I have tons of projects on the needles. I like to be able to fit my knitting to my mood: intricate that takes concentration, mindless stockinette in the round/garter stitch flat, all of the previous in large vs. portable, etc. It makes me happy.

I’m definitely a multiple project knitter. But, occasionally, I try to finish the oldest projects, just to clear my mind 😊

Monogamous here. I drag whatever project (mostly seaters and shawls) I’m working on everywhere with me. Exceptions are when I’m traveling with a lot of luggage - I may start a new smaller project (socks) for that trip. I have done multiple projects at the same time, but I usually feel pressured having several things going at once.

multi projects are good for your body and your mind. I always have several projects on the go; sewing, quilting, knitting.

Per your definition of monogamous crafter that fits me. I have one knit, one crochet, one cross stitch project going at all times and alternate working on them. I'll knit or cross stitch daytime crochet evening or former and knit evening. Works well for me! Having a pair of socks on needles at all times for portable knittkng is a great idea and I'll be adding that to my activity so I'll have two knit projects on my needles today. Thanks for that idea Chloe! Enjoyable episode as always. ❤

Definitely a multiple project knitter. I like a simple one, a small one and then whatever takes my fancy! I do tend to have a blanket on the go too. ❤

I’m not happy until I have 7 different WIPs going at once!😂 My mood can change mid-knit and I need to have an emergency project going at all times (emergency project is one that I can grab on my way out the door which requires very little concentration). Miles of stockinette can hold my interest for only a short time and complicated lace leaves me exhausted after one full repeat so alternate projects are essential to my sanity.

I am mostly a sock knitter. I have tried casting on multiple sock projects, but find I become so committed to finishing a particular pair that the others get neglected. Occasionally I will knit a hat or cowl, but I still find myself focused on one project over the others. I would definitely fall into the monogamous camp. In fact, I recently decided to stop trying to do multiple projects and just work on one at a time and then move on to the next. That’s what works for me.

Multiple project knitter/crafter with a split personality here! I love having a lot of different projects on the go, but I struggle with the guilt of not finishing things faster. I'm going to apply some of your reasoning to see if I can combat the guilt factor (because I'm never EVER going to be a single project person!).

I can see, that there are a lot of us, who has more than one project at a time. I like to have, something that requires my full attention, at the moment I’m working on a sweater, with falling leaves. And at the same time, I have a lace pattern on my needles, as well as a pair of socks and I’m also working on a mew pattern, that I hope to release in the near future ❤

Definitely have several projects going, I need a small mindless project for waiting in the ferry line and Dr waiting rooms, one that is trying something new, and then anything else that I happen to have the yarn when I find the pattern because that's exciting 😁 I do dig out all WIPs in July and decide if I want to reclaim the yarn or do the project. Usually I find a basic scarf I forgot I was making. Recently found a snowman I started over 12 years ago and only needed to be sewn together HAHA! Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡

@@cloknits Right? I had moved it to several different apartments and just forgot about it. It is on the top of my "sewing party" pile to do on movie night. I hope I don't find any more rogue projects as I move things around to paint Lol!

I usually have 3 projects going at once: crochet, tunisian mosaics, and knitting. As of today, I have 1 sweater on the needles, one baby blanket in crochet, and the Islands CAL by @TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar also in crochet I like different sizes and/or fabrics due to my climate. High in the Andes desert mountains, we get 3 seasons every day: freezing cold, fresh and cool, and blazing hot. I won't work with a big wool blanket or an adult wool sweater (once past the yoke), during the heat of the day. Freezing cold is for the big wool blanket, and cool for wool sweaters. I also get bored pretty quickly, so another reason for multiple projects. I can't imagine just one at a time. Also, like you, I love feeling the different yarns and seeing different colors. PS...after your last video, I purchased the Ranunculos pattern. I may start it before I finish one of my current projects--lots of new techniques for this newbie knitter.

Monogamous knitter here. I may have a pair of socks on the needles, an embroidery project and maybe a sewing project. I'm also a process maker. I always feel a bit let down when a project is finished.

I am more a bigamus knitter, one big project, and a portable project to go, mitts, socks or baby clothes. I like to finish what I start, but I do see the value of having multiple projects, especially in different size needles. I will always let everything wait when my spouse asks for anything, he gets priority.

I have a few wips at a time most of the time. Crochet and knit. I am ok with letting something hibernate for a while and most of the time I do eventually finish them. More than 4 or 5 active projects will give me anxiety but then I just decide which ones to put away. And socks don't count haha

Me over here with probably 25 WIPs and ideas for more… I enjoy the designing process (I mostly design what I make and create & sell patterns) but I get super bored with the actual making part - I have to switch to something else after 1 hour maximum but sometimes less… working now on actually finishing projects before I start a new one and getting through the boredom in order to enjoy having a finished object. Its hard! 😫
@patternandcraft
@patternandcraft 4 күн бұрын
I also get bored writing out patterns, but that’s a different issue… the exciting part is coming up with a new idea and problem solving & strategizing how to make it… not so much writing the pattern out. Although I do enjoy making stitch charts 🤔

Occasionally I’ll get super focused on a project, particularly gifts… and end up finishing those but if I set it down and lose momentum on it I’ll probably get distracted by something else. I kind of feel that I’ll somewhat limit myself to not starting a really similar project to something else I’m already working on.. as much as cross stitch projects really differ from each other. Something has to be different about it like colors or this one is in beads or silk etc 😅 but for crochet I think I have an amigurumi in progress, a granny-square-esque blanket needing the pieces attached, some really cool yarn from Europe I can’t quite decide what to do with…
