TEAM NAKED! So a lot of ppl are probably going to be shocked when I say this, but I am actually the owner/operator of a lawn/landscape business, and I have been caseless for a couple months now. I absolutely love the design of my iphone 11 pro. The matte glass is the best, as well as the stainless steel sides. I got the midnight green, and I had an otterbox defender on it for 2 years. I got tired of how bulky it was and just took it off. I used to drop my phone constantly with the otterbox on, but now that I’m caseless, It has made me more aware of it and I have not dropped it since! My phone gets exposed to the elements, dust and dirt especially. I just clean my phone every evening with 70% isopropyl alcohol and it’s good to go. Of course I have minor blemishes on mine, but still looks great! But I do 100% rock a screen protector.

Well said! Cases do add protection, but it's not worth covering up the design.

I'm late to comment 😄I've upgraded to the iPhone 16 Plus after always a SM Pro Phone user since. This time I decided to go bigger as the design of the case isn't much wider and much thinner than before. I don't want a case as it will bulk it up and more importantly take away from the beauty of it. We often consider before purchase all these details and cover it up once we buy it. Like buying a car, we do not drive with a protective case over it. 😂We handle it for obvious reasons. Perhaps we see these expensive phones in the same way. Wish me luck. I'm going naked for the team. lol

After reading through the comments, I very much like that the tone of the discussion was very reasonable. People gave reasons for their preferences. The discussion was very civil overall. Pe't ople seemed willing to accept that others might do it differently than they would, and that's OK with their phone(s). Too bad people can't behave with similar tolerance and reasonableness FAR more often, IMO. Though I'm team case, I'm ABSOLUTELY FINE with one handling their own phone however they want, AS LONG AS they aren't trying to blame others and get others to pay for their phone, etc. when life's little accidents / glitches cause their phone to be damaged at some point.

I can respect both team case and team naked. But for me, I REALLY don't want to drop, damage, scuff my phone. Any more than I'd want to abuse my laptops. So I use a case I like, and try to go with one highly rated for providing good physical protection, even against drops. OTOH, I'm more likely to only own ONE phone for several years than several to many phones a year, so even if I need a new case every couple-few years, it's not a big deal financially.
@kevinwthai2 жыл бұрын
I understand that some people use cases because they want their phone to last as long as possible. Most people don't upgrade their phone every year.

Thanks, man, when I bought my S22Ultra I felt like I am holding a premium phone It was a very nice feeling, after seeing others I kept ordering cases, and screen guards. I was searching which company case can give me premium holding feeling at the same time protection, it's none, I set up my mind I won't use any case or screen guard will be just careful. It's utterly nonsense buying a 1000+++$ phone and never feeling the real premium features and selling it back to someone after a year or so. When life comes without a warranty, it's just a phone. Handle it safe it gonna stay as it is when you bought it on the first day.

Chris Wilcox: I, being a very frugal person due to upbringing by two depression era parents noticed that too. If someone is willing to spend quite a few thousand dollars on cell phones (without even considering the phone plans) a year, then whining about spending $100 or even $200 on cases (which should enhance the resale / trade-in value if they keep the phone nearly pristine) seems MORE than a bit bizarre, but it truly takes MANY kinds of attitudes and priorities to make a world.

I love going caseless. But I do enjoy the leather feeling of the apple leather case. Hard pick. I would disagree about skins, they do change the look. It covers the design like a case lol. The only benefit would be no extra weight.

I notice that my phone is most vulnerable when it's in my pocket! If I happen to crouch down, my phone tends to slip out of the pocket and onto the floor. So I thought of a way to use my phone careless but also keep it protected in my pocket: buy a sleeve for it! Yeah, it costs around the same as a phone case, but to me it doesn't matter as I've bought many phone cases in the past and this would provide a much more enjoyable experience for me. I can't wait to try it out once I get my new phone.

The ExtremeBandur: How is going caseless consistent with keeping a phone you plan to keep "as long as possible", assuming you want the phone to stay nice, unscratched, unimpacted by bumps, dings, drops, etc? I don't need a case for my computers because they just sit on a desk or in my lap or whatever. (I DO use a good padded case for my laptops when I take them somewhere). But the whole idea with cell phones is they're highly PORTABLE.

im team naked, but when i feel im going somewhere that i might drop my phone and it could break, like going off-roading, i might put a case on it, but i dont like to do so lol. i have an iphone 11 that ive had for almost 2 years, and 1 and a half of that time has been caseless. I neither try to take care of it, i dont mind the heavely used look, so my phone has the corners full of dings and the back glass its very scratched in the corners but i dont mind at all. When my phone was new i hated it, because i didnt want to scratch it so i forced myself to put a case on it, but after 6 months i finally went caseless. Just waiting to "accidentaly break" my back glass 💀 so i dont have to put a case sometimes, because it would be already broken hahaha. Matthew Garmendia: And if you can be rational about it and treat a phone like that, that makes perfect sense. I'm that way with cars. For a new car, I baby it totally until something happens that gets a significant scratch / mar on it. But once that happens, and I'm done being pissed off, then I just don't worry about it. I hardly even wash it after that. And I tend to keep my cars until they get unreliable, which means for over a decade.
