Bought a SA223 couple of months ago and love it. I am 80 years old so I use it for everything. Sure beats a wheel borrow and spade for moving dirt.

Thanks for the video. Seems like a good Machine. I have a sub-compact Massey Ferguson (Model 1710 FEL & Backhoe, 2,668 lbs) bought new about 20 years ago. In my tough Michigan clay soil I found that an added tooth bar really helped dig into the earth. It was like $109 & has been a really helpful add on, along with clamp on forks for the loader bucket when I needed to move bulky lighter weight stuff. I'm just an amateur but these two inexpensive add-ons helped a lot! This machine seems to be a bout 20% heavier than mine from the specs I read. I know on my next machine I will add a rear weight box. Your machine might be a good little upgrade for me as I don't want to get too big & heavy. --I still have my Father's old 1969 Cub Cadet 12hp Garden Tractor, just a little tyke, but boy it can sure clear a 1/5 mile of 6-iinch snow on my street with chains and 78 lbs of windshield washer fluid plus 50 lbs of those old iron wheel weights in the rear tires!! (--Yes I weighed the tires to prove it!!)! --The tires spin, the chains catch, and she moves the snow!!---Both good machines and solid metal components, if you know what I mean... Cheers!!

Great video! What are your thoughts on the turf tires vs the R4 industrial? Was curious how turf tires would be in winter with snow removal etc... probably not too much difference.
@PaulOtis2 жыл бұрын
One thing about turf tires in snow, they tend to float instead of biting. Next year I want to put chains on the front tires as well. In small snowfalls, there is no difference at all. Thanks for watching!

I have a SA 424 Yanmar with backhoe and third function for grapple . It has about 270 hours and is a 2020. I love the strength of the backhoe and loader I don’t like the lack of a Low range. Yes it has a high and a low but for me the low is more like a medium. I am going to sell mine for a 3 Range or a gear drive with a shuttle.
@PaulOtis2 жыл бұрын
You do loose a bit of power with the Hydrostatic. I've not experienced the low range issue, but I've not driven a geared tractor since the 80's when I had my John Deere B.

cant go wrong with a yanmar, they have been making engines and tractors for some time now. i have an 87 yanmar 226d. it works well. its similar to the jd 750, it to holds its value, & from what i found online it was aprox 3k less than the jd because its not green. (when new)

Very true! I have been very happy so far with the Yanmar, it is allowing me to do things that I just can't do manually any longer. Thanks!

Get a tooth bar for the bucket. It will dig much better.
@PaulOtis3 жыл бұрын
I am thinking of that. not sure how often I will be digging though. Thanks!
@malone6282 жыл бұрын
Tooth bar is a game changer. Not just for digging either. Pulling up small saplings and brush, the tooth bar grabs and bites. I have a 2021 and cannot stay off of it!
