives? Maybe you should look deeper at the Gospel and ask God to reveal it to you.

@Jerry Collins that's funny. There are numerous hostile witness accounts that say the opposite.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, the same was in the beginning with God: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. for everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.

Don't listen to this false teacher! Has he ever said that we have to believe 1 Corinthians 15 1-4 to be saved? Well, that's the Gospel that saves!
