Australia is out of control and we all want the new car credit cards loans for this loans for that. Eating out is insane here I still do it but u really feel it because fuel costs and if u shop at Cole’s / Woolworths etc u get 1 bag if ur lucky with minimal shit for 120 Aussie. We taxed so much on everything. We get double taxed on fuel our utilities that should be cheap as we have all the resources are not cheap because the government sells offshore and we buy back at high prices but governments get their nice little kick backs so they don’t give a shit our tolls on roads that our taxes are meant to take care of are high to buy and rent prices are through the roof. I would much rather be a cheap Charlie on a beach in a modest little condo exploring and enjoying life than working as many do 60 plus hrs a week to keep up with inflation and costs of living. I wish I had this mind set even just a decade ago I would be out of Australia already

I’m in the Midwest in the United States Michigan to be exact. I just went out for a pizza dinner with a gal. We both got small brick oven style pizzas. They’re about 12 inches in diameter. She took half of both pizzas home donated for her kids who were in dance school. And they would be hungry when they got home. We were going to get one pizza, but I knew in the back of my mind that she was going to have to cook when she got home and it would be quite late to be cooking for her kids. She’s a super nice lady so I offered let’s get two pizzas eat half each and bring the rest home to your kids. She was delighted! It was $56 with two cocktails and two pizzas. We had vodka, cranberry juice drinks in a small rocks glass! Highway robbery. I am retired as of August 1 closing down my household here getting ready to leave for the winter. I’m getting a little taste of snow right now. I hung with my sister’s family for Thanksgiving. I’ll do the same for Christmas and then buy an airplane ticket for January 15. I’m planning on flying into Bangkok at this point and staying for about a week or two in Bangkok. And then I’m going to venture on down to Pattaya or maybe a little bit further south. Looking to rent a scooter for transportation. And I’ll be experiencing the buses. Thanks for the videos. Your lifestyle is exactly what I’m looking for. Call me cheap Charlie I don’t care! I love it just looking to stretch my pension money from 35 years of operating heavy equipment. 58 years old, looking to find a life. I feel that my career consumed me said to say. I’m ready to start living! Hope to see you around Pattaya soon! I’m a new subscriber to your channel. Take care.

I assume you've been to LOS a few times. If anyone plans to sell up and move here I'd highly suggest you do a 90-120 day stay to start and rent a condo. Live like you're living there permanently, then go home. Maybe you decide to stay in the USA, maybe 50/50 time or maybe you are good to 100% move but that 90-120 non-tourist mode has really worked for a few guys. Not all guys moved 100%. just an opinion

But the closer I've got to retirement the less I go out drinking. I still enjoy 1 or 2 mad nights a week in Patts, but increasingly most nights I go out for dinner, night markets, cinema or just 1 or 2 beers and a few games of pool etc. Spending lots of money is not = having fun. My retirement will be next year so hopefully I'll see you in Jomtien or Pattaya. I absolutely love the place. There's only family here in Wales to keep me here, but as my son says.... I have a duty to be happy for myself. I do intend to visit family in UK on holidays, and even have them come out to Thailand to see them. Life is too short. Greetings from Swansea. Just found your channel. I am retired but COPD disabled. I am contemplating to retire to Jomptien or Hua Hin in a retirement home. If you should have any information or know people in the same situation, I would be so grateful for it. I wish you the very best and cheers to you

It’s amazing that so many people are reluctant to move to Thailand. Have been here for almost 3 years and all I keep hearing from friends back home are the cost of living expenses are getting crazy. Even if costs go up 10% here in Thailand it doesn’t hurt me financially. I estimate my costs of living expenses in Thailand are 1\4 of what they would be back in Australia.

Hi Wyn it's great you can live happy on your budget I think if I had a choice living UK or Thailand on your budget I would pick Thailand must be far better for anyone's mental health to be in a warm climate not 10 months of UK rain , I have i lived in Thailand for a year on more of a budget I had to return to the UK as my brother past away, my job I left was offered back to me I made the decision to except it, I have done a lot of thinking about my budget my problem is I like the bars and the girls plus travelling,, if I work 3 more year I would have enough but I always said I would rather be in Thailand with the money I have than live in the UK the 3 years will pass but will be tough, can you get any female company on your budget or have you not bothered your budget out there you would need double here in the UK and cold dark nights watching TV like most retired people do your channel is unique it's very good to understand living a 1000 baht a day lifestyle cheers wyn
