I know this video is an older one but just watching it...YES, the sunset clouds are totally the vibe in your sweater, Jackie! I didn't get that from seeing the skein alone, but seeing it knit up, it brings several memories of when I was a child at a Florida beach at sunset and another time at the pool when I was about 12 (Im 58 now!) and the sunsets looked just like that. I can see those moments in my mind and totally feel what you were going for and it is absolutely stunning and heartwarming all at the same time.

Amy!!! I was brought back to this episode after a recent comment and then saw yours! I’m not sure what happened with KZbin but I do not remember ever seeing this comment when it first came out bc I would have responded immediately!! I’m so sorry your daughter was sick and so glad she got better! How is she now? And also, I’m so so happy that we could bring you any bit of comfort during that stressful time!! ♥️♥️♥️

Loved this episode! Wish I could have gone to Knit City Toronto. I’ll definitely be at Montreal next year. Your description of the event was so heart-felt. I would love a whip down. I have too many wips but keep casting on! Thanks for showing all your great projects. I always get inspired by your choices - oh, so maybe YOU’RE the cause of my wip situation! 😂

Something always flies into my queue when I watch your podcast. This time it was Chaika and the Serendipity Sweater. And Knit City...WOW! Loved meeting you both. Sonder is a favorite of mine. And thank you for taking the time to muse about colors with me. I knew I wanted Dreamstate because it is beyond gorgeous. But the biggest surprise is how drawn I was to Resolve. It's so out of my comfort zone. But somehow so perfect. Seeing Jackie's Twigs and Melissa's designs (in person) were the highlights of Knit City. Keep up all the knitty fun!

Hi! Love love love your podcast! Thank you! I like you Jackie was dying to make the poopoo jacket and cast on immediately when it came out in English. I used Nutiden held with Isager alpaca 1. I got gauge with a 4 mm. It is not super airy but it’s really light and lovely to wear. It really did not grow when I blocked it. I was actually hoping it would grow in length. The icord bind off turned out well on the sleeves as it cinched them in. Just thought I’d chime in as I know you have lots of Nutiden 😊 You and Carmen are so inspiring! Thank you! I loved hearing about your KnitCity experience, thank you for sharing. I was there and the Sonder Yarn booth was so busy! It was great to finally touch it and experience the beauty of the yarn. I am full swing summer knitting this year in an effort to knit through some stash yarn. I've completed the 'Be My Tulip' top, I'm nearly done the 'Joni' and plans for the 'Nila' (both Natasha Hornby). I live in Fergus, too bad you couldn't make it this year...next year I hope! Take care for now.

It's so funny that you got to help Melissa, because when I first found your channel, you gave me a very strong vibe of Espace Tricot channel when hosts were Melissa and Lisa. You've got a similar style of your knits, which I really love, and it inspires me so much (it is dangerous to watch you, I keep casting on 😂 hence keep buying extra needles) And yes, we need to see your wip downs, please ❤

I suggest on the Ppoppo cardigan gather the shoulder seam and then use iron on interfacing on that seam. Use an interfacing designed for knits. I think it will support the structure. Plus you could treat it like a kimono and add a 3" satin ribbon. Weave it through the back & tie in the front.

A hugely entertaining podcast once again. I love your Twigs sweater and the Salty Air pullover is a great mod. So - the Ppoppo sweater - i hate to say it but I think you should frog the whole darned thing and then use that gorgeous yarn combination to make something you will love. I expect you'll never really love it as it is (and life is too short to keep knits we don't love.) Pop it in the freezer, and then have a frog party xx

The Serendipity cabled pullover is gorgeous, added to my queue, thank you! Nothing wrong with mushy, less-than-crisply defined cables imo. Same goes for colorwork with less stark color contrast (though I do totally love your Twigs, too). I don’t think it has to be highly defined and high contrast to be beautiful, nor does it take away from the pattern or yarn choice. It’s just personal preference. Thanks for your long podcasts…more time to knit ❤

So affirming to hear your thoughts on the therapeutical benefits of knitting. In addition to everything you said, I also often think of the experiences encounter in the knitting journey ( the ah ha moments, the connections, the challenges navigated… whatever) create a some thin of a data bank of emotional knowledge that can be referenced as we move through some of the more complex experience that life can throw our way. Love, love, love that Twigs sweater. I have some beautiful yarn in my stash that I think might work with similar mods - so grateful Jackie that you have put some yardage-used notes on Ravelry. Currently working on a summer tee with some of the yarn I bought at Knit City - (Mesh Crop Top by Irene Lin) and next up will be either Twigs, or a Rib Wave I think with another Kint City purchase Jackie help me choose from Sonder Yarn Co.

Thx so much for sharing your thoughts on Knit City! I'm still crying inside that I had to miss it. But everything you said about what you experienced makes me want to volunteer for the next one in Montreal! Beautiful knits again today ladies, and I think my favourite is the Chaika, which is not one that would have interested me but your version Jackie is amazing and gives it a whole different look! It is the year of cardigan for me as well. Already finished the Malin by Moonstrick Knits; casting on a summer version of the Three Season cardi by Wool and Pine; and have two more on my list including the new awesome one by Moonstruck Knits (Nexxuss) that I absolutely want to knit in Sonder Yarn.

Jackie, your upside down Poppa is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! When you first stepped into the frame with it on I actually gasped because it looked so elegant and gorgeous on you-- totally totally Olivia Pope! But when you put it on right side up, I agree with you, I didn't think that looked great. Please don't touch it --don't frog anything about it!-- and just wear it upside down! I even liked the shorter backside. And I agree that it will be perfect over yoga/meditation wear.😍

New wave knitting, Jeanette is doing a Kal with her staple tee pattern is awesome (she's in IG and KZbin) she also has a pattern collection called the staples, skirt, socks, SWEATER! They're totally custom gauge and with the new updates she's working on you won't even have to calculate with her formula the pattern will do it itself... hooray, i have friends to keep me company this morning as i work on the last bits of this test-knit for Teti L. -- incidentally, i've learned the key to surviving an all-over ribbed pattern is to switch to knitting continental, so much more comfortable than holding the yarn in my right hand (which i otherwise prefer)! and so interesting to hear that all these SYC BFL-masham knits grow lengthwise -- this project is in the Lux Sport, & perhaps i should make the body shorter than planned... and funny, i ALSO have some wool/linen yarn (from Walk Collection) that i've been trying to decide what to do with, but especially because it doesn't ever get very warm here, what was i thinking buying it? maybe a shawl...
@lauraalicewatt
@lauraalicewatt 7 ай бұрын
and random question as a p.s., and not meant as a criticism -- but is there any way to turn down the intensity of your extra lighting just a tiny bit? in this episode it is washing out both your faces and sometimes the knits themselves...? it is almost impossible to see the different colors in Jackie's Twigs, for instance -- they just all look pale.
@lauraalicewatt
@lauraalicewatt 7 ай бұрын
one more comment: in the throw-on staple cardigan department, also check out Ailbíona's Timepiece cardigan -- i've made one in nutiden + suri, and it's SO scrumptious, i have the feeling there will be more soon... and love hearing your tales from KnitCity -- last weekend i attended the annual Icelandic KnitFest here, in contrast with only 16 or so vendors, but it similarly felt overwhelmingly amazing and creative and inspiring (although i definitely bought more yarn than i needed to! got to support all the local Icelandic wool-makers and yarn-dyers...)
