That may be true, but that's not a DJ problem. Basically the same as if they said we have had recent break ins, that is not the concern of the person with a camera. If a would be traveller, wanted to break in, or set up camp, they are unlikely to trawl KZbin on the off chance that there might be a video of where they want to break in, or set up camp. The issue with the Director's argument is that in the name of security if taken further no one would be able to even look at his building for fear that, despite them being a good guy, they could tell someone about a potential vulnerability - someone _nefarious_ ! Look, anyone can fly a drone. Anyone could come by at night and take a look at the building from the outside with their eyes or otherwise. Google has already gave a general layout of your building and potential entrance/exit points. If your security relies on people not seeing things, you have no security. Use alarms, use cameras, use secured doors. Presume anyone can see anything on the outside - because they literally can if they want to.

To be precise, he said "Why you come to someone else property?", not the English to which you kindly corrected it. I think it's important to report the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. [EDIT] They're right about the private road. There's a very clear change in surface and a marked boundary with USRN: 42301468, which doesn't extend into that access road. I suspect their ownership and maintenance responsibility actually extends further than Simon Says, although of course the signage should be clearer, and placed at the boundary.

The security business needs a new injection of sensibility this is a United Kingdom and our common language is English humba of the SIA family needs to be able to speak and understand English fully and understand the laws they are To understand the laws that they are to enforce at their particular location. I attended an SIA doorman's course Which could have been longer and more informative regardless And at the end of course we were left to fend for ourselves to register And pay for a licence. Problem starts initial training and getting the information you see of the participants to converse in English

8:30 “we own up to there” yeah you didn’t ask him what they own, you’re asking what the publicly accessible area is. Clearly some privately owned land is publicly accessible. Where I live, the sidewalks (pavement) is all privately owned by the homeowners, and it’s maintained by the government as an easement (i.e. I can’t trespass you off the sidewalk, even though it’s within my property boundaries). The public can access everything up to that sign and gate. There’s no other indication that the pavement there is off limits to the public.

The way they draw imaginary lines on the ground to mark what is private and what is public. So what if you stand with one foot on this side and one foot on the other? Can they not see the utter absurdity of it?
@mapolinski
@mapolinski 3 ай бұрын
Not really. If you bought the land you own the land. If you are half across a fence, the part of you on private land is trespassing. This is all well established law.
@dr_dr
@dr_dr 3 ай бұрын
@@mapolinskithen wouldn't you also then want to clearly denote to others where the demarcation is to prevent trespass - the onus being on the landowner to do so. Simple signs are all that is required, and placing your barrier well into your land would suggest to any reasonable person that is where the private land starts.
@mapolinski
@mapolinski 3 ай бұрын
@@dr_dr It's up to the company if they want to make it clear or not. However, it would be unreasonable for them to expect the public to know without signage. Then again, most people are unreasonable.

I've never considered myself racist, but I'm sick and tired of security staff who barely understand our language, let alone our laws. I think all auditors and citizen journalists should send video clips of these idiots to the SIA and force them to clean up this dreadful mess. The security guards are often more criminal than the criminals they're trying to keep out!

The sia do have one of easiest, most straight forwards complaints web pages of all to fill out. What action they take, if any actions are ever taken about non badge displaying, misinformation, aggression etc. I have no idea at all. It certainly looks like they don't actually care about, who is actually doing the training courses, and the type of people are being allowed sia badges.

Just a question for folks here who will know. I really enjoy many of the auditor vids (depending upon subject matter). Everyone seems to agree airports and prisons are out of bounds...I keep hearing differing opinions regarding laws over MOD sites and nuclear power plants.

Fair play to the two gentlemen from the company. They seemed to be nice guys and willing to learn. As others have said, I don't get why the SIA aren't educating trainees about auditing and photography in public places.

I always love the mentality of these guys. You can't film but they take the decision to ok themselves filming you. It's like what? 😂 To be fair to the director who admits he doesn't know the law and accepts he's learning. Clive knew immediately. Personally I think it's reasonable to be asking.

Have to say i think the guys were friendly and interested in discussing and learning. Think the benefit of these audits is to inform. I wouldn't necessarily expect every property owner or manager to know the law on this stuff til they encounter it. Security guards should know - i think this guy did but sort of misunderstood. He should have hung around for the discussion. Strikes me that those with security responsibilities should simply know these two fundamental things: 1. It is entirely legal to record what you can see from a public place. 2. Drones are in airspace and not subject to the same laws surrounding trespass. Know this, accept you don't own the world and respect the rights of others to go about their lawful activities. Shame these guys didn't fancy sticking around to watch your footage as it was recorded. If it was me, i'd ask you if you had any objections..
