Hi! I just thought this would be a fun topic to talk about. Brandy Melville has so many shady things surrounding the company and it isn't talked about much so I thought I'd give some details behind the brand : )

I understand where the critisism on brandy melville is coming from and while I agree that it would be better to include larger sizes. Keep in mind that it is almost just as hard for a very petite girl to find clothes that fit as someone who is larger than average, if not more in average stores. (This is not coming from a brandy Melville fanatic btw as I’ve never actually shopped there, just from someone petite who never finds any clothes that fit). There are extremes on both ends of the spectrum and there should be clothing brands dedicated for every type of body ☺️

I completely understand as someone who also struggles to find clothes that fit because theyre either too long or too big I know why these petite shops exist, like i also shop in petite sections. The only issue really is that they dont brand themselves as petite but instead "one size fits all" which isnt true.

You all should watch the "Brandy Hellville & the Cult of Fast Fashion" doc that came out not too long ago

Petite isnt just based on size, its also based on height. Thats why a petite store will have a 2P or even a 12P and varying lengths of thwir clothes. BM just has a 1 size fits all.

Great video going over the problems with brandy! Unfortunately people can only vote with their wallets. It's one of those things where even if everyone knows its bad people will still buy it, for example people buying from shein still. We can only hope that will more awareness people will be wary of letting brands affect their self image

I remember going to this store as a black 14/15 year old. It was genuinely traumatising, and I don't use that word lightly. I felt so unwelcome in that store, my friend was shopping around and I was there to accompany her, I just stayed silent and felt really uneasy, everyone was so thin and I was the only black person in there. Even though I was actively suffering from an ED at the time, I was still the biggest girl in the store. I hate that this brand is still a thing. Gross

Brandy Melville had a resurgence around 2012-2014 when teenage instagram photographers were also having a moment (doing the Brittany Panda, iykyk). Can't believe it's still going as a brand. Thanks for a great video!

It just baffles me how they can still sell clothes considering all of the issues they have surrounding them like surely another brand can do the same such as urban outfitters. Its just cheaper which I guess is the selling point

I walk past the Covent Garden branch of BM all the time. It looks so boring and bland. Even clothes from the supermarket look more interesting.

I have never been to one or seen one but I definitely understand from what I have seen the aesthetic they are trying to reach. Personally I think for their price its not worth can get the same looking clothes from asos or other brands for cheaper.
