Thank you for making this video sis. I used to be a makeup artist. It was my job and I was good at it. But the more clients I worked on, the more I understood how much they hated themselves and how much they want to change their appearance. It made me sad to see so many women who couldn't bare to see their faces without makeup. This made me walk away from makeup artistry because I didn't want to propagate the idea that women need makeup to feel/look good. It still astonishes me that we think we will only look presentable in the work place, or the wedding, if we are wearing makeup. We're distorting our God given beautiful faces, just to please others and many of us have yet to realize that. May Allah guide us all.

powerful, WOW! What an insight! Heck, even socalled "MEN" are going for skinwhitening creams. Shameful. 🤦😬 We obsess over outward appearances forgetting that real beauty lies in the heart, mind, and soul that ONLY ALLAH ALONE can beautify by His Mercy when we come close to Him. Allahu Akbar.

@maddiec6186 It was the way they spoke about themselves. The comments they would make about their features and how they wanted it "fixed". How they thought I was some saviour who turned them from ugly into beautiful. How they wished they looked like Kim K or some other celebrity. It was clear that they had attached their worth to their appearance, and they only felt worthy when they were covered in makeup. Some are going further than makeup and want more permanent solutions. The number of young women that want to get lip plumping injections, or "corrective" nose surgery is heart breaking. If this is not a sign of self-hatred, I don't know what is.

Thank you so much for making this video. I reverted to Islam two years ago and am wearing the hijab for over a year now. I have made Muslim friends and pretty much all of them are not wearing the hijab. I understand that this journey is difficult and that not everybody feels ready to do it, especially when living in a western country, but I just hate to see it that they are wearing make up and dressing in tight clothes. I don’t even know if they are praying or not because every time I try to talk to them about the hijab or Islamic rulings in general, they give me the feeling that they are not ready and that I should not question their behavior.

It’s uncomfortable to feel that we have to tip toe around topics that are not up for debate because someone might be offended. The more you give up the more people start to see you as “crazy” or “ unapproachable”. It feels like you cannot be honest about religion and our short falling s. Currently Alhamdullilah i can leave the house in a do or die situation with MAKEUP. i hope despite the trauma and disorders given to me by the girls bullying me for the face Allah chose for me i reach one day like you and leave makeup in sha Allah. i still hate myself i still never felt what it was like to look in the mirror and love myself. i wear makeup as armour to protect the chilld in me from them even at the age of 23. so anyone reading this if you see an ukhti wearing makeup do not judge and assume the best. some of them may have dependency due to severe bullying the same way some have for drugs.

Why are you looking so plain? It's a function.' Usually, I'm not really concerned about my appearance without makeup, but when they start asking these kinds of questions, I become very self-conscious about how I look. All my cousins look good because they use makeup, and standing among them, I feel very self-conscious .It makes me question whether I’m even presentable enough to attend a wedding or any similar event🙂
