Your old man seems like my kind of guy. Word to the wise, when you do the intake/exhaust combo if you don't do a tune as well, at least a bolt-on like the FuelPak, you'll wind up with burned exhaust valves.
@lifeofjustinjames

ah I know, I'll be doing all of that in one purchase (in the future) Fuelfpak, intake, and exhaust. and then in the farther future, maybe a 1200 conversion? haha we'll see, gotta save some pennies especially during a time like now, stay safe and thanks for tuning in!

It seems to be a rare thing that someone buys a sportster, especially an 883, and keeps it. I bought the iron 883 as my first bike too and I just love everything about it. I love that it’s just a motorcycle. Nothing fancy, nothing special, just old school, good times, get down the road looking cool and sounding cool too. I imagine I’ll want more power too at some point and first I’ll put a stage 1 on it and then maybe do the 1250 kit from hammer performance if I just can’t part with my sporty. Harley has some awesome bikes in that soft tail line that sure makes it hard not to trade up for one but I just love this 883 and the cost of ownership just can’t be beat either.

Very true! I do miss my Iron. By all means is a very great capable bike! I reached a point of natural progression where I needed more power. Def stay tuned for when the riding season picks back up as I can't wait to share my Street Bob build. Been working on a few upgrades here during the winter.

Sweet bars brother! Hey I threw a frame mounted front fairing on my 2019 883 and it’s a dream on the highway. I commute with mine but could easily do 500+ miles on it now. I actually feel the difference in power at high speed since I’m not a big parachute anymore....... snappy on up past 90.

My first Harley was a 2005 883 and it was a fun little bike to ride around town but I was wanting to take trips so I got my ultra classic. If you’re ever in a spot to where you can afford 16-20k for a bike and it doesn’t have to be new then find a street glide or an ultra. Mine is a 2012 I got for right under 14k

Say j, would the handlebars on your iron feel a bit mushy when you would get it up to 75-80? Just got one and it's the first bike I've ever ridden, I'm just a bit uncomfortable at high speeds. It's like the handle bars slightly rock side to side and it feels a lil unstable. I have 10" z bars for context..

I have owned a 2020 Honda Rebel 500 for 6 months, I'm looking at moving to an 883 Sportster and will be taking a massive hit on the Rebel. That right there should tell you something. To quote one of my riding friends, the Rebel does it's best work parked out front of a cafe.

How is the handling with these handlebars? Are they comfortable? Thanks
@lifeofjustinjames
@lifeofjustinjames 4 жыл бұрын
Handling is great! It's a narrow bar, doesn't have much pullback so it puts your body position forward. As far as comfort I've already upgraded to 10" handlebars because my back couldn't handle 45 min or more with my body position too forward. I did a review on my channel on these handlebars, check it out.

@@HAILProphecy___ Your welcome, I will say these do look bad ass, but the positioning might be the same as stock. My back hurt a lot with these bars. If you're looking for more comfort, I would recommend higher bars with pull back. My current Lucky Daves T bars are the best. You will have to extend cables though. But if you choose these bars, they are a def style upgrade!

@@lifeofjustinjames yeah the style is badass! I want lucky dave's san Diego, but that's not in my price range yet with all the cable/wires and having someone to do it for me. When I get extra money saved up, I'll get those bars. But these bars brings out the wicked 883 look
