1.Isn't there option for higher education (MBA) by taking study leave in PFRDA? 2.can u share the name of your engineering college?

1. There was no proper sabbatical policy at that time and even if I were to negotiate, I would have had to sign a bond and I didn't want to do that. 2. NIT Kurukshetra. But whatever inferences you draw from this information don't really matter to be honest. You can be from any any field/qualification/college :)

A quick question if someone who has a work ex in HR for 5 years and wants to change his domain into Marketing and sales what would your recommended B school be to get a good job role after an executive MBA (either from IIMs or ISB). Also what should the person do in that one year of Bschool to make the transition of domain smooth? Thanks for such informational videos. Helps guys like us a lot. Kudos!

It is difficult to drastically change industries/roles with substantial pre-MBA work experience. There can be intermediate moves though post-MBA that can take you closer...

@@vaibhavnagar91 Thanks a lot for the response. ISB offers a one year programme which is equivalent to a normal two year MBA, by doing that can one expect to change their domain? And what intermediary steps should one take to smoothen the transition of domains? Doing courses or certificates and if so from where. Sorry for such a loaded question! Thanks once again.

Sir does isb gets same job profile as iim A 2 years program. Like in consulting, Investment banking product management etc.

Investment banking generally follows internship route so ISB is a laggard there. Other than that, ISB gets the same and senior roles for all industries and roles compared to IIM 2 year because ISB has experienced candidates. Average work ex is around 4 years or so and there are people in different brackets of work ex (2-20 years)

why didn't you do 2 year MBA course? that course is much better than 1 year right? you could also do finance or business course that would help you a lot bcz you have GIC experience.

It's about the question of fit. The class composition as well as compensations in 2 year MBA courses in India is quite different from the 1 year full time MBA courses. 80% people have < 2 years of work ex so basically its a fresher's class. Consequently, the compensation also drops a little. I wouldn't have been a good fit. Would like to know about what finance or business courses you are talking about that generate the same value?

@@vaibhavnagar91 i was talking about CFA but it's only good if you have specilization in banking/finance. some say this is a good add on type course i.e if you are graduate from tob MBA college with a degree from finance you could do this course bcz this course also gives you further specialization. This course is like a feet wide and miles deep and on another hand mba can be seen as mile wide and a feet deep. Many Bankers do this course bcz this does help them considerably.

@@hunterspecial9381 CFA doesn't really help bankers. Maybe front end investment bankers but mostly suitable for buy side asset manager or bank treasury managers. Yeah CFA/FRM etc are there but they won't really help you in a career transition or big jump etc. Only good if you already have some experience in the related field and wanna go deeper...that's why I didn't opt for these courses. If I go into finance etc then later maybe.

Do consulting companies hire one year mba from iims? I know isb lets you join consulting.

Yes they do. ISB doesn't "let" you join consulting....Consulting firms "want" ISB grads :)

Hi buddy, thanks for this info, just a small question, Given the average batch age, wouldn't pgpx be preferable for a 31-year-old than pgp?

That's just 1 factor - age. There are multiple other factors affecting decision making as well...
