Agreed! I’ve owned 4 BMW’s but recently decided to purchase a 2019 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T with manual transmission. I absolutely love it! Even better, do t have to register a new battery, it has an honest to goodness physical dipstick, and I have a spare tire! Things I took for granted with my BMW’s not to mention overall reliability.

Try using a screwdriver or a 6”socket extension , and put it in the hole in the top clip of the ignition coil. Gently wiggle and pull. It will give you the extra leverage you need to pull the coil up easily, and amazingly won’t usually cause any damage.

My 02 camry, changing the 4 spark plugs takes 10-15 mintues to take my time.
@pilskadden4 жыл бұрын
You can't compare a 4 cylinder Camry to a V8 BMW or any V8 for that matter. Lets talk about a V6 Camry then, there you have to remove the upper intake to change the back 3 spark plugs.
@WoZIMoo4 жыл бұрын
Not really fair, inline-4 vs V8. Toyota uses crappy electrical connectors for their coils though. I remember breaking 2 out of 4 when disconnecting them on my 2007 Camry, common problem on Toyotas.
@MrCROBosanceros4 жыл бұрын
And try to do that on V6 Camry. Try to replace a PCV valve on Toyota 2.4 L four-cylinder 2AZ-FE engine.

@pfsantos0074 жыл бұрын
Not familiar with those models and the video didn't show. Was that crack in the rubber boot before or after the MAF? Was the engine light on with a code for the mixture? That would produce a pretty big vacuum leak, forcing the ECU to adjust the mixture. Had a similar problem on a friend's '06 Suzuki Grand Vitara.

CARS are no longer made to be serviced by the owners for the most part.For one thing ,you really need a hand held scope and the knowledge to use it.Also you need a fairly decent tool box or chest.Some cars need special tools to change their brand of part.VISE GRIPS ARE NOT UNIVERSAL TOOLS !!! haha The same goes for crescent wrenches,HAMMERS are the EXEMPTION.I used to be a mechanic years ago,on euro-pee-on cars,I can tell you in general cars are much better as a whole ,better fuel economy ,more power per cubes,longer between service,etc.BUT they do need proper service ,as they are prone to issues if you don't service regularly.1920-1970 cars are way more forgiving,good gas ,good spark at the right time ,clear muffler,and most will run.But the new cars have sensors,mostly for emissions,if one out the say twenty is not working properly the computer throws a fault or puts the car in limp mode.Most old school mechanics like me can't fix that right the first time.WE just don't have the tools or skills.Clean air comes at a cost and it's NOT CHEAP,Here is a mechanic at the battlefield front lines with this car.

Feeling is mutual. I owned 3 2001 E39’s. They are real money pits, gotta say though i6 motors are easy to work on. The V8’s in a other hand, not so much. To me, any BMW pass it’s warranty is not worth owning. Just lease a BMW and once it’s up, return it and don’t look back.😂

V6 Camry is easy ... remove the upper intake and you can see the plugs 40 mins max to change them. Fronts take 5 mins
@gzhang2074 жыл бұрын
SS103 s : that is very true. My first spark plug change was on Camry v6 (note: inexperienced). I changed them from the sides without taking off the manifold. However what made it difficult with my approach was a plug with broken wire from the boot. I was not experienced enough to remove the top as you suggested; in the end I found a tool that has more neck space to accommodate the broken wire and remove it from the side. Overall I feel Camry is design for repair. (Well mostly true, until 2010 Camry hides the PCV deep inside)
@DaytonaBlueHr4 жыл бұрын
At least this is easier to change plugs than on my 3000gt lol i had to remove my intake plenum and throttle body just to do the rear 3 sparkplugs 😂

Yes, every car in Europe has the same problem. They are small cars with small engines, and when you have for example 750i (in Europe this engine is very rare, almost non-existent due to taxes and fuel consumption) you have no place to repair it. Most prefer 730diesel. That's why we have a word: American cars are like a living room of ours. For exeample a drive a Smart Roadster, this car is as big as the hood of an American car
