Well I think the most important reason to know whether or not a God is real, is to know if there really is an utterly evil God out there that really takes hold of human Souls after humans die and judges them by whether or not they got lucky and got the right religion and followed its tenants, rather than how good of a life that person lived no matter what their religion was or wasn't. Because it seems like if the traditional Christian or Muslim God are the real one, then a whole lot of humanity is in deep trouble and it's not fair that this sort of a version of a god doesn't just reveal itself to the world and to everyone directly to tell them which religion is true, rather than leave people on their own to figure out which man-made holy book and religious teachers have been teaching the truth since this world has seen endless numbers of religions that all do the same thing.

Atheism is true freedom. It frees us of archaic commands, foolhardy condemnations, and irrational fears. I was raised a Roman Catholic but after I graduated from high school in 1981, I already saw through all the hypocrisy of religious beliefs and religious institutions. I quietly and gradually began pulling away from the Roman Catholic Church, Christianity, and belief in a divine creator. I did it slowly so as to not cause any problems amongst my immediate family and relatives. I kept my questioning and criticism of God’s existence mostly to myself just to keep the peace. As I got older, I started becoming a little bit outspoken in my questioning and criticism of religious beliefs and I continued my path through neutral agnosticism in my 30s and 40s and pretty much became an atheist in my 50s. I just cannot get over on how much the USA still is religious especially in the southern states whereas all other modern developed countries and even a few developing countries have pretty much rejected religious beliefs and have continued to advance themselves scientifically and educationally. The USA is the lone outlier among developed advanced countries as we are more like the poorer third world countries when it comes to religion and society.

There are many possible responses to the question of "What evidence would convince you that a god exists?" I don't think that a miraculous event would do it for me, no matter how dramatic. That would, at best, only be evidence for something dramatic and unexplained. I think that it's a loaded question, for two reasons. First, it begins with an implicit conclusion and then proposes to go out and cherry pick the evidence for that conclusion. That's not how science works. We don't start with conclusions and then go looking for data. We start with data and then see where it might reasonably lead. Now, it's true that along the way we have to form hypotheses that can be tested, but these are not conclusions made in advance, they're questions that can potentially be falsified and discarded by examining the evidence. It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing. The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists. Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’. On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication. For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything. NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

That man was Jesus, who performed countless miracles to prove his Godship. Other myths and perhaps religions may contain characters too who claimed to be our creator. However Jesus is the only one whose historicity is established and accepted by secular historians. And by historicity, I mean he walked this earth as a mortal and hence entered recorded history. There is still some disagreement among historians about certain details of Jesus's life, but that's just the nature of learning. If we humans have a creator, especially a loving one who wants us to know him, we'd expect him to reveal himself to us, personally and directly. And he did, through Jesus. Additionally the Bible isn't the only place where proof of Jesus's historicity is found. Secular historians from his era mention him in their works. Josephus, Tacitus, and others. Just google. Jesus Christ sacrificed himself 'ALONE' on that cross - and therefore he cried out Psalm 22:1 "My God, My God Why hast Thou Forsaken Me?" The Angels nor the Prophets understood what was taking place on that cross. The Devil himself did not understand. If the Devil would have known that the Death of Jesus Christ was going to be a victory, then the Devil would have done his part in trying to influence the people to keep him alive. When Jesus Christ died, he offered himself up to God as the Burnt Offering, the Atonement Sacrifice, and all of the Sin and Trespass Offerings that were required by men. He conquered DEATH, the DEVIL, and HELL when he died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead as he foretold his disciples - and as he told the people. God was pleased with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God accepted what Jesus Christ offered for himself to God; and what Jesus Christ offered for the Adam race to God. God was pleased. The Angels, good and bad saw this. They did not know that God was going to use the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ be an answer of salvation to the Adam race of all that have been, are, and will be saved. This was God's plan unbeknownst to the Angels and unbeknownst to the Prophets foretelling of the sacrifice. The Blood Sacrifices came with a price for all that had sacrificed to God - and God also FELT the sacrifice. Now this act by the Godhead was for Angels and Man to see; and possibly any other creature that God created as well. 2) Why punish the Adam race for Adam's sin? Answer: Adam had free will just like the Angels, but fell. Unlike many Scholars and Theologians saying that we all have 'Free Will' - I have to disagree. The Children of Adam all started off with 'Sin' in their genealogy. Adam did not suffer that, but his descendants did. With The Lake of Fire and Brimstone that was prepared for The Devil and his Angels was/is also used for the unsaved individuals of the Adam race. Adam tried to cover his nakedness with palm leaves, but The Lord replaced it with 'coats of skin' - animal sacrifice, God clothed them (The Man and the Woman). With Adam's answer for his nakedness he used palm leaves to hide his nakedness. This is a kind of answer that Man may use for his actions - and it might be called, 'religion'. God's answer was 'Sacrifice'. When Man sins, it does affect God. Man's answers for his own sins does not please God, but God's answer... is the answer. In the Western World 'especially' in this day, people don't care to be 'told' or 'instructed' what to do - and to 'obey authority'. God wants obedience. The Fallen Angels with their 'Free Will' did not want to 'Obey' - and they have their destination. The Adam race does not have the 'free will', but they have the 'Sacrifice' that is accepted by God. There is a final destination with The Fallen Angels... or to be saved. To us, the 'time element' might be long - but to God - 'time' has no power over him. The people 'before' the cross had to have 'Animal Sacrifices' until Jesus Christ - and God did and does the accepting. So obedience and responsibility was/is required by the Adam race. People may not be happy about this, but God is The Creator - and he decides. 3) If Jesus is God why would he have to die, but if he really can't die? Answer: He did not die as GOD, he died as a man. As a man, he represented the Adam Race... he often referred to himself as the Son of Man (Adam). Refer to Psalm 22:1) My God, My God...why hast thou forsaken me? Before he died, he told his disciples and he even told the people that he would raise again from the dead. He did. I also believe that God cannot die. Just as Mary is the mother of the Man Jesus Christ and NOT the Mother of God - God does not have a mother. In that same thought, God cannot die, and neither The Angels. 4) Why would God act shocked that humans are going to sin even though he knew they would anyway? Even though God knew that Man would sin with and without help from The Enemy, he still felt the unpleasantness. 5) How could God be all-loving if he's going to send 75% or so of all mankind to hell? Answer: Yes, God is the one that decides. He is the one that will either Accept the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for those that are saved or he will Not Accept the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins that are not saved. It is up to God. He knows Man better than Man knows himself. Also, God is Loving - but God is also Holy and Righteous. 6) Also, why would many of these people suffer to be born in a wrong country and/or a wrong time? Answer: Again, everything is in God's plan. In the capsule of time that God has set - every thing has its part to play. With everything that has and will occur God has a reason - and part of the reason is to be acknowledged by Angels both good and bad, and by the Adam race: saved and unsaved. 7) What if someone never heard about God and that person dies? Or what about babies that die? Romans 2:11-16; 25-27 Those that May Not Have Known 11 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. 25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. 26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? When Jesus Christ died on that cross 2000 years ago - he paid the price required by God. His sacrifice pleased God. With his death on that cross his blood is good enough to save the WHOLE ADAM RACE... but God is the one to decide whether he will accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for that person in question. It is up to God. Remember, we're not in a perfect world at this time, but we look forward to what is ahead of us... What is the purpose of looking down on someone? It's to establish for yourself whether that person should be depended upon in a particular realm. Is this person correct enough that I can trust them to be of use to me in our interactions, and should I seek to interact with them? If the answer is no, they hold too many beliefs that would jeopardize them understanding their world enough to be of use, then you look down on them as not currently dependable. Judgement has a purpose. You can't throw it out entirely but neither is it a good idea to generalize beyond the realm of interest becuase you leave benefit on the table that way.

I want to talk about Carl Sagan. To many people Carl Sagan was a voice of reason. He was a kind and intelligent man who took on the position of educating the masses. His lectures and presentations were edifying and helpful in promoting enlightenment among the masses. I say bullshit! I say that Carl Sagan was a propagandist who spread hate and division amongst the masses. Under the guise of scientific enlightenment, he justified condescension and derision towards Christians and other believers. And he does it in a sneaky and passive/aggressive way, which makes him even more despicable! Science is owned by the people who fund it. If science didn't help to make profits for industrialists or if it didn't feed the war machine, then it wouldn't exist except for maybe in cloister. Sagan worked for NASA. I think for PR as much as anything. His presence made NASA look like it had a peaceful, beneficial to humanity mission. NASA was publicly funded R&D for defense contractors. Data obtained through the projects at NASA helped the defense establishment to build ICBM's. Sagan was certainly a part of the Military Industrial Complex. In his own little way, he contributed to the war machine. (Sagan wasn't very bright and I am sure he was just a useful idiot.) Sagan and his modern counterparts are copies of each other. They all say the same thing. None of them will ever talk about the dark side of the technocracy. They will never mention that science has enabled copious amounts of pollution. They will never talk about how science feeds the war machine. Leaving out a large part of the story makes him deceptive. Public Broadcasting isn't funded by hippies. It is funded by serious businesspeople who work at large, worldwide, corporations. Big oil, big agriculture. I have seen where BP and Archer Daniels have underwritten PBS presentations. Why would such wealthy, smart and powerful people be so interested in indoctrinating the masses? I don't know! As far as the science he was pushing: Big Bang cosmology is highly theoretical. In order to find out if the hypotheses about the big bang are true, we would have to get in a space cruiser and get a closer look. I doubt that will ever happen. Evolution is just plain stupid. There never has been a clear demonstration that evolution is true. If you want to believe that slime on a rock turned into Beethoven that is your business. It is also true to say that one can reject evolution and it will in no way hurt the quality of their life. Evolution is a hobby that is used for atheist propaganda. In science theory means no practical value as much as anything else. Carl Sagan got the job because of his nerdy good looks and warm demeanor. It is just show business. Carl is an equivalent to a televangelist preacher. (Carl was an agnostic.) Carl got the job because he looked good on television and his handlers knew that would help the indoctrination to sink in the minds of the public. With Carl Sagan one doesn't get the full story. One only hears what the people who sign his paycheck want them to hear.

Jesus's words, which he repeated so many times, explain for the pronounced absence of God in most parts of the world. Those words are "few are chosen." God lives in a close community with those people and has a strong personal relationship with some of them. However God will eventually make himself fully known to all the world, "beyond a shadow of a doubt," within the next few decades, at most. That's a prophecy.

There are two main problems in this discussion. The first is that there are so many contradictory, inconsistent and foolish descriptions and "definitions" of who we call God, that no rational person can make coherent sense of them. Due to that dilemma, I, as a Christian have a great deal of sympathy for my atheist friends. The second problem is that anti-Christians make the foolish mistake of debating the incoherence of these falsely so-called Christian ideas and waste their time in arguing about them. A much more intelligent course, if you're even interested in the subject, is to ignore what "Christian" denominations claim to be their theology, since so much of their theology, as they try to explain it, is either incomprehensible, illogical, or inexplicable, and conduct your own research. The beauty of Christianity and the real genius of it is to understand that Jesus didn't want worshipers, in fact he insisted that people not worship him, explaining that worship was for God, and Jesus plainly declared that he wasn't God, but Jesus wanted followers. To this end, he set forth two simple commandments: Love God [good] with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself. In working out one's own life problems, it soon becomes abundantly clear that these commandments are not so simple after all, but demand a huge commitment of time and energy and require a degree of humility which most people are not willing to accept. To the credit of non-believers, if I had to accept that three persons are one person, that a man is also a god, that a supposedly good god consigns man to hell for eternity for doing what he can't help doing and that the Adam and Eve story is the real creation, I myself would turn from such a contrived and conflicted set of beliefs. But, none of that is true of genuine Christianity and I encourage all who are following this debate to lay aside all preconceived ideas about what they've heard of so-called Christian theology and read what is called, The Sermon on the Mount, beginning with Matthew 5 in the Bible. As you read, strive to understand the principles underlying it and to apply those principles to your life. You will be uplifted and enriched as never before!

Okay I just finished watching this entire video, near the very end the speaker talks about a theory of a beginning of time and the universe which I disagree with because the big bang theory was first called the "Cosmic egg exploding at the moment of creation" theory. 1. If there was a big bang there must have been and will be more than one. 2. The universe expanding theory involves believing the red shift of distant light is due to distant stars traveling away from us at near light speed instead of light slowing over billions of years of time and distance because of a Doppler effect that is not proven, light could just as well shift towards infrared for other reasons beside traveling away from us at great speed.

Fiction and Hollywood has done this for centures. Players are using their imaginations. So why the panic? Players of the game KNEW it was make-believe.
