A Devout Client of Mary Shall Never Suffer the Loss of His Soul There was a certain man who was religious in name only, but, wherever true religion was concerned, hard-hearted and careless. He was, however, in the habit of praying to the Blessed Virgin and saying once everyday a hundred “Hail, Mary’s.” Coming near his end, he was caught away in an ecstasy, and devils charged him before the Great Judge seeking a sentence that would adjudge him to be theirs. God, therefore, knowing his manifold sins, said that he must be condemned. Meantime the Blessed Virgin came offering schedules in which were contained all the “Hail Mary’s,” and begging her Son to allow him to receive a milder sentence. But the devils brought many books full of his sins. ‘The books on both sides were put into the scales, but the sins weighed most. Then the Blessed Virgin, seeing She was doing no good, earnestly besought her Son, saying: “Remember, Beloved, that Thou didst receive of my substance, visible, tangible and sensible substance; give to me one drop of Thy blood shed for sinners in Thy passion.” And he replied: “It is impossible to deny thee anything. Yet know that one drop of my blood weighs heavier than all the sins of the whole world. Receive therefore thy request.” Receiving it, She placed it in the scales, and all those sins of the religious weighed against it as light as ashes.‘Then the devils departed in confusion, crying out and saying: “The Lady is too merciful to Christians; we fail as often as She comes to contend with us.” And so the man’s spirit returned to his body, and on recovery he related the whole tale and became a true monk. Taken From The Glories of Mary By Saint Alphonsus Liguori ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Lady explains the Hail Mary to Saint Mechtilde of Helfta (1241-1298): “My daughter, I want you to know that no one can please me more than by saying Rosary. The salutation which the Most Adorable Trinity sent to me, and by which He raised me to the dignity of Mother of God. By the word 'Ave' (which is the name Eve, Eva), I learned that in His infinite power God had preserved me from all sin and its misery, which the first woman had brought upon herself. The name ‘Mary’ which means ‘Lady of Light’ shows that God has filled me with wisdom and light, like a shining star, to light up Heaven and Earth. The words ‘full of grace’ remind me that the Holy Spirit has showered so many graces upon me that I am able to give these graces in abundance to those who ask for them through me as Mediatrix. When people say the ‘Lord is with thee,’ they give to me again the indescribable joy that I received when the Eternal Word became incarnate in my womb. When you say to me ‘blessed art thou among women,’ I praise Almighty God’s Divine mercy which raised me to this exalted level of happiness. And at the words, ‘blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus,’ the whole of Heaven rejoices with me to see my Son Jesus Christ adored and glorified for having saved mankind.”

I was similarly converted in 2001. I walked into what I now know to be a “Blessed Sacrament Chapel,” just to be in a quiet place to pray. The deacon who let me in to this area of the church, knelt down on one of three kneelers there, so I did the same thing. He left shortly thereafter, and I was alone with the tabernacle right in front of me in which was stored the consecrated host, which means that the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist was right in front of me, but I did not know this. All I knew is that all of a sudden I could no longer remain kneeling on that kneeler. The presence of God enveloped me. I had to get down on my knees on the floor and cry like a baby because the presence of God was so palpable that I could barely breathe. The love of God flooded me as never before-and I had been Pentecostal for many years prior to this. Ever since then, I have wondered why other people don’t just run to the Catholic Church. If you understood that Christ was truly there, and you really, genuinely love him more than anything in this world, you would run there. To meet him. I have gone into Catholic churches since then, when it is completely empty, and I can feel his presence they’re very strongly. I have never been able to sense that same holy presence in any other place of worship outside the Catholic Church. That might be an interesting test for some of you. If you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, then walk into your church when no one is there and then walk into a Catholic Church when no one is there (or during “Eucharistic Adoration.”). The difference is this: Someone is always waiting for you in the Catholic Church and it’s Jesus… the Living Word.

What a beautiful story. I consider myself so lucky and blessed to have grown up in the Catholic Church and even as a sinner, I have never strayed too far. Now as I grow older I am working every day on developing a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. I have never thought about what you said that there is someone always waiting in the Catholic Church, but it’s so true. I have never felt the sense of love in any other church that I have in Catholic Churches across the world. Every time I take the Eucharist now I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly blessed and I pray others get the chance to experience Him in the Eucharist. I feel so close to Mary and it saddens me that some think as Catholics we worship her as a false god.

Join THE church. Jesus did not preach a denomination, he preached that there WOULD be a split but not that it was a good thing. We are grafted. Read the Bible. The appointed holy days are enlivened with Jesus, not put away with. Jesus was born during Sukkot. He was not born during the pagan Saturnalia of the Romans. The Roman Catholic church also falsely depicts Jesus as Saturn in their art. YHWH as Jupiter. Jesus cleansed the temple as other Jews would be cleansing of the chametz. He made a triumphal entry vs exodus, had the four days of testing as the paschal lamb...the seder showing He is the bread of life...the striped bread, striped for our iniquities (Isaiah), the Afikomen shrouded until to be sought by the next generations. He taught us in Gethsemane to pray TO THE FATHER directly, to ask THE father for forgiveness etc. He sacrificed Himself perfectly to rest when the Paschal communal lamb was also. He was at rest by the Sabbat of Pesach, and through the Sabbat of the week, to rise on the first day of counting Omer, as the First fruits. This is a drop in the bucket for how much miraculous beauty is entwined between the Gospels and the Old testament holy days. Even Hanukkah which is not an appointed holy day, celebrated by Jesus...celebrating the Jews that stood against worship of false deities, and blessed with YHWH's miracles...the later symbolism of the nine candles (there are also nine fruits of the spirit), the ninth being the Shamash/ helper candle. We are called by Yeshua to help others by being a light to them! To inspire them to seek THE Truth! I hope that you find His peace and blessings in seeking The Truth, The Way, The Life. ♥

Welcome to the Catholic Church my friend! It’s absolutely beautiful. I was raised Catholic but was away from the faith for 25 years. Broke down one day and cried out to God telling Him I needed Him in my life. It has been an incredible journey ever since. Been going to mass for the past two years and there has been a few times when I’m just standing there and I would start crying. They’re not tears of sadness, but rather tears of happiness of acceptance. You finally feel like you’re home. It’s absolutely amazing.

@@felicianarebello3394 God chose Mary because she was of King David's lineage to fulfill prophecy about Messiah being of David's lineage. Joseph was also descedant of David. In Matthew 12:46-50 Jesus made clear there is no distinction between followers and his mother and brothers. That whoever does will of the Father in heaven is His brother, sister or mother. Catholics ( I was one until I turned 25yo, I am now 38yo) just complicate things, we have a direct line to Jesus and when we pray for each other we do it in Jesus name, no need to do it via another intercessors. in Luke 11: 27. As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You!” 28. But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Confirmed in 2020 here. Raised fundamental baptist, spent my 20's making rounds through non-denominational churches of all sizes and all reformed beliefs. Empty, empty, empty. During those days I thought often about the apostles who asked Jesus "Rabbi, shall we call fire down from Heaven to consume them?", and He scolds them "you know not what manner of man ye are of". So much ego in those streams.

Grew up watching my grandmother pray the rosary everyday. I used to take her and my grandfather to Sunday Mass, but I always stayed in the car. I never went in. When she was sick in the hospital, I prayed with her fimor the first time ever. I prayed to God that he would take away her suffering. She passed away the following day. I loved my grandmother dearly, and I knew then, as I know now that if we are ever to meet again, I must follow Jesus. I had my first communion last year. My life has changed in so many ways since coming back to the church. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

Official Roman Catholic teachings contradict the teachings of the holy scriptures at crucial points. Their doctrines present a false Christ and a perverted gospel which are powerless to save sinners from sin and death (see 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, Galatians 1:6-8). Those who trust in a false Christ and believe a perverted gospel remain in their lost state. The Lord Jesus Christ gave himself in a one-time, all-sufficient sacrifice in which he purged the sins of all mankind (see 1 Peter 3:18, Hebrews 1:3, 1 Timothy 2:6). He bore our sins in his own body upon the tree, died, was buried, and rose again from the dead the third day, all in accordance with the scriptures, that men might be forgiven their sins through faith in him (see 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). He offers the gift of eternal life to all who believe on him (see Romans 6:23, Acts 16:30-31a). Salvation (rescue from sin and death) is a gift of God's grace, not of our works: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). God loves mankind and does not desire that any perish but that all come to faith in Jesus Christ (see John 3:16, 1 Timothy 2:3-6).

And that if I were to die that night I would have gone to Hell for the life I was living. But he told me His mother snatched me away from the Father of Lies and led me to Him, her only Son! I saw Our Lady twice and she looked Jewish! But she is more beautiful than any woman I ever saw. Remember, nothing is taken away from Jesus because we also love His mother. He loved her first and chose her for a specific plan. God is allowed to do whatever He wants with His creation. And He made Mary perfect for Him! Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever! Love the testimony man! I was also a Protestant- Reformed Nondenominational since 2016! I heard the gospel of John through expository preaching in an Acts 29 Network church and I knew I needed Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Was a 5-point Calvinist for 2 years then dropped Calvinism, seeing how contradictory it was to the Bible. Then in 2022 I discovered Our Lady of Kibeho- where Mary and Jesus appeared to the people of Rwanada 10 years before the Rwanda genocide warning them to repent and turn their hearts to Christ. And in the miracle of Mary appearing to people, she wasn't seeking worship for herself. What you read in that miracle is a woman who totally and utterly loves God, and desperately wants people to know her Son. The way I explain Mary to Protestant brothers and sisters is like, if you have experienced the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ through another brother or sister in Christ, Mary is just like that except even more so because she had the most unique and intimate relationship to God than anyone else! More than any prophet, apostle, or angel! She was the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom God used to give the Lord his humanity! And because of that most intimate relationship to Jesus, who is God in the flesh, she understands the mercy, compassion, longsuffering, grace, and justice of God better than anyone else. And there are more details to my conversion, but I joined the Catholic Church Easter 2024! Glory to Christ!

How about the prophets? Especially like Elijah these people were very close to God as well yet you seem to forget about them and instead exalt Mary. Im not denying that Mary was special. She certainly was, but Jesus didn’t solely rely on her. How about Joseph huh?? You guys don’t worship him but he had just as much to do with raising Jesus into a man. I think Mary deserves credit… but not all of it. Jesus came to seek and save ALL people and did not value one higher than another but deemed all invaluable. Mary, as special as she was, was still human. No more or less worthy of praise than anyone else. By idolizing her you first realize that having any Idol beyond God or even in contest with God is against his law. No man can serve two masters you cannot worship Jesus and Mary. So choose which one. Will you worship the Most High God or the humble subject chose to birth the physical incarnation of the Most High God? Here’s some good verses Matthew 6:24 and Joshua 24:15. You get to choose but I forever will serve the Lord, not Mary, not Joseph, not King David, not Moses, Not Abraham, not Noah, not Adam. But the one who made them all. GOD.

I converted to Catholicism in 2019. I was a non denominational Protestant, always felt homeless in the Christian world, if that makes sense. My father and mother had me baptized Catholic as a toddler, despite my mom’s Southern Baptist background and dislike for Catholicism. I grew up having a distain for Catholics, believing most of the myths about the Church. Oddly though, MotherMary was always reaching out to me somehow. When I was a child, a statue of Mary I took from a yard sale and gave to my grandmother. At 19, it was a rosary at a Salvation Army. When I was 25, a baptism pamphlet with Mary on the cover. That was the final straw and I reached out to a Catholic friend (now my Godfather) who helped answer my questions and then sponsored me during RCIA. Now I’m raising my babies Catholic. Thank you Mama Mary for guiding me home to your Son Jesus’ true Apostolic Church. 🙏🏼❤️

I used to be agnostic leaning atheist. After a series of experiences/events that changed my perspective. I was invited by someone to join them in adoration. I eventually took them up on the offer. After about 15mins in adoration, I started balling my eyes out. It was tears of joy, gratitude, the Holy Spirt working to cleansing me. Reading some of the negative comments here. It highlights that there is a reason the world attacks and mocks Christ above all other religious figures. And it’s for this same reason why the RC Church is attacked and mocked above all Churches. The closer you get to the truth of Christ and the Church he founded, the more you will notice the attacks. Once you understand the faith, you see the attacks are not honest or pure, but rooted in lies and misunderstanding of the faith. Notice how some Prots attack the RC Church from a place of arrogance, misunderstanding and distain. You don’t see many RCs criticize Prots with the same venom. Satan, the great deceiver and accuser knows he can’t have all the Christians, so he works through the sins of pride, arrogance, and deception to cause division, chaos and infighting among us Christians. Don’t fall for it.

I fought it every step of the way. It’s so beautiful. I wish I hadn’t though. I used to go to church for all of the wrong reasons. I go to submit, humble myself and worship at his mercy.

I'm not Catholic. I have problems with various Catholic doctrines. But sometimes i don't feel protestant either. Sometimes they come off as having an extremely reactionary low view of the saints, Mary and sanctification. The Bible says the saints will be like the angels. We see Moses and Elijah acting as the members of Christ's Court at the Transfiguration. I don't pray to saints myself, but i hate the Protestant argument "they're dead" Even if they are still asleep, no one dies in Christ.

Communicating with the dead is necromancy. Saul did the same thing trying to communicate with prophet Samuel after he died. He lost the kingdom due to this abomination. Similarly, you will lose out on the kingdom of God if you continue talking/communicating/praying to the dead. Mary died and she never resurrected. But. Jesus Christ is alive. I truly hope the Holy Spirit continues to move among us and bring us all together. I don't think any one denomination has everything correct, but if you are founded in the Gospel and the power and grace of Jesus Christ and baptized, then we are all God's children. God is souch bigger than our understanding and he works on us and helps us grow throughout our entire lifetime. God can use the Church in the tragically fractured state that it is in to win souls if we submit to him and his kingdom. If you read the New Testament as a first Century Jew and understand the culture. You will understand Catholicism. To understand the origins of the Mass you have to study the Jewish Passover. Brant Pitre book Jesus and the Jewish roots of the Eucharist is a great book to understand the Jewish Passover and the origins of Catholic Mass. it’s a must read!

This is so interesting. I was a protestant but now I am looking forward to RCIA this fall after learning about church history and reading the church fathers! :) Lately, I have been studying Catholic teachings about Mary, and studying Marian apparitions. I'd be lying if I said this is easy to believe due to my protestant background. There are many things that I have come to believe about the Catholic Church, but I still have stumbling blocks. Please pray for me!

Excellent episode, im a recent convert myself. I had a dream that brought me to the church, where i live is very protestant. I didnt know a single catholic, wasnt looking at any catholic material, and had only attended mass once about 20 years earlier because a girl invited me. I asked her a lot of questions that she couldnt answer so i never gave it much more thought after that. I was a fan of James White so i had a ton of misconceptions about catholic theology. If not for that dream, i may never have been interested in the church.

When I was younger I used to have a few dreams that my family thought were visions, seeing the trinity, talking to a dead relative, but one I also had I always remember is that it looked like there was war outside and me and my family were almost in a bunker under the house and I was looking from an outside angle and I could see my whole family huddled up in a ball in the corner and the Virgin Mary was covering my family with her mantle. It felt real and loving and ever since then I’m just as certain Mary is with and the mother of God just as I know Jesus Christ is our lord and savior praise the Lord and thank you Mary❤

I grew up catholic and experienced some scary demonic things regardless of being in a devout catholic household. In my twenties I strayed, experienced crazy spiritual warfar and called out to Jesus which made the actual demons I seen flee I became born again but after reading scripture I realized I couldn’t be catholic again because of all the things that scripture said not to do and how the Catholic Church went against that. The Bible clearly warns against necromancy and it’s clear with no exceptions and praying and speaking to Mary and saints is practicing necromancy and I think how I got demonically attacked. Our God is not a God of confusion, it’s the devil who co fuses and lies so if there was an exception about talking to the dead such as, you can speak and pray for intercession from saints and Mary than God would have included that in his word but he did not because he wanted it to be clear not to talk to any dead people at all. Jesus is the only intercession/ mediator we need. I have since had shared visions while awake with my child of God, dreams of Jesus and many other supernatural encounters, none of Mary, I experience no demonic things like previously while I was catholic and I have never felt closer with my creator as I do now. Why would I ever go back to Catholicism when focusing on my relationship solely with the Father, son and Holy Spirit, is what has worked like nothing else.

I've been thinking and feeling drawn to Orthodoxy for many of the same reasons. Not because I believe anything is inherently wrong with Protestant churches or the beliefe in a personal relationship with Christ. I feel like the traditions and "rituals" if you will of Catholic and Orthodox keep you engaged in that relationship with Christ. I think Protestants got it right with a lot of things tbh... but, so much railing goes on about the rituals of Catholics and Orthodoxy at Protestant churches, which I too have taken part of... but my change of heart comes with the struggle in my own heart where I long to and struggle with staying connected outside of the Church. And it seems to me that these long established rituals are not about works as most would assume but more about giving the body of Christ as many rituals and traditions possible to keep from being idol and sinking into dispair which happens to many Protestants and seemingly not as many Catholics or Orthodoxy. Maybe it's just me desperate searching for more... idk. But looking for more Jesus can't be a bad thing... can it?

I have a hard time grasping this comment section. So many state they are Catholic, they were Protestant, they are this and not that. As if denomination ultimately matters. God doesn't call us to conform to the image of a denomination. We are called to be conformed to the imagine of His first born son. Whether that be found in a Catholic church or not, matters not. At the end of the day we stand to be held accountable for ourselves and ourselves alone. Let us not identify with a denomination but rather with our adoption into the kingdom through Christ's actions on the cross. Having our hearts and minds stayed on the purposes of the kingdom. The Devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy. If we get caught up in division over denomination we will fight each other. Losing sight of what we are called to.

Now, that is not me trying to demean you in anyway. Sometimes technology does odd things. However, if was meant to be a reply to my comment. All I will say is that if the history of a denomination/practices doesn't align with scripture then it is of little to no value. If it does align, fantastic. Denominations should not be what we identify with though. There is no where in scripture that calls us to identify with where we attend and or why we attend. @@jtcedwards I was replying to your comment and I'm not trying to be rude, so thank you for that consideration. My excitement comes from a place of finally learning church history and how the early church practiced. Reading the church fathers opened a new world into Christianity and how to understand it. But I don't want to play Bible verse poker where we go back and forth...for me worshiping God became something I wanted to do as close to the source as possible...and in the early writings among early Christians there was a denomination. There was one church.
