Try to remember your talking most likely about children. Children with possibly mental health issues. Try to slow down and think about what you are doing. And with who. Is posting videos so important that get them upset worth it? Would you do this with kids in a hospital setting? Would you do it with your partners child? The majority of those who play destiny are children. It’s one thing for bungie to prey on kids like it does but what is your excuse? Takes two to tango. So sad so many like you just don’t slow down and think about what your doing. Families. Importance of life instead of ignorantly enabling and ignorantly interacting with most likely children. Do the right thing even though society seems to you to be saying “oh just do what you want” Though not really society more like a number of posters.

I relate to this, I just got a super demanding full time job and when I get home the last thing I want to do is "grind" some meaningless bounties but unfortunately if you want to be at the appropriate power level for raids and trials and GMs and shit that's what you have to do. The constant demand to powergrind just to be able to participate in the harder endgame modes is just very time consuming and I wanna play other stuff but tbh I'm working on my fomo management because at the end of the day none of this actually matters in life when you step out the front door.

They changed the seasonal power increase for that reason. The light increase only goes up by 10 points now between seasons, so if you hit the pinnacle cap from last season then you're already at the powerful cap for next season so any new endgame content that gets released you can do immediately now going into the new season.
@f.p.5410
@f.p.5410 3 жыл бұрын
@@f3nixfire It can be hard to hit the pinnacle if you work a full time job. For example, I've never been able to (I believe I got to 1316 this season, idk) but yeah the 10LL increase was a great improvement for me. As Azimuth said, it's all about FOMO management, as someone working full time (or if you just don't want to spend hours on bounties for whatever reason) you just have to accept that GMs are almost impossible for you. I reached the point where I still like the game even if I can't experience it fully. Who knows, maybe I'll hit pinnacle in Season of the Lost.
@f3nixfire
@f3nixfire 3 жыл бұрын
@@f.p.5410 Ya, I also work full time and have other games I like to play. I hit the pinnacle once during season of arrivals cuz it was an extra long season. I hit 1318 this time around and didnt even play the last month of the season. You dont really need to hit the pinnacle cap to experience everything in the game. With artifact power you can make up the difference and GM NF is the highest light level activity and even then you only needed to be 1325 to do GM NF. Anything above 1325 does nothing to help you. I hit 1334 without trying all that much. My season rank was only 132. So you can do everything in the game pretty much immediately from the start of the season. Light level doesnt have much impact like it used to.

Dude! You summed up my EXACT situation. I can't back, because it showed up on Game Pass. Which meant my brother and a couple of friends were able to play. So I installed it again and grabbed a season pass. Turns out all of my stuff, from 2018 was suddenly garbage. I needed to, basically, start all over on all 3 characters. Then I get into the game and it's like ... exactly the same, tedious grind as it's ever been. I did a strike and it was STILL the Inverted Spire. WTF? The same one I was doing, when it launched in 2017.
@seventh-hydra
@seventh-hydra 3 жыл бұрын
@@Weinmaste Nah it's the exact opposite. They already did wipe everything. And yeah, new PvP maps and strikes would be cool, but... But it's also kind of fucking stupid that you can't even play the Red War or the Forsaken campaigns anymore? That you can't go to Titan, Mars, Venus... That there's just a truckload of content outright missing, raids, strikes, quests, activities like escalation Protocols, weapons, armor, shaders, icons, so on. It sucks ass both for gameplay and for people who actually want to follow what's going on. And then on top of that, sunsetting gear, removing seasonal content, so on, forcing you to constantly grind for something that can't even be re-used, upgraded, or enjoyed later. But then also making you pay for it by locking prismatic lenses and other things behind a massive 80 dollar paywall. It'd be the equivalent of Game of Thrones deleting every previous season when they release a new one, and expecting you to actually care about it. While also making you pay 80 bucks for a recap.

There is an important difference between ‘new’ content and ‘more’ content. Every season, every expansion, it feels like we get more of what we’re used to. More exotics, more strikes, more ornaments, etc. But the last ‘new’ feeling thing we got was Stasis and before that, I suppose it was the introduction of the first Dungeon and the Scorn in Forsaken. Other than that, everything is just recycled stuff we’ve seen before. This season’s Override event is just a slight variation of the same system we have seen done countless times, killing enemies that drop motes and depositing those motes into a bank. And every single season, we get another exotic weapon. Honestly I don’t think we need any more exotics. There are already sooooo many. The game needs to learn how to evolve over time.

This is how I felt with Warframe. Played since the beginning and stayed with most, if not all updates up to when Wisp dropped. While the grind in Warframe is very tedious to abysmal, I still had fun regardless. That's maybe because I had friends to play with. But when the new open world area Fortuna dropped, that's when I started to see a big decline of me coming back. I couldn't get myself to grind and it just felt like a chore when hopping on. There wasn't really anything for me to grind anymore. I got mods that I wanted, frames that I really liked and built them up, and same for other stuff like weapons. I do occasionally check in at least once every 2 weeks because I'm like 2nd in command of a clan, just to see what's up. I still see a couple of committed friends playing, but others haven't been on. From what I can recall, a friend hasn't played in 3 years, yet being in one of the top position. Other than that, Warframe isn't a game I can really commit to anymore. Not gonna lie, I feel this, I preordered D2 a year befor it dropped, I got the edition that gave you the first 2 DLC, for an extra fee cus I loved the first one so much I thought fuck it. Then after season 3 they changed the upgrade system, and it turned me away cus it made it so much harder to up your light lvl. I came back to it at the beginning of this month, I was flooded with shit loads of content, I thought awsome, I got something to play. I didn't think much of the Red War and Curse of Osiris being cut from the game because I was genuinely having fun with friends, but I found out today, there's a few exotics I can't get unless I want to pay for last season, it left me thinking, ya know, I dropped extra money on this game to get the first 2 DLC, the same 2 DLC that were cut from the game, I grinded my ass of for items and odements, that I can't use anymore, because the armor they go on doesn't go past light lvl 1100, like the Dead Orbit legendary armor odements, and weapons of the first 3 seasons, no new player is even going to know who Cayd-6 even was, and these fuckers have the audacity to tell me I can't get The Deadman's Tale, or the Hawkmoon because I didn't pay for the last season, like bitch you stole money from me when I bought the gold edition of the game and you cut the DLC that came with that, out of the game I should be getting these seasons for fucking free. I love doing the challenging things with friends, but the only reason I play on my own is to keep up with them when there on, and I'm not. I like playing it, but to have Bungie cash grab me like that fucking sucks ass especially when my dudies are running older exotics from prior seasons and I have to go threw a pay wall to get to those exotics, after I forked out extra for DLC I can't even access anymore.

More content and more planets is never a bad thing, And then removing these things just showed me that I can't really Put faith in the game to keep around the things I enjoy about it. I spent Money on the game when it 1st came out, I bought curso, I bought curso asires and warmined, and now, and now, that's money wasted because the game is now free to play and those 2 DLC's are no longer available to play. @Shaper_Void yes it was, but instead of taking it out, they could have given the y1 guns like all the Leviathan guns random rolls. Tbh though that argument is stupid, what‘s the point of Last Wish? Rather than taking time to make people want to go to these planets, They just decided to Get rid of the content nobody played without looking at why Nobody played that content. For me it's this, on top of the fact that my 110 dollar initial purchase was made redundant when some content was made inaccessible recently. All the p2w DLC's that are priced the same as full-scale AAA games are ridiculous, and the season system only served to stress me out an unnecessary amount. I initially quit after being disappointed with my purchase (expansion pass 1&2. I thought it would be an expansion pass for every expansion, but I was severely baited by a Gamestop employee.). Then when New Light released I got back into it with some friends, had fun for a month or two and then even more DLC released. I quit again instantly. Royally pissed off with the game. Especially since I'd hoped that they wouldn't pull the same thing as D1 did with this one. Now I commit to other games. The idiotic season systems still exist and battle passes are at their peak, which forces me to stay in a couple of those games as well. I'm pretty disgusted by the massive, greedy corporations that surround our hobby and the fact that nobody seems to care about it anymore. They're pulling such cheap tactics and everyone is just accepting it. There is no longer any diversity in a gamer. You're either known for playing this game or that game, there is barely any in-between anymore.

Destiny is definitely one of the most forgiving games to take breaks from. You don't have to be married to the game to do raids every few weeks and get the new exotics to play with you just gotta play a little for a few days. A game I played, called genshin impact, is the most time consuming game with nothing to show for it. I put a year and a half into that game when one day I realized that spending and hour everyday doing stuff cuz of FOMO and a garbage gacha system, that it might be a waste of time. And it was. Destiny is nothing like this and I love it for that

That initial pinnacle grind is rough but just by doing that each week you’ll reach the level for GM content well before they’re available. You can push higher now for master VOG if you care about a single weapon roll once a week. Doesn’t feel worth it though and honestly isn’t completely necessary anyway. If you reached GM content you’re probably fine to try Master VOG if you can play smart. I log in long enough to raid in search of the ever elusive (at least for me) Vex and run some GM content with some friends and then I put it down to play Control (the game, not crucible lol). It’s honestly a big relief to just play and not really care when I can’t or don’t want to. And if I decide to jump back in, at least for the rest of this season, I can go straight to the end game content with no worries. All that said, I fully understand how you feel. Something about destiny lately has left me feeling like playing just about anything else.

Once they added time-gated seasonal content that was it for me. Destiny is meant to be a collectathon and knowing that if you don't grind every day after work you'll miss out on badges and armor permanently feels unfair and designed to trigger FOMO. After that it became difficult to enjoy since you knew you were on a timer and you couldn't rotate and play other games too. Giving up on it entirely made that FOMO go away but I still miss the world and the lore sometimes, and raids were some of the most fun I've ever had in a game.

So the wrathborn hunts from season 12, battlegrounds from season of the chosen, override from season of the splicer which is the current season and whatever seasonal activity for next season will last all the way up until WQ. My gripe for destiny is that you can literally miss a year or 2 of gameplay, come back, and the only that has changed in that time is a few sandbox changes, guns/meta shifted a bit. But I don’t see any sense in investing so much time in games and build skills which have no real life use. I still play games but now just offline. I turn them off when I want and no one can force me to wake up at 3 AM for a effing Raid. My advice to gamers which reached the point that they realize that they waste time, build some actual useful skills( codeing, languages, gym, 3d design or whatever) and invest as much time as they wasted in games and you will make yourself proud of real achievements. That doesn’t mean stopping gaming just reduce it to what it is leisure.

I don’t necessarily agree. You can play Destiny on a casual basis and still have fun. Seasonal challenges are a great way to get some hours in each week and they don’t feel as bad as the bounty grind. You get some story beats, play the new seasonal stuff, some ritual activities and by week 8-10 you are ready to take on the end game. All that with maybe 3-4 hours per week.

By the end of it I was left with a mediocre at best load out and my relationship, school, and heath all deteriorated. I don't understand what the point of playing this game is if it isn't your actual job. You can't get anywhere playing 1-2 hours a day. I’ve never gotten any raid exotics, never played a grandmaster with friends, never went into Trials, because no one wanted to play Destiny. And honestly? I’ve been playing many other games to avoid playing it. I’ve been enjoying replaying all the Halo games again, along with the Crysis saga. (Sorry to rant to no one, but that’s my opinion. Bungie just needs to un-vault everything. All the strikes, planets, guns man just anything that was ever in D1 and 2 that's not currently usable or playable should all be accessible in the game. That would make Destiny feel like an actual growing world and add so much variety back to the game. Plus it makes paying for dlc feel better as it won't just feel like we are paying a timed subscription thats only endgame is to be vaulted anyway.

Yeah I take these "Destiny consumed my life" comments to another level. My dad got into the game as his first main multiplayer game. He hasn't got tired after 2 years but I have after over 6 years of d1 and d2, every dinner its just Destiny talk as he explains a new gun he's got and berates me for not playing and helping him do raids. I just can't stand what the game has become microtransacrion/ battlepass and weekly grind requirements. I just miss sniping people with Stillpiercer from up high on the dreadnought, and hunter blink, rip my dreams after it got taken away, probably because of the pvp sweats but hey ho I guess. No more blinking through cover to say hello. Unless I want mask of bakris and a 30 sec dodge cooldown, wait does it even go through soft cover? I'll have to check it out soon
