That’s why trucks are so expensive.....everyone wants this fancy interior and all the bells and whistle‘s. Next thing you’ll want is heated foot pedals to keep your tootsies warm. I drive a plain old SR5 tundra. Nothing fancy at all about it......but knowing how Toyota has a great reputation for their engines and long lasting vehicles...Thats peace of mind. Never thought I would want a truck with so many comfort options. My favorite truck previously was a $2500 1982 F150 that was a complete piece of crap. No AC, blown out dash, surface rust everywhere, couldn’t hear the radio over the sound of the 5.8 Windsor. I loved it. No distractions while driving. That being said, my 2020 Laramie is so comfortable to drive and the cooled seats are on most of the year here in NC. I’ll just have to deal with all the electronics wearing out and the costs associated with it

Ram has definitely had the better Interior and infotainment center since 2014+. I went out in 2015 to find my first brand new truck, compared all three 3/4 ton diesel trucks. Ram looked the most mean/muscle/ sporty, best mpg, best warranty, had the best torque, Ofcourse I went megacab and nothing compares to that… I also think at the time Ramhad the most reliable diesel emissions, I think are easier and cheaper to maintain and work on

That's the reason why i love base models. No sunroof to stop working or start leaking, no heated seats to randomly stop working, no uncomfortable leather seats (in summer AND winter), no huge touchscreen head unit that WILL stop working and WILL need replaced. Just gimmie the engine i want with 4x4 and I'm good.

My dad has a 2021 and he has to bring it back to the dealer for a check engine light after 4,500 miles and the def pump is bad. And I had a couple issues with the NOX sensor in my 2017 when it was new. The only issues I’ve heard with the newer rams is the emissions crap so the best thing to do is make some parts fall off

I'm glad I found this video. I found a '22 2500 Mega Cab here in town, and have been considering pulling the trigger. But with the trasmission issues {warranty or not} is not something I want to have to deal with. There has been a rumor swirling around for a little while now that says Ram is looking to partner up with Allison to make tranny's for them. And if they do that, I will hold out to buy a new truck. A cummins bolted to an allison transmission would be an absolute beast of a truck. Bolt up dana axles and it would last forever.

I bought a ram because I have been a dodge fan all my life, and because I have been a professional mechanic for over 30 years. My first experience with dodge trucks was my 1975 ramcharger and I put that truck through hell as a teenager and it was bulletproof! My second choice would be the older fords but I'm not a fan of the new aluminum body trucks. As far as durability, I worked for a city garage and the Ford durability far exceeded anything Chevrolet had in the fleet, but when we started adding rams to the fleet, they exceeded both. I just bought a 2018 ram, and I had a choice of every other brand, and I chose ram!

As a longtime tinter(14-15years) and doing a lot of dealership work, most tint shops doing go crazy with cleaning up after themselves because of the liability of scratching paint with a microfiber. I no longer handcut except for the rare occasion so I don’t ever have the runs down the paint issue anymore.

Tinters typically don’t wipe off water spots off the paint because they could scratch the paint. My old shop we didn’t wipe the paint off but we also told them what to expect.

So true my 2004 Ram my passenger side door locks stopped working the windows work but the power door locks do not. Also my 2014 Ram I get electrical issues where the check engine light comes on goes off the AC will be on high drops too low then goes right back up to high dash lights also but that's how you know a true Ram owner. But I had the same thing as you basically 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, and now looking at the new ones. But the 2003 if you went on the firewall where the main computer is you will see 4 plugs and the 3rd one down if you look you will see a dark green wire with a yellow stripe if you cut that wire it takes the governor off the truck but the next year they got smart.

‘22 Superduty basically gonna get few more color choices, 12” screen. With you on selling for more than what you paid. I made 4K more on trade off my ‘19 Superduty Platinum. Picked up a ‘21 Superduty Tremor platinum. Higher tow rating, 10 speed, limited slip front diff, 5 drive modes, trailer back up assist, every option but no cab clearance lights ( not big fan of those anyways).

I used a 2014 3500 until this year. Over 300,000 on it, of 100k was with 400 gallons of water in a bed tank. Over 100k was with the full tank, and 14,000 lbs of trailer hooked up. I honestly don't know what people are doing to those transmissions, because the only major issues I had was 1 turbo, and the def fuckery twice. Didn't burn a drop of oil either, but I was anal about not working the engine hard, until it was at operating temp.

Alignment for the truck, yes certainly...to adjust the steering wheel position, by turning the drag link. Did you know RAM spot welds the jam nuts to the adjust sleeve? They also state, under no circumstance are you to remove the welds....well RAM, how do we straightened the steering wheel after an alignment?

I have had 4 Ram trucks already looking at the new 2021 but when I bought my Ram trucks back in the day new from the dealer my 2003 Ram witch i rolled over, not fun on the Highway coming out of the Midtown Tunnel New York City but also when I got my 2004 Ram new I had to bring the trucks to the body shop because the doors gaps were even. I seen a lot of trucks where the gaps on the doors with ripped rubber. But my 2014 Ram I started to see the light scratches and Haze in the paint. Looking at the new 2021 Rams and the paint looks better but ill have to see but that's also why I never send my trucks through a carwash.

RAM interior has beaten Ford and Chevy for years. Even the new Ford interior (better) but it’s still second place. I own a ‘17 RAM 1500 Laramie and no issues at all. The RAM HD’s are tried and true w the Cummins, Most hotshots I see are RAM’s and I travel all over the U.S.

Stupid ford made it a none serviceable transmission with no dipstick for checking trans oil. They are supposed to be work horses made to tow, no way a trans will hold up very long without any service work.

The 68RFE in 19-current in LO Cummins are completely different that 4th gens. The valve bodies, solenoids, and shift quality is are much stronger than in the past. And they can actually hold power unlike in the past. But, I do some heavy towing and had to go up to the 3500 SRW H.O. I think this Ram is going to really surprise you!

In this market if you're buying a truck every 2 years you'd be better off with undercoat and just the basic maintenance, hell with ceramic and paint protection because 2 years in it shouldn't have any rust anyways. The average 2nd hand buyer just wants to see the oil change records up to date and maybe a month or 2 left on the warranty to give some piece of mind the truck was last serviced by someone certified to do the work.

From front to back top-to-bottom is all Gale Banks but just started getting rust along the bottom of the doors so I'm right now stripping the truck and going to Rhino line the whole outside of the truck but my friend owns a body shop so I'm having it professionally done and also having it colored matched to the original paint color which is burgundy red. The motor is so great in that truck and I only have 170k miles on it and it's a 2001 watch is nothing for that.😎👍🇺🇸🍻
