My husband and I started regularly attending a TLM mass about a year and a half ago. We are in our 60's. Our son and his wife eventually joined us and they are fully Traditional now. They had two children, have had another since, and are soon to have a fourth. They are so full of joy, loving their faith and their children. Our church is full of young families. It is so beautiful to observe. I do hope this is the future of the Church.

Amen Eric I started in the Latin after converting from Methodist in 1975 , but now my wife plays organ for the Saturday evening Norvis Ordo and on Sundays we go ti the Latin Mass that I just love ! I understand how you felt in Florida. Amen Amen to the Latin Mass

I'm not a bookseller, but since y'all mentioned the Fathers and the Gospel of Matthew, I have to mention that CUA Press is publishing nice translations of the Commentaries on Matthew by Saint Jerome of Stridon, and by Saint Hilary of Poitiers. And if you can't drop the cash for those, you can probably find, free of charge online, the old Schaff edition of Saint John Chrysostom's Ninety Sermons on the Gospel of Saint Matthew. You heard that right: ninety pure-gold sermons from the golden-mouthed Saint himself!

SSPX is a schismatic group whose leader had to be excommunicated and all their priests are suspended a divinus and can not perform the mass. Period. Recently, Francis gave them the ability to hear confessions and do marriages, but he did not say they can say the mass outside of a marriage ceremony. So don't follow schismatic wacko cults that tell a lot of lies, like the SSPX

So when we are finally allowed to go back to mass, I am determined to make it a priority to drive the 1.5 hour to a traditional latin mass with my Non Catholic husband because, that experience that you gave about your wife "not having to become catholic" has happened to us on more then 1 occasion". Also our RCIA is taught by a lady who seems very nice but I know my husband will not relate to at all. Also, obviously I pray for him all the time. He comes to mass with us, but the logistics are all very frustrating and honestly all the NO parishes we have attended, I don't really blame hmi for not rushing to convert. This is in Ontario Canada.

It is true that, depending on the parish. RCIA can be truly awful, or it can be OK. My guess is that about 60 percent of parishes have awful RCIA. But it all depends on the parish. A person should probably shop around for a good RCIA parish. But don't go for the SSPX stuff, they are schismatic and have no power to say the mass. They are suspended a divinus, which means they cannot say the mass. Go to FSSP or ICKSP.

That's not true at all. Christ is fully present at both masses. Don't ever denigrate the presence of Christ and start quibbling over which prayers you like and don't like. Jesus would do a face palm if he heard you say that.

Pius X warned us about these fake "traditional" people who would try to reject the one holy Catholic church, and would try to lure you into their new false religion by means of using the traditional mass to lure you into schism. The often seem holy, but then after a while, they start working on you, trying to get you to reject the pope, the Council, the bishops etc. They set up their own little popes, be he Lefebvre, or Vigano, or Taylor Marshall. They are subtil like the devil. Pius X said ""“Do not allow yourselves to be deceived by the cunning statements of those who persistently claim to wish to be with the Church, to love the Church, to fight so that people do not leave Her…But judge them by their works. If they despise the shepherds of the Church and even the Pope, if they attempt all means of evading their authority in order to elude their directives and judgments…, then about which Church do these men mean to speak? Certainly not about that established on the foundations of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone”" Pope Saint Pius X, Allocution of May 10, 1909, as found in the Acta. So no, never join schismatics cults because you like the style of mass they present, or because they encourage you to pray the rosary. Eventually they try to lead you away from the church, and they feed you all sorts of lies and distortions to get you to hate the Catholic church. Right now we have a bad pope, but that is no reason to abandon the one true church.

Franciscan University is still rotted through with the charismatic movement. Not that long ago, the blasphemous and pornographic work, "The Kingdom: A Novel" was required reading in an English class at Steubenville. STAY AWAY FROM FRANCISCAN UNIVERSITY. I might add that Scott Hahn's hermeneutic of continuity point of view is highly mistaken. He has a gigantic library and dazzling knowledge that do him no good. All for naught.
