I wasn’t the biggest Deion “prime time” fan during his playing days. But you had to respect his talent. Even before he became the JSU coach, when he talked football and broke down the game, you could see his teaching/coaching abilities were special. Watching him w his players shows the natural, authentic connection he has w this younger generation. Some say he changed the game as a player. I wouldn’t be surprised if his impact as a coach will be even greater.

Deon Sanders, i want to tell you, i love how you do your dance after scoring my son used to cherish you, he would do your dance, he just had been playing football about two weeks, my son was murdered when he was 12 years old, i never let him play football until Sept 1996 ,. he had played baseball and he played one year up, he was batting 80-90 when he was 8 years old. he also played basketball , he was a point guard , he averaged 32 points, rebound and steal and assist were all high. everytime i see you dance, i smile because it reminds me of him. thank you for all you do, you are so positive and supportive of all the kids. ednapmorris

As Black People in America, we've been able to find "Purpose" in the midst of Slavery, Black On Black Crime, Denial, Neglect, Being Without, and other types of Adversity in which some Nationalities cannot identify with! In The Black Community, answers and action have to come as for mistreating one another, investing in our communities, increased focus on academic accomplishment, being aware of political ploys, and with each solution, "Purpose" comes with it!

Yes homecoming is great but seeing leadership that looks like you, that corrects you, encourages you as well teaches your history and prepares you for reality is immeasurable. Cosby highlighted HBCUs, here goes Prime doing the same thing, but our minds are so conditioned that we think only PWIs are the way to go, we have to recondition our minds to love ourselves, we are more than enough!

My name is Coach Lincoln Phillips, former soccer coach at Howard university ( 1970-1980). Howard U is the first and “only” HBCU to have ever won an NCAA championship…not only once but twice! I am also the first Black to have won an NCAA Championship. My performance as one of the winningest coaches, on every level of soccer in the US is a matter of record. What My “Beloved” Coach Prime is attempting to do. I did it….Develop not only Champions on the field of play but also off the field. My recent Autobiography Rising Above and Beyond the Crossbar is a testament to my contribution to the art of coaching. At age 81, I really hope I get a chance to meet Coach Prime some day soon. I pray each day to God for Coach Prime to remain strong, healthy, wealthy and wise!… and to continue the fantastic work he is doing, not only for Jacksonville University, but all HBCU’s and every living Black person in this world.
