My gold collection is not based on ultranationalism or xenophobia. It's based on the best purchase for the money to increase my wealth over time. A much better way to go. If the American coin is easily sold when I need and can be bought without a premium, I'll go for it, But if the British, Australian, South African, etc gold coins are the best buy when I am purchasing, those are what I get.

I'm with ya. They're one of my favorites, especially the type 1 design. I'm working on filling up a fractional tube of eagles, half of it being quarters and the other half being tenths. Just about done filling it but been focusing more on silver this year. I like the fact you could take in 100 gold eagles and not be required to fill out a tax form. I know it's required to do but you don't have to right there in the store. That makes a serious impact on what I feel comfortable stacking a lot of. That being said I don't plan on selling.

I like my mix of newer fractional Eagles and pre-33 gold and 90% Constitutional, all of which I bought slightly over melt. I got rid of most of my foreign stuff, except for some tenth ounce gold Maples which are beautiful 24K little gems. Peace and Morgan dollars are the exception, but I love those too!

Gold is not soft, its hard as some forms concrete but way more malleable and ductile. Silver, gold and copper are diamagnetic as well. Anyways I do like AGE's but I wished the us mint still made quarter eagles($2.50 gold coin). I need to save up for a double eagle or a Mexican 50 gold pesos.

these type 2 gold eagles are just brown just too brown dont get me wrong, its a top 2 coin, but man they seem even more brown than the type 1 Florida, im not sure if you have, but can you do a video on pre-33, certified/slabbed, gold coins? i'd love to hear your perspective on those coins and they're value, especially slabbed. thanks

Eagles are too popular for their own good meaning most sellers want ridiculous premium over gold value. I now am buying Sovereigns and half sovereigns for fractional purchases as I can find them with no or very low premium if I look. Very liguid but better buys.

I have sort of come to be that way myself. I've more or less thinned my stack down into about 5 or 6 core products from well over 20 when I first started and was still figuring out what I liked personally the most.

I'm quite fond of both Eagles and Buffalos and have roughly an equal number of both. I think they both look great in their own way. However... I've found that the gold Buffalo is like a cold pat of butter--way too easy to scratch and dent. Also, I think that many new stackers don't fully understand that BOTH Eagles and Buffalos contain one full ounce of pure 24K gold. The only difference is that, besides the ounce of 24K gold, the Eagles have almost a full ounce (0.09 ozt) of a silver/copper alloy **added** to the gold to greatly increase the durability of the coin... thereby bringing the rating of the whole coin down a bit to 22K (even though that full ounce of pure gold is still there).

Your decimal point is in the wrong place. They have 0.09 ozt silver / copper. From the US Mint. Composition is 91.67% gold, 3% silver, balance copper with a reeded edge. Weight and diameter differs between the one, half, quarter, and tenth ounce sizes. The one ounce coin, $50 face value, is 1.287 inches (32.70 mm) in diameter, contains one gold troy ounce and weighs 1.0909 troy ounces (33.931 g).

Never owned a Silver Eagle, highly doubt I ever will. They're ugly. With Silver I don't like anything less than 10oz; takes up too much space.

Personally I think you should stack from the mint of your country so I do American eagle and maple leaf since I reside in both countries
