As an Asian-American, it's worse when those slurs come from white people who feel entitled... no, OBLIGATED to use those words because we're not being proper "people of color" and they need to get us back on the correct path. Like, seeing a white person calling a Black man an "Uncle Tom", only because they either voted Republican once or said something nice about President Trump... I can't believe that ANYONE would consider that to be acceptable, but apparently its OK if they're shaming someone from straying off the "proper" way to act and believe.

Actually, it is a form of racism by black people against other black people. There's a documentary on Apple TV called Uncle Tom. It's about black conservative men bein interviewed and in it they talk about bein racially shunned by their communities because they have different opinions than most of the other people in it, one of the dudes even has an award called "Koon of The Year". It really shows how hypocritically stupid people in BLM actually are when it comes to bein against others who don't follow in line like toy soldiers

As a black man in America, I can tell you many reasons why our community is hurting. We've maintained our victim card way too long because we continue to ignore the underlining issues that plagued our community for decades. Many can argue that systemic racism is the contributing factor in destabilizing our community, but when do WE overcome being the victim and own up to our responsibilities in the matter? If you can acknowledge the problem and continue the karmic cycle...you're complicit and willing to aid the so called adversary in your own destruction. The Black Lives Matter movement is the embodiment of self proclaimed victims who are being used to push sinister agendas by those who've controlled THEIR narrative from the beginning. They are being coached by wolves in sheep's clothing. Black Lives Matter, you can not see that? We must break that cycled mentioned moments ago with haste because if we continue down this path we will become the very thing we detest. We can no longer hide behind excuses and place blame because it diminishes our message as a whole. Let me ask you a question...Where does our dollar go when we continue to take down our cities? How is our relationship with our brothers and sisters? How's our family structured? Do we even have a relationship with our family? Do we listen to each other? Are we holding our fellow brothers and sisters accountable for their actions? How do we really treat others who think differently than us? LET'S GET REAL!!! WHO ARE WE FOOLING??????? In reality, what are the 3 main things weakening the bl@ck community? F@therless homes, bl@ck on bl@ck crime and @bortions. Yes, you heard me right...and we never want to address these issues because we do not want to own up to our own doings. Instead, we continue to blame others while continuing the destructive behavior. We can demand respect from others all we want, but are we getting our "house" in order? Are we holding ourselves to the same standards, we're expecting from other's? I mean, by failing to look into the mirror, we've allowed this mess to continue which makes us a HUGE target for manipulating and controlling purposes. So, whenever we decide to dive into the realm of cultivating our emotional wellness awareness will show us truth, light and freedom. It will liberate us from the mind prison that was created by the outer world. Also, we must understand the motives from wolves in sheep's clothing. For example, who funds BLM??? It's the same person who funds Antifa....G. Soros!...What are his motives? For one, he does not care about us, neither white, asian, latino, gay, trans and everything else in-between. In order to seek justice we must have honor. I will fight for justice...but I will NO LONGER CLAIM THE VICTIM CARD. WAKE UP!!!

Yup, even if you actually have been victimized in the past, it's not healthy to constantly think of yourself as "victim" having that "victim mentality." If you talk to real victims out there, overwhelmingly so they will tell you they want to move past it and be strong, not think of themselves as a "weak, helpless victim" forever all their lives now. If you want true empowerment, stop thinking of yourself as a victim. The problem is these days "victimhood status" is basically treated like a currency to be coveted, hoarded and traded. Many don't want to give up the perceived "benefits" that a "victim card" gives them in these overly-PC/SJW times we live in.

I didn't know my own origins until i was older. I grew up around Black, Asian, Indian, white and never really cared to judge because i didn't know anyone's past. I was just taught everyone is deserving of equal love. The thing is we do need you. As a society and my personal belief every life should be valued, which I feel is the point. I personally don't align myself with anything that has no clear agenda that can be hijacked by others or driven to pointless pursuits, which for whatever pros or cons for a movement BLM is making small progress. Although not enough, wanton destruction being in complete opposition to justice. No one should be cast aside in society regardless of whatever crimes they've caused because when you push a person away continually they'll do what suits them, no one should be beyond being responsible for their lives and the damage they cause. Police, Prisons, and our Current administration advocate and do violence against all communities, the African-American communities just get the worst of it. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." - MLK Voting isn't an easy option especially when we're given the option of Two racist white men for our next presidential term. So what is the answer? What is a worthwhile cause?
@minxymuffin4331

Sunphoenix I hear you, thanks for giving me a lot to consider. I think people mistakenly think voting is the only way to get anything done. It’s easy to vote and think, “well, he promised this, and that, so I’ll leave it to him.” But nothing ever changes, most politicians are trying to advance their careers, not save the world. Not to say that we shouldn’t vote, but we have to do more because we rely on the government too much to solve all of our problems. In doing so we give them more power than they deserve. We need to, as citizens come together, and think of ways to achieve the peace, prosperity, and equality that we all deserve. But we can’t do that if we can’t agree on how to get it done. What’s going on now, whether BLM or the mainstream media like to admit it, is pure chaos that is dividing us further. We are so far apart we can’t even have conversations anymore. Kindness is out the window and in its place is finger pointing, labels, and public shaming. I’m a firm believer in, “United we stand, divided we fall.” And this? This is the fall. I don’t know what’s worthy, but anything that’s honest is a start, and anything that doesn’t seek to gain, by causing others pain.

When I was active duty in the Navy, the majority of my brothers and sisters were minorities (i hate using that word) and we had such great conversations sharing childhood stories about growing up in different areas. It was no secret that I grew up in the suburbs and most of my friends came from tougher backgrounds. It wasn't an issue though. We embraced our differences and it created a bond. We were awesome friends and coworkers, we laughed at how we grew up and the experiences we had. We looked out for each other, respected each other, helped when times were tough in personal lives, celebrated birthdays and when kids were born. Nothing was ever about race, it was about being a good friend and shipmate to those around you. I now live in a 99.9% white town and I just roll my eyes when I see the protests and how people are trying to lecture everyone on race relations. I love where I live but not a day goes by where I don't think of all my Navy friends who I only see on social media right now. I'd love to see them again someday and catch up and reminisce over the experiences we shared together. I see so many people just judging the hell out of each other and creating these insane standards that have no basis in reality. People are becoming brainwashed and manipulated, it's sad and frustrating.

@mrdonetx
@mrdonetx 3 жыл бұрын
@@The1Question at this point I don't think we can even blame other black people for not seeing this. It's so entrenched that it's actually part of their identity. The only privilege I believe in is if you had the privilege to grow up in surroundings that instilled in you the foundational building blocks that are important for success. White and black and every other color of poor people living in circular poverty have lost these building blocks. Black people were told by a lot of white people You're no good You're not anything. So they started to believe it. They told their kids either You're no good You're not anything or white people think you're no good or not anything. And instead of believing it became part of them. When I worked for a large retail corporation as a manager on the night shift most of my employees were black. As time went on they got to me I got to know them I would hear them say I'll never be able to get on a day shift because of this because that. So I told one of them one day, that were complaining, what they needed to do. I told them tuck your shirt in per the dress code, when you see the store manager coming in the morning say good morning Brad how are you? If he walks down the aisle or right next to you stand up look him in the eye shake his hand say how are you doing. And wouldn't you know it about three or four weeks later The store manager says to me you know we're going to have about four day shifts open up, Jevon on the night crew what do you think about him coming to days? And I answered honestly I said he's a good worker he does everything I ask him to do. And damn it wouldn't you know it he gets moved to days after a year or more trying. At first he thought I was telling him to suck up to the manager. I explained to him it's not about sucking up It's about showing that you're there. There were a few other things I told him to like if he was taking notes down the aisle say is there anything I need to do better or is this good? He took interest in the job that he did so the store manager took interest in him. It's those simple little building blocks that people who have lived in poverty have just lost I don't know where or how but they're gone. He went on to be a store manager at one of the busiest Walmart supercenters in North Texas. Got married to his other baby's mama got custody of his other child bought a house is doing pretty dang good. And I don't expect praise I don't expect thank yous from no one I don't want to be put on a pedestal It's enough for me to know that his three kids now will see and he can show them things that he was never taught. I believe teaching those who have lost those basic building blocks is the single most important and effective thing white people can teach others who have lost it if they're just willing to listen and put it to use. I know it may sound trivial and many may sit there and say I'm full of shit that that'll never work, he said the same thing. And so did about five others but then saw where it got him and asked me what they could do. Helping those people learn those basic building blocks and put them to use is far more helpful than handouts of money handouts of housing and empty offerings of privilege. I'm thankful that I was raised with those basic building blocks and I could teach someone who bothered to listen how to use them.

and just to top it off, not only is the implication that they are better, but you know at least half of them are disingenuous and don't believe what they are saying, but want to be seen to be all progressive because it's being drummed into them at every turn, and if they say no they get labeled a nazi or racist. i was talking to one of my co-works the other day and at one point she said "but i guess that's part of my white privilege" i was immediately like stfu, people are all individuals, they all have different privileges, some people get dealt good hands, some get bad. that's just life and applies to all. and at the end of the day, did you get where you are because you worked for it, or because some just gave it to you?

It’s extremely difficult, and at times, scary to speak up in disagreement with the BLM movement. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for a black person to do the same. That takes some serious conviction because the backlash is vicious, even when you approach it in a non combative way. If i disagree, I’m a racist, when that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Half my family is black, and I’ve dated black men. Why does it always turn to race if I disagree? I disagree with the anger and mob mentality and aggressive nature you’re met with if you don’t agree with their rhetoric.

I apologise in advance but what just happened is hilarious. I'm in Germany watching your video, listening to you talking about stereotypes and racism and all of a sudden a KZbin ad kicks in. "KFC - special offer for fried chicken" That's better than Jimmy Kimmel in the 90's . Where I live KFC isn't a thing. I don't visit KFC websites and I even turned off those customized ads. So whatever decision that KZbin algorithm made, it was not based on my behaviour as a consumer.

This is really the most intelligent comment section I have ever seen. God Bless you, Rippa, and thank you for delivering such a mind opening video. After all the negativity, groupthink, etc, it’s good to have a refreshing, realistic approach to these recent events. I have mad respect for you and the bravery it must’ve taken to speak out, even if your opinion is unpopular, though well-informed. And thank you, the intelligent commenter who decided it was time to share your educated opinion, despite risking backlash that is so common on the internet nowadays. Props to you, Rippa. subbed.

Some people I talked to in Europe and the US called BLM a gift to the far right. And after seeing them destroy statues all across the US and Europe I believe them. They don't care about Africans and Afro American citizens. They don't want to improve their communities. They just want to stay in their professional victim bubble and control you. I mean look at what's happening in Seattle. Or when they took down statues of Columbus.

No joke. I’m more worried about accidentally offending or committing some unknown micro aggression any interaction I have with a black person. I use to never have those thoughts. Not that I was color blind but I use to just talk to people without having thoughts about their race & how they feel about me because I’m white.

@@nparksntx I worked in a place full of that. I saw it change so fast how I was to address people. They said I could not call them black, then I could not call them African-American and had to call them black. In the end it was racist if I said black in any way that seemed uncomfortable. How am I not supposed to be uncomfortable if I can say a word the wrong way and get fired but at the same time it is the only word I am allowed to use for it? I now make sure that I choose my words for sincerity and benevolence and let the chips fall where they may.

Your touching on some great points. Liberals want to keep being funded by programs and foundations. What we need is jobs. I was raised in the hood and did some crazy stuff too. I was always a good kid inside like many others around me. Raised in Oakland during the 80's and 90's. Once I moved out of Oakland 45 minutes away on the freeway....my life changed at the age of 15. I saw opportunity, because people weren't being held back by the leftist system. Students were talking about summer jobs and summer school. Guess what I had when summer started? A job, and I went to summer school to make up credits. I felt like the whole world was like Oakland, until I moved away. They don't know how it feels to be free from real systemic racism. I now have a beautiful family for going on 20 years, and I own Real Estate in Ca. I go camping, hiking, kayaking, archery, and go to the shooting range. When kids from the hood look at me while camping in my tent or RV, I give them that head nod that's a yes we out here. Don't let someone put you in a box. They need to see us enjoying things other than Cars, clothes, and Jewelry. I'm around all races who enjoy life. We need real leaders to bring back the community not profit from it like BLM.

You are a success story, and you bring up a good point about the "smothering mother" archetype that is embodied by traditional liberals. Just like the mother with the child that lives in the basement in their 40's, the traditional liberal establishment will institute programs to "help" you, but you can never leave, and you will never have autonomy. Congratulations for figuring this out. You have set into motion something successful that will last for generations. Your kids are lucky.
