I love how coach Thib lays it out. “You may have cardiac arrest and kidney failure overtime, but in my opinion the worst part is it will halt your gains” now THAT is a statement by a true gym going meathead. And believe me, I have more respect for this man than anyone. Just funny.

@jon smith your body isn't unique. It utilities both fat and protein for energy when in a deficit, it's biology. You just need to find what your daily calorie intake should be. It must be lower then what your eating.

@jon smith you might be eating too close to BMR and losing too much muscle as well. Plus if you're reducing carbs too much as a normally stressed out person you may be spiking cortisol too much causing you to retain body fat. THIBARMY has talked about this as well.

what if the reason you use caffeine stimulants before a workout is because I work 7 days a week construction , sometimes for weeks on ends, i think 23 days is max by provincial law and i work 10 hrs every day and i have no energy for a hour long workout AFTER GOING TO WORK but if i use caffeine, like 100 -200 mg its no problem going to the GYM BEFORE WORK 2 OR 3 X A WEEK. i mean straight caffeine as in coffee or 1/2 to a full serving 200 mg caffeine pill, NO PREWORKOUTS. too much shit in there, too much money and it pumps me up in the wrong places like 3/4 of way thru a workout , my hand muscles start pumping up and aching....not cool.

I have an espresso before a workout and that is all I have. Just gives me that little boost and I love coffee. I used to take pre workouts but that became a major problem when my tolerance increased. I will always drink coffee.....😏

Zinc Supplementation causing increased metallothionein crashed my Copper levels. Copper is needed to convert dopamine to adrenaline. So very low adrenaline levels. Probably high cortisol and low T. I had almost zero tolerance to exercise. I also gained gained an uncharacteristic amount of fat, about 25-30lbs which seemed un-loseable. Was a nervous wreck. Copper is also needed to retain calcium. With low calcium you cannot create melatonin (no quality sleep/high cortisol) or bone material. Hair/blood tests showed this. I am improving rapidly with 5-10mg of copper per day and 250-500mg of calcium hydroxyapatite per day. Be careful with the zinc supplementation often recommended in bodybuilding circles.

Awesome video. Also not mentioned, is that excessive stimulants keep the body in a sympathetic state, never allowing for parasympathetic recovery to take over, or limiting the power of the parasympathetic system. Lack of recovery, compounded, ends up accumulating a huge recovery debt... killing gains, and health.

Hehe Christian Thibaudeau I like your priority and how to lay things out: Heart and kidneys could fail long term, but that is not even the worst problem with stimulants ha ha what could be worse?. The worst is that you are killing your gains(Agreed) . I love this priority and thinking about optimal gains will eventually keep your health intact aswell. Fantastic! Trying to keep myself to coffee and green tee aswell as ALA and Carnitin. Longer type energy without crash, bloodpressure and heartrate are within normal. Also does not impact my sleep pattern.

Caffeine in and of itself is probably one of the safest drugs that you can take. The problem that comes is with the higher dosages, which can be avoided, but people build tolerance to stims, and in order to get the desired effects, people start to take more. But with higher dosages comes adverse side effects and potential long term damage to ones health.

I find that an hour gym session becomes a 2-hour session on pre workouts. Fatigue should be an indication to get the hell out of there and start recovery. All the cortisol buildup will eventually kill your gains when the pump decreases.

I use preworkout daily because I work out in the morning and I think it's a nice boost, but I do remember it hitting very different back when I started taking it. Maybe I'll try replacing it with a cup of coffee for a while and see how that affects my workouts. That way I can save that buzz for times when I actually reed it.

Been there done that. Up to 1800mg caffeine, 300mg dmaa among others. Heart racing and felt so pissed, from headaches, I flatout screamed in every rep/set. Took it in the morning and could often not get to sleep till the next morning. Worth it? Nope not that much, lol. You're tired and take it to get through your workout and all of a sudden you find yourself not being able to even feel like your normal "non-stimulant drugged" self without it. Tolerance builds up quick and it could easily take months to get back to normal, when passing recommended dosages. Recommended dose and only for getting through plateus, I'd say. Also, read up on the ingredients what they do. Do you even need it? Also, try to find what dosages actually do anything/too much. Stay away from bottles with really long lists of ingredients. They all too easily cause nausea. And boycott "proprietary blends", fn bs behaviour.
