B.J. Novak began gaining comedic notoriety when he became Ashton Kutcher’s lead accomplice on his hit MTV prank show, Punk’d. But it was not until he was cast as the temp. Ryan Howard on the hit sitcom The Office that Novak started turning heads. Novak also became a producer and writer on the show, writing 15 episodes throughout the show's 9 seasons.
After The Office ended, Novak’s most notable roles were in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds and the period drama Saving Mr. Banks.
But lately, it seems as though Novak has disappeared from showbiz. Has Hollywood had enough of this talented actor and writer or is he just taking a break? Here's why Hollywood won't cast B.J. Novak.

"Why BJ Novak doesn't act anymore" is what it should be called. I'm sure he doesn't need much money with the residuals he gets from The Office. Same for the rest of the cast, though a lot of them have booked national commercials which is where the real money is.

apps take a ton of resources, constant updates.. constant coding and competitors... you shut it down so you dont continue to dump resources into something you're not going to take to the next level. like any software..I.E. windows XP is shut down.. you can still get windows XP - you are just not going to get any sort of support whatsoever. Same with his app.

BJ Novak is mentioned in the book "Thank And Grow Rich" by Pam Grout (obviously a riff on "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill).......Novak before he leaves in the morning, "powers up" in which he fills himself with amazing joy and allows it take him to wherever he wants to go. He has the ultimate attitude toward life and he is reaping the rewards.....definitely someone to be admired.

The title should be "Why B.J Novak is not acting anymore". It's not that Hollywood doesn't want him, it's him not interested in acting that much.
