I think you handled the "visitors" to your property correctly. Some people just get so excited to meet "famous" people that they forget their manners. When I lived in NYC I would see many famous people out and about but tried to respect their privacy. You share your gardens and thought with us and that is enough. Life in a fishbowl would be terrible. Your privacy is your right.

Personally, it is okay, Aaron, to complain when strangers come to your home, and yes, there are people who have zero social awareness. Glad to hear you have security measures at your place as well, as you've not really highlighted that. I guess there are always those signs you can put up about trespassing with violators being prosecuted... but even that is a sad thing to do because of certain personalities not having the common sense to stay away.

Though not on the professional, landscaped kind of garden that the two of you are creating for your property my mother & dad and aunts & uncles would always do garden tours on one another's land and I say land because they were voracious plant diggers. They would start with the flower beds, head to the vegetable gardens and more often than not one or another would mention wanting some heritage plant and the other would say, "oh, we have a nice patch of that over behind the pasture... in the woods, by the river... in the ditch...." It is one reason I am nervous about putting videos up on my own channel, as I've been stalked before by a guy who was obsessed with me, and I don't want to invite that possiblity into my life again. Thank you for these highlights. A winter tour of your folks' gardens would be very cool! About bee stings: I've been photographing pollinators for 10 years now, and I've never been stung during this time. And I get pretty close to them, like 4" away from them. They're so engaged in collecting pollen that they barely notice "humans". The only time something dangerous could have happened was several years ago out on a photo hike with my dog, a hornet went after my dog and I wasn't doing any photographing; we were just walking down a path. I believe my dog's tail must have accidently struck it which made the hornet mad and chase her for about 30 feet (with me following of course, yelling "Leave my baby alone!" HA!) And that was a hornet, which is nothing like an American Bumblebee or Honey Bee which is what is most common in people's gardens. So Laura's right, if you don't intentionally mess with them, they won't mess with you. 🐝❤

It's not so much the right to carry, but the right to stand your ground. In places like NY, even with our castle laws, you'll have to "reconsider" using lethal force even if the situation calls for it. In my state, you're guilty of homicide. What you'll need to prove is if it is justified, and the justice system in here were never a fan of firearms.

@@stevennguyen4993 Absolutely! But, I'm not in a liberal State. It isn't something a person should take lightly. But, here people know the majority do have protection, so it's a deterrent. By the way I don't carry personally. It's a very safe State to live in. No, I won't tell you where! Lol Have enough people.lol On a lighter note, I love gardening and learning about it.

@@stevennguyen4993 Homicide means you killed someone. Shouldn't you _always_ 'reconsider' when it's _lethal_ force? You believe you have the right to kill when someone wanders into your property, no questions asked?

Absolutely people are still getting COVID. And dying from it. You are fortunate to be in a position to have limited contact with the outside world! Plus gardening is great for physical and mental health. ❤

I laughed when you said you had used a big syringe to water some arrangements, i use a 60cc cath tip syringe to squirt Bavarian cream and jams in homemade Bismarcks!

I have never commented before but I love the music you play over your videos..it’s always just the right tune for the activity. Also, I know you have a lot of outside noise but as a viewer, I think you hear it more than we do. 😊

Regarding the uninvited visitors, could you put in gates at the entrance to your driveway?

It seems so many have forgotten that people have had flus, especially seasonal, ie right now, and headaches since forever and before C. So much fear being pushed. Hope all stay healthy this season. Try to get outdoors & enjoy the brisk fresh air!

I would love to leave my dahlias in this year in zone 6b-7 but I’ve watched a few people in zone 7 mulch them and cover with tarps and it was a fail. I think partly because they used dark plastic and they really needed white plastic like we use on greenhouses to shade. If the weather starts to heat up in late winter you need to air out the beds or tubers will cook. I would definitely hold on the some prized varieties to be safe. We keep our dahlias in pots with soil and just mist throughout the winter.

I’m in 7a I actually forgot to dig them up because we had a lot going on and guess what they all popped up. I was like what are these lol. We even had construction in that area a little and new mulch put down and the popped up. Maybe because of all that mulch it was perfected

Gardeners world recently highlighted someone dahlia drying in an episode as part of the new series, last week or the week before. That bug was a shield bug, very common where I'm at.

You are 100% justified to complain about strangers just showing up to your home. It's not ok, and I don't understand why people think it is.

Aaron didn't say if they have a no trespassing sign posted, but surely that would be helpful if posted at the entrance to their driveway.

Wow, I can't believe someone would think it would even be remotely okay to invade in your privacy. Thanks for all you do. So enjoyed your discussion on the airplanes and dogs barking. My neighbors had some dogs they would let bark forever. It means they are stressed or we are strangers, in my own yard.
