Well said, pay speaks volumes and so does quality, receiving a combination of both of these, then you have struck gold. However quality of real good quality teaching, i.e. transferring knowledge from one person to the other is key key key! I'm 55 yrs old, from England and studying degree maths first year and even I look over your channels -so i hope that speaks volumes. No more words need be said!

As an ex teacher, I couldn't be effective when there was no support or value for respect or decorum in the classroom. The mob ruled. I quit. Eventually.

Had an amazing professor leave the class because the college wasn't paying enough. She wasn't strictly by the book, but she made she sure we learned, we lost a great one. Why are we students paying for school if our money including state and federal grants isn't enough to pay our professors/teachers.

How to keep good teachers: 1. People in positions of power need to regularly demonstrate visible support and actually go to the schools. Maybe sub regularly 2. Good teachers want respectful students but are willing to train a student to be a student. 3. Good teachers resent having"new hire incentives". How about" I've been working consistently for over 20 years and instead of taking away my pension to give to the new hire, let me keep what I've earned." 4. Do not penalize a good teacher for teaching. 5. Class sizes: does it really make a difference? To a good teacher no. 6. I taught for over 25 years. I've taught everything but AP physics AP chemistry and AP calculus. I miss making a difference. Good luck to all teachers out there. Mr Mclogan is one of the best teachers to ever grace a classroom.
