Why I don't like Longchamp bags

In this video I share my quite personal reasons, why I don't like Longchamp bags: especially their most iconic one, the Longchamp Le Pliage Tote bag. Is it the brand Longchamp itself, or just certain bags from the brand? How well did my Le Pliage bag hold up? Why is the Nylon all bubbly and the corners rubbed open? Is Longchamp even worth it? And is there possibly a way better alternative to the classic Longchamp LePliage bags, like for example the Longchamp leather bags?

I can totally understand your reasons why you don’t like the le Pliage! I like mine just because they’re so carefree and easy to clean. I can use them with my kids without having to worry. I love your new purchases and CANNOT believe what a bargain you got!!! Wow! 😮🤯 Enjoy using them. ❤

I have a large one with a short handle and I only use it for storage or for groceries! I like my cross body strap ones and I would also like the ones with the longer shoulder strap. They are very durable and not really too noticeable so they don't attract thieves! Loving your leather ones! Thank you for the video!

I do agree Daniel: a long cross body strap or the longer handle version makes that bag way more practical! The bigger that bag, the more annoying (and painful) the short handles get to be worn 🙈. Thank you, I scored such great deals once again 🥰

Longchamp has been popular globally for what feels like forever! I enjoy Le Pliage spotting in old city-based movies! 😆 i love mine, yes there can be corner wear like any bag, but that bubbling? Never seen that before! Hah! Loved the plot twist! 💕

I think Longchamp has been popular in the US for a long while. I love the le pliage style. It’s so carefree but chic at the same time. Glad you came around to appreciating the brand. I own several including the extra long one exclusive to Nordstrom. I also have some we purchased in Paris with the Eiffel Tower. I think those are no longer made.

No idea what’s wrong with mine 😳😅 - but I have seen bubbly ones on the preloved market every once in a while. Always thought, it might happen, if you put them in the washing mashine. But when I bought mine, it wasn’t bubbly - and I myself never washed it 🙈

Hi! American here! About 8-ish years ago, I got on a real French kick and wanted French items, things French girls would have, all that. So I started looking and researching and buying what I could. Of course, in this, I discovered Longchamp. Once I knew what they were and started recognising them, I saw them everywhere! I guess it's a case of once you're looking- you notice it. I don't know if that totally helps in your question- does anyone else have any idea? :)

They’re for a certain lifestyle. I didn’t like them until I needed a waterproof bag like that for frequent work travel. I only like the energy longchamp. The others look dated to me.

Longchamp has been around for as long as I remember! I feel like my mom has had them for all my life 😆 I got my first LePliage tote (same size as your black leather one) when I was maybe 8 years old 😂😂 my nylon bags have never shown those bubbles 😬 so I’m a fan of the classic LePliages but also I’ve owned their leather bags as well and I have nothing but positive experiences from them as well - although some of the prices are veeeeery high

Coach wasn’t that well known in Germany, during my school time - so no hidden teenage trauma there 😁. I like the quality on most Coach bags (for some, the designs are a tad too close to other more expensive luxury brand designs for my liking.. so that it can feel like „stolen ideas“ and lack of creativity 🙈). But overall, I do like Coach and their bags (but I think I don’t own any Coach bags at the moment🤔)

When I saw these bubbly bags on the preloved market, I suspected someone might have put them in the washing machine. But when I bought my bag, it was not already bubbly - and I never washed it myself 🤔 … maybe it only gets bubbly after washing and some time passing 🤔

I find that the bag has a really good quality, but absolutely impractical. It is a huge black hole, it has no zipper where you can keep little things, it is difficult to get in and out...And if you fold it, it is still big because of the handle. Maybe the little ones are better.

I do agree, maybe a smaller size (with the longer handles) would have worked better for me aswell! Cause I quite enjoy that small, black leather one I just got 🖤

Up to this day I still do not understand the purpose of the Longchamp le pliage in the bigger size with the short straps (as the black one you show in the video)...😅 I personally started "seing" these bags 6-7 years ago when I stepped out of student Life and entered Job Life. And I did not particularly pay much attention to them. Then 3 years ago I started peeking into the more high end part of shopping and discovered this bag. At the beginning I did not understand the hype for a Nylon bag that expensive, but as also my style evolved, I bought the first one preloved - the shopper le pliage in small (so the one with the longer straps) in purple. I use it when I go on holiday. And since then I have bought two more in that size - a limited edition one which I wore "to death" and then exchanged it for a grey one as an everyday allrounder bag (I use it with an organizer insert). I also found preloved the bigger shopper bag, which the previous owner had brought back then to Longchamp and got Leather pieces at the corners!! I use that bag when I travel. And for my partner I bought the men's version of Le pliage - The Boxford Travelbag in S in the navy blue. It has Leather at the corners and a long strap to wear over the shoulder - perfect for a short trip. He tells me that on work travels people at the airport look at the bag and start a conversation 😂😂😂 I really loved the surprising twist of the Video where you showed us your fleamarket bargains. The bags are amazing!! 🤩🤩

Maybe my fault about it has been, to go for a biiiiig one first (with the short handles) - but I think, back when I bought mine, the long handle version might not already have been that wide-spread-known 🤔. I have to check out the men's version, cause I absolutely can see my hubby enjoy it aswell.
