Why Has Fortaleza Tequila Gotten SO Hard to Find??

Guillermo himself said a big mistake they made as a company was selling it to more states. Since they can't really scale up production all allotments went from cases to bottles. So it's spread thin

I live in Hawaii and the liquor store informed me that Fortaleza were losing money and now mainly concentrating selling them to bars and restaurants. Went to LA and found a blanco which was the last one at the store and wanted $200 for it, I bought one for $80 a couple of years ago. $200 was expen$ive for a blanco!

I just found a bottle of blanco in Riverside, last bottle too for 100$ with taxes. It’s crazy how limited this tequila is

@@victoyous3214 That's great! It's like looking for gold. LOL I found a company online that delivers to Hawaii. I ordered a set of Anejo, Blanco, Reposado and for a bonus an extra Blanco as Christmas special. They also have the "Mill" version but didn't order it...yet. The prices are going up.

@@victoyous3214 I got them thru Wooden Cork and the shipping was a bit expensive. but the bottles were packed well. It was a Christmas special and with S&H was $750. I guess it'll be cheaper shipping in California because the shipping location was San Diego.

I found a bottle of Blanco priced at $100. Took me forever to find a bottle.

It’s only really the Anejo and Reposado (kinda) thats hard to get. Blanco is easy as anything to grab.

Sorry but it has nothing to do with Lui Fernandes claiming Fortaleza the best in the world. That video came out 2 yrs ago and lots of Tequila enthusiasts felt the same as him already I think that video Lui put out only had 64K or 65k views. Hardly enough to move the needle. They simply don’t produce enough to supply demand. That’s it. Very simple.

I’m a tequila guy. I do not like whiskey whatsoever. I will spend whatever on a great bottle of tequila. It’s really just a matter of perception. Your perception of whiskey comes from the deep Irish and Scottish and ultimately British roots that the US was founded on.
