Hi Chris ! I'm French, living in France and feel exactly the same : more and more taxes, more and more crimes, less and less public services such as healtcare, justice, police... I'm the" good guy" in this fully mad Western society. Which reward for this ? Nothing. Watching your video strengthen me that I'm very conscious and wise - as you are now - about the decline of the West. This decline leads us straigth to physical and mental problems. Thanks a lot. Keep up sharing your feelings, this is the best part of your video 👍

Spot on brother. I'm a dual citizen of Australia and the USA and I fee the same way. From my experiences livinig in and traveling to other countries, I think non-Western countries offer a better life all around nowadays. That's why Russia recently started a new temporary residency visa called the Shared Values Visa. It's for Westerners who feel disillusioned with the direction their countries are going socially/politically and want to move to Russia where traditional moral and family values are important. For me, I'm thinking half the year in the forested mountain of Russia, and half the year in tropical beach countries would suit me very nicely. Keep up the good vibes mate!

Just needed good clean food which gravitate towards anyways but hard to find non GMO produce in the US, not to mention REAL meat. My body thanked me. I had so much energy and lost almost 10 lbs and several inches off my waist in just 1 week. We are moving there just as soon as we can save up for our DTV visas.

I do things slightly different. I stay in each country for a year or two, at times three years before I move on to the next country. I would not be able to live in hotels and constant travel. I prefer to have a base, a home where I don't have to have any schedule. And it is so much cheaper to have a long term lease. I cook my own food and have my own fridge that I can fill up. What happens when you are sick? Are you going out for every meal?

Hello Chris, yet another excellent video with reflective observations of where things have arrived at and trending to = further confusion. I'm over in Bali at the moment, having a break away from Australia, and observing and drawing many of the same conclusions you have and are - confusion and fragmentation, like dogs chasing cars and whatever prize that brings, more often than not minced up by the wheels. What you also describe about staying sane in an unsane world is taught in stoicism, and that is to treat your mind as a citadel, build a fortress around it, protect and preserve it at all costs, even when it means cutting off or walking away from things and people that are toxic to your mind and subsequently your physical health and wellbeing. In the heart of Thailand, beneath the sun's warm embrace, An American man finds his tranquil place. Years have passed since he left his homeland, Now, America seems a chaotic, confusing land. Once a bustling city, now a distant dream, Where stress and noise drown out the stream. He recalls the rush of the subway's roar, Now replaced by silence and the ocean's shore. In Thailand, life flows like a gentle stream, With smiles from locals that feel like a dream. Markets filled with colors, scents that entice, Each day is a gift, each moment precise. Yet in his heart lies a bittersweet ache, For America’s pace feels like a high-stakes race. Traffic jams and deadlines, a relentless grind, In this new paradise, he seeks peace of mind. He thinks of the chaos that once felt so real, The constant pressure to earn and to deal. Now he savors the sunsets that paint the sky bright, Trading boardrooms for beaches, stress for delight. But memories linger like shadows at dusk, Of friends left behind and dreams turned to rust. In Thailand’s embrace, he has found his way, Yet echoes of home haunt him day after day. With each passing year, he learns to let go, Finding joy in the simple, letting gratitude flow. An American man in a land far away, Navigating life’s mess in a peaceful ballet. So here he stands with a heart full of grace, In Thailand’s warm arms, he has found his place. Though America calls with its siren song’s stress, In this vibrant land, he has learned to find rest.

Trashy people get online and make derogatory comments about expats and passport bros, but the best advice I've ever received is from a boss I had when I was very young: go where you're loved. If people don't like you or what you're doing, too bad for them. I'm living life according to my moral commitments, not yours. Keep on truckin, brother. I'll be out there with you in 6 months or so. I don’t know, I’m from australia and I went through the whole stuff my shifty country phase 15 years ago when I left for a decade and lived in asia. But for me anyway the grass is greener thing dissipates over time as i just learnt all countries are a mess and for the locals and at times me in the end the these countries are in so many ways a lot more screwed up than my own country and I came to appreciate certain things back home before I took for granted. Now my time is basically split 50/50 between asia and back home. The worlds a mess and there’s no real escape from the stupidity of human societies. I’m looking into building a spaceship or living alone in a forest somewhere.

You can always make new friends and acquaintances wherever you go and travel. Living alone for awhile is actually a great spiritual thing because you realize that you and you alone have the capacity to create either happiness or depression and a meaningful life, not anyone else. A balance of contact and withdrawal can be the basis for a good life.

So true! Build wealth in the US where you can leverage the strength of the dollar. Then leave to live in a society with common sense values that work. We live outside SF and haven't been into the city for over 5 years! We used to go all the time. Now, help me convince my wife to move to Malaysia. 😂😂

I am alberta canada and sure thailand is more complicated and no free medical or safety nets as you age. A simple lifestyle financially speaking very little difference ... that said it all depends how you want yo live. I am in Thailand now going through the exercice of buying in Hua zhin and my "guess" is will keep Thailand as a winter destination as that will be my minimum stress and keep my canada residence status.

Thailand presents the Canada departure rules and then the much talked about Thailand possible future changes to foreigners living there. Just make a pick and enjoy 😉

Preach it. That's why we are leaving in 2026 as soon as I can retire. We will be moving overseas and we feel relief at it - our expenses keep going up until the point where it is unsustainable.... we've ALWAYS done the right thing and paid more than our fair share and when it came time to try to get help for my adult daughter so that she could live independently and have the medical care that a multitude of doctors said she needed.... well that took 4 yrs fighting the government and 2 appeals. I had to know that she had insurance if anything ever happened to me and she was left without us. I can't live in a place where people get away with theft and assault on the regular (and squatting in my home if I leave without repercussions) and I can't get help for a disabled daughter. Our country is so afraid of "offending" everyone that all the motivation to contribute meaningfully to society is disappearing. Today society thinks "why should I work so hard to get an "A" in school if I can do nothing and get a "C" ", all because no one gets any "F"s anymore? That's kinda where we are at. So we are leaving and looking forward to the peace. I'm also looking forward to the big food and pharma industries not being so influential in policy in the country I live in. REALLY looking forward to that.

I totally agree with you Chris and I would go even further than you in saying that the U.S. is devolving and headed in the wrong direction for decades now. It's original values are not being upheld and I would say I strongly dislike what's going on and the direction it's heading towards. And it doesn't matter who you vote for or how much you protest the system in America will grind on inexorably because it's a plutocracy run by a few corporations and wealthy individuals.

I was thinking how to argue against your complexity argument. But I have got to say I think you are spot on about your argument about if "you have nothing to lose" I think you are completely right... And I think this is the biggest reason of dissent in the west! I am from Denmark, a utopia according to Bernie Sanders. (and it is a nice place, you should visit if you have the time). And don't get me wrong I am a liberal. But you are so right. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but we are for ideological reasons (human rights etc) putting petty crimanals ahead of regular citizens. I am drunk right now, so anyone wanting to discuss my point go ahead but excuse me if I am too excesive.
