It's a business it's how it works. I think the hold up is the length of the contract not the money. Also Swayman has NOT played a full season yet. He is worth 6.5 ot 7 at the most and that is generous!

If the Bruins traded Ullmark just to not resign Swayman, that will be perhaps the biggest blunder of Sweeney's GM career and probably what gets him fired.

@dim4757 I don't believe they traded Ullmark to just not pay swayman. I believe they would have had to give ullmark an additional mil by either 6/30, or 7/1. That being said, they should NOT feel hostage to swaymans demands if it's too high. He's a good goalie, but he's also replaceable. Lindholm I guess was a good signing, but based on his history, he's certainly not going to solve the Bs scoring issues. I'd be comfortable if they traded swayman for a legit, consistent 40 goal scorer, and we started the sesson with korpisalo and Bussi. Does anyone really think that if we had Lindholm this post season against the Panthers, it would have been a different outcome?

It's unbelievable to me that they have not signed sway and they traded ullmark. Unreal. Sway WAS the priority! If they loose him, we're gonna be some REALLY unhappy fans.

No effing way would I give him 8 mil. Let someone else over pay him. Ullmark won the vezina earning 5 mil just a couple of years ago. We're not talking about Ken dryden here guys. He's been good, but he hasn't done it long enough.

@@acousticshadow4032 look at the numbers of some of our backups,I think they should sign swaymen and trade hampus Lindholm for cap space.They waited too long to trade ullmark and I don't know what is up with the goalie they got in return his cap hit is too high.On the other hand I wouldn't care if they traded swaymen to create cap space to fill out the team around the goalie because the team around the goalie will be good and with essena I think they will get production out of the position and be able to develop another young goalie.

I don't like trading Ullmark. He and Sway were the best goaltending tandem in the NHL, giving the Bruins a solid chance to win every night. When it ain't broke, why fix it?

Sway wants to be paid on his potential. Those other goalies have played full seasons. Jeremy has rarely played much over 40 games per season. Goalie Bob is The wizard of Oz at hand-picking schedules to create successful results. Break down his schedule, the location games were played, the rosters of the opponents. Sway's taken on the Avalanche at home. He's taken on vegas in Boston- without Stone and Eichel making the road trip The Toronto series was without Mathews folks.... Matthews didn't show up. So he made it through a playoff run against a very screwed up team Jeremy does not yet have assists on goals nor has he come near. He doesn't have the strength nor know how to use the boards to help the offensive lines get the puck up through the neutral zone ... That will come in time. Linus ullmark has 3 assists over his career, two with the Boston Bruins. And he should have had more assists, creating breakaway situations that marchand, Freddy and jake blew this past season Jeremy can't scorpion post to post. I don't believe he's actually 6 foot 3 inches. His height went up 2 in in about 18 months. His father is a doctor. 🤔 He still has learning curves. So he wants to get paid on potential - because without goalie Bob coddling his schedule so he could collect his coach's financial bonuses for the Vezina and Jennings awards, Jeremy would not have those statistics. When Linus was carrying the heavy load, Bruins set an NHL and franchise record for the most winning regular season, Jennings award, and he got the Vezina They took away his heavy load and he did not produce as well And who knows - he's a UFA next season, he may be back in Boston Jeremy is still potentially a solid goalie, yet he still has more to learn. The Bruins have been investing in him, holding his hand since he was at UMaine. So they may want a return on their loyalty to him, over his younger years. Sway originally wanted to be a Toronto Maple Leaf. They passed on him - likely why that playoff series had a little extra edge to it Leafs had essentially rejected him. Jeremy had something to prove to Toronto So maybe Toronto will pick him up... 😮

Relax.. they’re not signing anyone else! The roster is set for the 2024/25 season! Swayman will command 8 million for 7/8 years! Yes I agree they should’ve had this contract done by now.. I think a fair price is 8 per.. if he wants 9 million then I can see why this is taking so long!

@stephendimino332 I agree. They're making swayman out to be the second coming. There's a reason why they didn't get a huge return for ullmark. I'd trade him in a second to get a legit 40 goal scorer. They'd have to put up more than just swayman though.

While it does take the entire team to win, I can't agree with your assessment on the D being the (only) reason for the B's reg season success. Sway had several incredible games ~ as did Ullmark. I would've kept them both, if at all financial feasible ~ which it may not have been. 🏒🏒🏒
