The issue is not only financial inequity but also environmental and social inequity. Often these also have a strong correlation. E.g. extremely wealthy people also generally have a much larger environmental footprint such as more airtravel, larger house etc. The world has enough for everyone's needs, but not enough for everyone's greed” - Mahatma Gandhi

Using others for personal gain is at the root of the evils of capitalism and why being sensitive is often considered a flaw. We can not be too sensitive, but be among an insensitive environment. What we need and what we want are two very different things... Nikola Tesla

Yep and people like Elon and other wealthy people got there because of their lack of empathy or sensitiveness... If one was sensitive, they would have been beaten in this crapitalism.

i feel the same way...i honestly almost never ever even imagine what being a millionaire would be like. partly because I know it'll never happen, but mostly because I just don't even care about having so much money...as long as I can live fairly comfortably, im good in the money aspect of life. i have a lot of other, more pressing issues that might bring me peace if i could tackle them lol

I think its tough to say that this would be the standard without the capatilist bootstraps protestant work ethic influenced cultural attitudes that most people dont bother deconstructing or in many cases arnt even aware of

No. It's that most of the wealthy had to figuratively sell their souls by beating many other competitors who are also trying to be wealthy. Psychopaths and sociopaths excel at this. It's not the wealth that makes him an ass hole or ignorant. It's the game he excelled at to get him to that place.

very true and good point. but then there's a different group who got wealthy simply by being born into generational wealth...which wouldn't annoy me as much if those ppl would just admit that they've never actually even really worked and just lucked out when they were born into it. but most of those ppl (trump for one example) instead just lie to everyone and pretend that they earned it by being intelligent and skilled in whatever industry they pretend to be part of. Like just be honest...a lot of ppl would have a tiny bit more respect for them for being transparent, in my opinion.

Then you are soulless if you are motivated by money by ego.
@sudd36602 күн бұрын
yes and no, when you have a monetary system you become soulless. we are easily manipulated, we can not escape our environmental influences. and we made our own mess. so why do we choose at every moment to have this system that goes against anything natural?

Divide-and-rule. Textbook imperialism 101. Divide people up, and set them up against each other. George Carlin said this ages ago.

@faydulaksono A comedian. If you search for "George Carlin explains divide-and-rule" you'll find his stand-up comedy show on YT where he explains how it works, in a funny way.
