It has been confirmed that underwater combat is NOT in the game in a Korean developer interview. HOWEVER, as I've said in the video, I believe that they can do lagi right in wilds if they really want to, in a flooded environment where player movement is restricted, and lagi's attacks are enhanced. Either way, base game or expansion, I still believe 🥺

I’ve also heard rumors of his skeleton is in the game and they used it in one of the Leviathan so there’s a high chance

I've been sayin this, they already did this before with Jyuratoadus' swamp in the Wildspire and Beotodus' deep snow in Hoarfrost Reach. Those mechanics are really cool but heavily underutilized, I believe they can do Lagi justice without underwater combat.

He better return in Wilds, like we got a new leviathan Balahara, so maybe Lagiacrus and probably Agnaktor might come back I hope 🙏

I really wish they do bring him back its a really cool design and it would be a shame to have to wait another 5 years for the chance of his arrival I also think there's a high chance for dalamadur to also return at some point considering world has fatalis and I think the next step to top it would be big snake, either in wild or its expansion

In Dragon's Dogma 2 there were giant snake bosses whose whole body would align to the terrain. They could even ragdoll. The problem they had with Lagi in world was probably on their to-do list while working on the RE engine.

I would love him to come back in Wilds... I've never own any Nintendo device so I've never fought Lagiacrus before but I can tell how cool it would be to hunt it.

If they do bring back this big boy, they could also implement what they did with the lavasioth in world from the Elder rieses, where it jumped in and out of lava in its little arena where there were holes in the floor.

Also if you think about it, they would be wasting an asset if they didn't bring it to Wilds. From the looks of it they already spent a decent amount of time on Lagiacrus in World and it would be relatively easy to just transfer it over from World to Wilds.

Look I may be crazy but I think they might add underwater combat not in the base game but in the expansion since the game already has a lot of new features considering the direction of the story and plot I don't think they can bring it in base game but I think they can focus on it in the expansion Remember this is just wishful thinking BUT A MAN CAN DREAM

I don't think that's too crazy, they've been more ambitious with every new release(expansions included) in terms of the breadth of new mechanics and gameplay additions. It definitely could happen.

if there is no underwater combat, i dont want the Lagi back. Un tri the fight was 10/10; the fight on mhgu was a bit borring

I get you. Unpopular opinion but I look back fondly on underwater combat. I would also prefer it if it was underwater. We'll see what the devs do.

there is a link on monhun reddit to a developer interview(in korean) where they confirm that underwater combat isn't coming back, however i won't lose hope on lagi

I heard that the people played the the DEMO said that there are multiple biomes and locals and one player said that there's a TROPICAL ISLAND JUNGLE area where some parts are submerge in Water similar to the FLOODED FOREST, there's also a weather effect which is a HEAVY RAIN that happens randomly and will cause environmental hazards such as a heavy floods. so LAGI might comeback. fingers cross.
