After my investigations for past 20 years I agree with Rupert as author and media spokeperson for the core teachings of Buddism, Vedanta, and the Mystical Traditions ie behind Abrahamic Religions namely Christianity (Jesus was from the Mystical Jewish Essene tribe ) Islam has a Mystical hidden side called Sufism) Judaism (has a hidden Mystical side called Kabbala ) Believers and non believers only have to switch to the Mystical side of their societies religious traditions which all say the same thing uniting everyone. Likewise at the core of Shamanisn & Paganism to 19th Century Idealism the same message , you are not your Ego, you are at One with the Universe you are local Consciousness of greater Consciousnes (if you like God) you are the the "I Am That I Am" in the Old Testament and "I Am That" in Vedanta - both West and East traditions say you are Consciousness ( I Am = Consciousness ) Once realised there will be a universal domino Awakening to our True Nature

Well spoken, and very recognizable. Unfortunately, after a long life (and hopefully a few more years to go, now 72 years old) I have two things I cannot understand, namely the universe (matter/energy, space and time and how this can exist) and something like 'universal consciousness. I am aware of many things, but I cannot comprehend all this. In any case, like Socrates, I know that I do not know. All I know for sure is that I am, that there is a world and that my image of it is an illusion.
@ahimsa0391111 ай бұрын
Rather than thinking of the world as an "illusion" it might be helpful to think of it as an "appearance". As a child in a Catholic parochial school, I learned that there are some things that the human mind can never fully comprehend; these are termed "Mysteries". Somewhere in his writings the sage Rumi explains time: every instant the universe comes to an end, and every instant a new universe comes into existence. Recall that a motion picture is a succession of still pictures shown rapidly enough (24 per second) so that to the human perception there is an appearance of continuous action.

In the Vedic tradition only the eternal permanent is ‘real’ & earth plane and our bodies, indeed all matter is not permanent. Thus in Advaita all this is a dream in the mind of God, or more succinctly, all this we witness here on earth is as a movie being projected on the blank screen of the Self, the Self being another name for God, the unborn undying awareness. It takes years to get this inside, I recommend ‘self-inquiry’ as per Ramana Maharshi.
@hansgouda859311 ай бұрын
@@Nrgheal That is indeed the idea in a certain tradition, just as there are other ideas. The idea that only the 'immutable' is true is questionable (to put it simply, a rock is 'more true' than a worm, because it is considerably less subject to change than the worm). Likewise, we cannot say that consciousness is unchangeable, because consciousness cannot be known as changeable or unchangeable. After all, what could consciousness know? And if it knows itself, it cannot possibly "know" whether it is changeable or not.
@hansgouda859311 ай бұрын
@@cazalis He indeed answers such questions with great insight and love. But it is not a question, because I now know that the big questions that have been asked (and need to be asked) for thousands of years do not need an answer (because every answer remains a description, a concept or idea, a product of thought). Every answer is false. Only when nothing arises in the mind in response to each question and you are aware of it, everything is resolved. As Ramana says about answering the question: 'Who am I?' Every answer is deception. I really don't have a question for Rupert, although I appreciate him very much. If it was my neighbor, we would definitely be friends.

humanity's survival depends on recognizing matter as sacred and the interdependency of mind and matter.

We used to think the earth was flat. Now we think Consciousness is primary. (There are many sages and mystics that say consciousness is not primary.) However, for now, yes we’d be better off if we at least took this step.

Everything happens in 'Consiousness'. It's down to Consiousness if it wants to end humanity or to shift to a new paradigm? Life will evolve either way.

How is it primary?
@xman93310 ай бұрын
How do we make or accelerate that paradigm shift to recognizing and accepting that consciousness is fundamental and we’re all offspring of it? With the current state of the world, we don’t have the many years it took to shift the flat earth paradigm or the earth centric paradigm.

The "ethics of care" may function as a litmus test for love, and furthermore, may measure many gradations of love that we can achieve. Empathy can be learned and may require the trauma of one's life as well as several generations of trans-generational trauma to be processes before this happens. If I am right, then the solution to many of the worlds problems will be solved by the acceptance of these ethics worldwide, and they could one day become universally accepted as universal human rights, and objective moral truth. I am interested in whether experts in non-duality philosophy who testify to the experience of total awareness are able to transmute the trauma (self-hate) in their own lives. Even though their life is an illusion, according to them, could they just do it anyways? From my own experience with psychotherapy, it requires going back to the trauma over and over until the intensity of stored emotion is gone. The reason why I asked this is because of how ethics now can seem to be on an energetic level since it is having the capacity to have empathy which is an emotion. This seems to be a natural human state when there is an absence of the emotions that result from trauma. Already, I am thinking that this is not going to be possible until a large enough support network of awakened beings exists because of how it may cause psychosis or at least the support network for a practitioner going through this processing will be aware that they are experiencing desire to act on psychosis without succumbing to it. Until this type of support network gets large and understood enough for it to become applied to segments of the population, it may function as a necessity in the same way that monasteries have been so necessary for advancement. The reason a support network may be necessary may be because this type of processing may make employment impossible without it.
