YOU HAVE A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY. A lot of people in the west and particularly the USA, are very interested in the life of Japanese people outside of the more public facing and glamourous depictions. Furthermore, there's a scarcity of content which honestly depicts this side of Japanese culture, particularly in the English language. Your English skills are more than adequate to fill this niche, and there are thousands of people who are interested.

@@NomadPush I want to second this. We don't get to see normal interactions, especially outside of big cities and popular places. And if you like traveling, you could show more of the country and give background. What I am about to say you should take with a grain of salt though, as I am not successful in creating content on KZbin. It is correct that you don't earn that much, but be proud of what you have achieved so far. That being said, the number one thing I want to give you feedback on, is your repeating of stating numbers of subscribers and income. I believe this can be interesting for videos focusing on that side of the business, but I believe you should focus more on making content you love to create, things you have a passion for, because it will be visible. Don't ask for more subscribers, make content people want to subscribe for. KZbin is showbiz, right? You have to convince people, that you are proud of what you do and achieved so far. Instead of asking for more subscribers, thank the ones you have, be proud of what you achieved. Invite people to follow your journey and be a part of it. (and I know that's hard, for me at least) Language wise: Don't worry, really. Your English is good. You do make mistakes (missing articles here and there mostly and a bit of wording) but it is easy to understand you. Coming from a language so different to English, you can be proud of your abilities. Don't be shy about it. You can add more Japanese terms or idioms, teach people things about Japanese they not know, or things you struggle with in English or find weird, if that is something you could enjoy. Like Skateboarding vocab? AND (because I do that in streaming as well): look more into the camera. I know it is weird, and it is uncomfortable for me at least. You are looking around a lot, seeming to avoid it. But it can be better to practice doing it more, or look into one direction at first. Looking closer to a point where the camera is also helps. And last but not least, again: do content you enjoy. You love skateboarding? Show people the best places in your area to do that. Do what you can afford to do and love to do right now and invite people into it. I do hope you can find a good way to increase your income and live comfortably again. Best of luck!

@@NomadPush You are definitely on track, im from Singapore and the fact that you have exposure even to my little country says a lot. Are you serious?! Your English is the best among the Japanese and many other foreign KZbinrs, the very popular ones, you don't have heavy Japanese accent, your pronunciation is so clear, it seems that you are a perfectionist, that might be keeping you holding back from the things you really want to do. I'm glad you started this channel inspite of doubting yourself. That is a great victory for everyone. I hope your channel explodes so that you can help others in similar situation you are in now. I wish you all the success in the world!

Your English is seriously good, use it to your advantage, us westerners appreciate a Japanese man who speaks English in these videos. Subtitles are fine but you are actually speaking to us when you use English in your videos. I also came here from Pearl's video, glad she found such a down to earth guy to interview. I personally would like to see more about your life as a nomad in Japan. I can read all the info I want but it is much more personal watching a video from someone living there and experiencing it. I think alot of us viewers are interested in your perspective on life and the things you go through day to day. I hope things get better for you and I'm sure they will. Stay positive and I'll be forward to future videos from you.

It feels like there's still such a big disconnect between the average American and the average Japanese person, despite how many Japanese products we consume, (anime, manga, etc.) It's crazy to me that you didn't think of using your English until now. The English speaking world is for sure interested in more Japanese content. I saw another channel of a 50 year old Japanese person talking about his life in English and it was so interesting. You know if you wanted a side gig I bet you’d be uniquely placed to put together some really interesting tourist experiences for people who want to experience the “real” Japan. A lot of people like to travel to get an authentic feel for the country they’re visiting without getting drawn into kitsch tourist traps. Maybe you could put together videos of less well-known areas and experiences in Japan. Maybe you could even pour together and promote some ex packages for less well-known areas and experiences for small groups. People also like to travel on a budget these days so going shopping at thrift stores or eating at cheaper everyday shops or drinking at little local bars is very attractive to many budget-conscious tourists, but often inaccessible because English menus might not be available and Japanese people are often humble and shy about their English skills (though in my experience are really warm and friendly if someone makes the effort to break the ice). Looking forward to see you grow! がんばってください!

Also, its impossible to force anyone to watch you. I think that is a part of what is making KZbin such an important platform now, because it is people connecting more with others from outside their social network, on a level that a photo and caption like on other legacy platforms never allowed. It’s very interesting and inspiring witnessing this seemingly new renaissance of common people connecting with the world in a totally real and vulnerable and mostly unedited way.

Bro I've been across Japan for 6 months in total, hitchhiking and meeting several people, and personalities like yours are rare there. You're one of a kind, and you sound very likable, genuine, and original, in a country where confirmism is the norm. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is definitely interested in watching this kind of content!

I was just asking myself earlier what makes this homeless KZbinr different from other homeless people in Japan. Lots of people doing KZbin about Japan because it's a popular country for now. And the answer is because you are a skateboarder, not just homeless. And you go to places that's different from other KZbinrs in Japan. Local. Ground Level. Most Japan KZbinrs do very touristy videos, gloss it up, panoramic views (quite boring).

Your English is extremely good and your accent is like native-level! At the beginning of the video, I even thought for a moment you were born in Canada from the way you spoke! (And I'm from Canada myself) Best of luck and I wish you success in your projects!

Did you spend time growing up in the USA? (my guess is Hawaii)? You have great English, I am a Canadian living in Japan and I actually wasn’t sure if you were Japanese or an Japanese/Asian-American living in Japan 😂 so to be fair your English is great. This is my first time watching your video excited to see more
