Why I Don't Work On New Heroes

This is a great strategy for low to some mid level spenders, myself included. Each new hero that comes out I go ahead and acquire, however I do it. Bump them to 2 star for the upgrade event reward and that’s it. Gold production until a later date. I have 2 accounts with “solid” 3 hero marches and regardless of the new hero’s, I’m just focusing on perking those main marches. Then once they are done and the next new best hero comes out, just use the 1000 gems to swap those perks and carry on.

I use this strategy ... I am mostly f2p ... been playing for 15 months now and I am almost finished with 5* Katyusha an all four perks. I have two other accounts, 1 Navy, and 1 AF which are 100% f2p and I am slowly building them up. just FYI ... my "mostly F2P" is now VIP6 after 15 months as I bought: Diana, Perm March, and I usually buy the $0.99 value pack for the "monopoly" style games ... with mixed results. During EL I will purchase the "Monthly" march pack for the VIT.

@@WGtopwar Not to say I am strong at all ... I am actually quite weak compared to the Whales or even medium spenders. But I can tell you that when I grow ... finish off Purple Equip Army, top of a Katy perk, get a Bradley lvl 5 exclusive, I do noticeably become stronger and the medium spenders have to dump in a lot more $$$ to catch up as they have been dumping $$$ into too many areas while I focus on just one.

For sure. If anyone is spending money they should be putting it into decor and base skins. With only a few exceptions that's generally the part you can't work on unless you pay money. So I do my best to only put my money towards those two types of items

If you want to be afraid to play I would strongly recommend picking mechanical master as your class once you're high enough level if you haven't reached that point already. Then you can participate and still be helpful later in the game. But for the most part with few exceptions. Free to plays don't have much to do in the game and there is no real hope of catching up. Anybody who's been playing this game for more than 6 months generally is playing for the community and not the gameplay. Leveling up was kind of fun but once you hit max level there's not a whole lot to do especially if you're free to play in my opinion. And you likely won't have any large impacts on events with the exception of the weakening towers that the mechanical masters can make once they've unlocked them

@@WGtopwar dont forget about the mechanical master gathering facilities, you can easily pump out 400-600k/h for suppression, it greatly helps the alliance when you have a MM who know what he is doing

Top War was starting to feel like work ever since they started their never-ending "special" events marathon. On top of that, I actually to work weekends and sometimes I forgot to set a shield before SVS or KE start. This constant bombardment with activities was starting to stress me out. The constant math that too war forces your brain into is an excellent mind gym and stress relieve. I started after an elbow injury, a team member of mine after a construction site accident, etc, few examples just to illustrate we are not into it for the rat race. Also we compete in categories, 2H compares themselves to 2H, 3H to 3H, etc... Each someone gets a major upgrade the whole server cheers for it. That what we enjoy beyond winning any in-game ranking

That is a sensible and very effective strategy! Keeping up with every single new hero isn't feasible for a low level spender (myself), but anything that continues to provide rewards all through the life of the game is ideal. Raising Diana to five stars may be one of the most underrated advice in this video. I don't recall if I could ever beat a 3 star dark force in last EL...

It would only be recommended for people who are really going to go for that top 20 spot for those eternal token rewards. But the amount of energy you save being able to take on five star dark forces for the most points while still using Diana could be huge. A lot of people in my server laugh at me or give me crap when I talk about getting Diana to five stars.

This is similar to the method I have employed. I have all my bonds finished, all my free Navy heroes finished and I am working through the “utility” heroes that will never go out of style. I haven’t put any blank shards directly into perks instead opting to get my perk farm as productive as possible by 5 staring the free heroes. Definitely fallen behind a fair bit compared to players with a similar spend but I do feel like I am turning a corner with the perks starting to look after themselves pretty quickly I am getting close to the point where I can begin thinking about chasing the meta a bit again.

Unless you plan on dumping cash, this is the best way around it imo. I'm running Kat/Brad/Prey and as much as I'd like to put in Megatron over Brad, it's just not worth it long term. Working on Kat's perks rn and swap those to Prey when they are maxed so I can spend less universal shards. I'm thinking I'll actually end up getting Nim Bassel and Aka to 5* before I get another army hero to 5* so I have a solid Army and Navy to use. That'll be after I get the army ftp to 5* using elite recruit vouchers tho lol.

The perk farming is smart I do that...mostly with army and Navy Heroes as that's what I have maxed the most. New Heroes are clutch to stay effective but choose wisely as not all new heroes are always the best and what your looking for.

This is excellent advice. Another thing that I would recommend for long term is farming exclusive skill boxes with your skill shards once your main march is rare-6 or 7d out. Why? because of future buffs to old hero exclusives. if they add "level" buffs to some of the old heros than having rank 5-7 in those old heros is gonna be much more beneficial than 2 more on a march merge. Think about it. And to be honest having great passives is better when your not full sending or having to defend mutiple places such as odin and certain EL situations.

Something a lot of people on my server actually have been doing is doing common skills instead of rare skills now. Common skills seem to be so much harder to get so we can use those common boxes to upgrade our gathering skills and our common sizes which is damn near impossible otherwise

What you're saying makes perfect sense, even for big spenders in the game. Like someone in my Allaince recently said, "Heroes change, perks are forever." I would add one exception. When events come along that allow you get and level up heroes for basically free there's no reason not to go for it. I pushed hard in this current Transformer event and have a 4-Star Starscream with lv 4 exclusive. He's gonna be my best air hero for a loooooong time. And if a similar chance comes along again for any of the branches I plan to go for it again.

I hate doing things that I view is temporary boosts in this game. For example heroes and exclusive skills with very few exceptions I hate them. Because a newer better hero always comes out which makes their exclusive worthless and less it has a passive bonus. At that point I won't really have anything else to do with my orange shards but getting new heroes

I think this advice is very good for every type of player but whales. I also think that it's worth working on a new hero (for your main unit type) if it's game-breaking like Maximo because it would probably be better than a full perked non-broken hero.

Something I do to make sure I never miss a game breaking hero is I will always at least unlock every hero I just don't work on them. I feel it’s a bit of both if youre still putting marches together that don’t have 5* heros. Me personally, I only have Bassel, Max & Bee at 5*. Rockfield is my second Hero for AF (Currently 4*) and was going to pull Selina up for my 3rd AF. As I am nearing 3HM. But with Starscream given to us at 4.1*, I’m going to leave Selina and focus on those three and then work on Prime, Megatron and Bradley back by Type 1 Army Val’s for defence. I only have 1 army hero at 4* (Pied) but that’s the combo I believe will bolster my defence best. Nimitz is slowly climbing up the ranks thanks to Premium Tickets, and Dedicated ones. My 3rd hero for Navy will be Yuu, unless another more powerful one is released by the time I start work on her. Trying to keep up with the Jones’ will just give You a bunch of mediocre 5* heros instead of 6-9 heavy hitters.

I had started to level Rock when Max came out, so I grabbed him, and when your starting from scratch levelling a hero, it’s pretty much the same effort to level a new one vs a free one, as you cant “choose” the 610 shards to get you to 5*, you use mostly universal. So in my book, it really is the same effort.

I totally agree. However Megatron is not one of those heroes that you pass up. He's an all rounder that could work on either army, navy and air force attack team. Also 3 sets of fully perked 3hm is honestly a whale thing. I recommend working on gold equipment instead

Since new heroes are relatively cheap to get you should never pass on one. But I still think perks are better than working on the new hero. And I don't think working on three branches is necessarily a whale thing. If a free to play pushed their suppressions and only used free heroes but making sure to perk out all three branches they would be a force to be reckoned with. Yes it will take longer and they'll never be beat a heavy spender. But they can still take off some units by leaning on those suppressions

Instead of working on a level 6 I'm aiming for a level 5 of all the heroes that have those passive damaging increases and decreases. That being said, this is one of the few games of this type that I have seen that actually allows you to unlock each new hero in a free way along with their exclusives. It's slow, but if they stick to a single roster they can still be strong. Most games force you to spend money to get each new character and pretty much everything else. This game type is usually also plagued with "upgrade timers" that actively reach into the months and possibly years without speed ups on bases. So I have to say this has been one of the more f2p friendly games

On my main account I am VIP3 and have been level 80 since last August. I purchased the $20 permanent march early on but have not purchased anything since. I have 3hm and 4 level 120 gold heros all of the free category. I am working on getting Katy to 120. I look for ideas on how to increase the perks. The farming method that costs 1000 gems is difficult because I don't often have 1000 gems.

Unfortunately if the 1000 gems is too steep and you don't spend I don't really have any recommendations. Heros return, flippy, premium recruits, elite recruits. They are all going to either be gem heavy or some naturally but slowly

Yes. The new release heros are always strong. None of them are free2play past gem Treasury. That doesn't mean they're always going to get stronger and stronger. Maximo, for instance, is probably the strongest over the past year. Your strategy might work in a 5 year plan, but in the meanwhile, you mise as well not even participate in svs. Do you think it's better to have a 5 star hero with 3 maxed perks and a 3 star hero, or 2 5 star heros in a march?

If you had equal accounts and someone was marching three of the best heroes for their unit type and the other person was marching free to play heroes with full perks. That would be a total of 720% more attack and HP and would blow that march out of the water.

Well the nice thing about those gathering perks is as long as you keep them to either three, six, or nine heroes you can always reroll those perks and put them on one, two, or three branches. The strategy is definitely not for everyone. But I have always pushed hard for premium and elite recruit tickets and I generally don't chase new heroes. As a result I have a lot of free heroes five star that have all turned into perk farms. If you've already perked out your main branch and any other branch that you'd like to work on your park farms would be doing nothing else. So you could have them start working on gathering perks. I'm almost done with my suppressions yet I'm having a bunch of my perk farms work on world collection speed so I can gather odenium faster

New Hero's for me means more gold. Miners lmao... I have my 3 main heroes for Army and navy that I'm comfortable with so every one else is either gathering or gold miners...

@@WGtopwar But what do you do with all that gold after a certain point? I currently have 57.1ff and over 98,000 Shining Gold Chests. I have 2nd Dock, Hangar and Garage, so don't really see anything to spend it all on. There is expanding the repair factory, and battle rounds....but those are small amounts. What else is there to spend on? Or is it just another thing you collect like Tech Chests and R&D?

I've already unlocked everything in a game that costs gold. At this point I'm doing it for nothing more than seeing how much Gold I can stack up. I'm at 130 FF heading for 1GG 😆 We haven't finished fast combat but I'm not terribly concerned about that. I Don't want to finish that right away because anytime we get missions to donate to alliance tech that counts as donating and if we finish everything then we have to jump alliances to get our donation points

As I recommend in the video I'd say do perks first. But he is a good hero without the exclusive. But definitely try getting his to level 3 from the exclusive skill store for his passive boosts

IMO using universal shards on perks isn’t efficient. If you’re still working on your first set of perks I would for sure use universal shards on them though. I would go for big shots to get those heroes 5*s that way you can get perk mules so you won’t need to use universal shards on perks. I only have 2 perk mules that I’ve been saving shards for like a month and I already have like 150 shards combined that I could use to perk other heroes

You could also just use recruit tickets to get big shots and save your universal shards for heroes that can only be leveled up with shards. Lucky discount is a great source of recruit vouchers, as well as baking.

All good points. The only universals that I would rather use on heroes instead of perks would be universals for utility heroes. Even with perk farms if I were to use universals on a new hero that's about a perk and a half that I could have done instead of get that new hero

Unfortunately no one knows exactly how the transfer tickets are affected. The only thing the community can seem to agree on is the number of five star heroes you have has an effect on it. Outside of that everybody has their own gas but nothing has been consistent or substantiated

You will always get something when you put into a perk. And while I don't remember the exact percentages offhand here are a couple numbers as examples. For every two shards you put in you get a bonus whether you do two at a time or 20. So for every two shards maybe one time it's 2.3% and another time it's 3.4% For example. So you always get something but it can fluctuate slightly

Hi, i'm new player in new server I accidentally buy Diana exclusive skill till lv 2 and now my Diana are lv 80 and need 36 more orange shard to be 4 star My branch are focus on Navy And what i have now Simon at lv 100 5star But no other 5star hero built (but i have low level Bessel Nimitz and Belle) May i ask for your opinion, what should i do now? Shall i just continue build my Diana or switch to another 5star navy? And if so who should i pick? Thanks

Many people don't work Diana past one or two stars you do not need her strong. Dark forces especially later on are no trouble for you to beat and she's only there for her energy reduction and leveling her up doesn't give her any extra bonus. Some people upgrade her for eternal lands but that's a separate subject and something you shouldn't do unless you've already got a good combat March. If I were in your shoes I would recommend upgrading bassel and Bellevue to five stars and ignoring any new heroes. Once you get them to five stars you should upgrade your perks for them. Once they reach five star you're able to start using orange shards to perk out those heroes and you can have four perks. On both of those heroes you'll want all unit atk, All unit HP, Navy attack, Navy HP. Perks are permanent because it only costs a thousand gems to switch perks from one hero to another five star hero of the same color. You'll always be chasing new heroes but those perks are there to stay

Definitely get to five star heroes. That is bare minimum. You wouldn't even be able to work on perks on more than one hero if you only have one hero at five Star anyway

Well I'm being hesitating a lot about perking heroes or recruit some, I've been playing for 8 months now, I've chosen to be AF since Maximo appeared as it's early for my playing time to be an AF but what's done is done, I've been focused to make 3 HRF, then now I lack of army and navi heroes, I Have Aya, Maximo & Amalia on AF, 1200 orange shards, the question is DO I START TO PERK THEM NOW OR UPGRADE MEGATRON or any other heroes at least to defend the base ? 😭😭 my mind says 90% PERK, 10% get another 3 heroes to defend the base

Focus on your main offensive march. That means maxing and then perking those three heroes. Once that march is sufficiently strong, you can then start devoting some effort to the other branches and/or defense teams.

Perks is definitely the way to go. By the time you're finished you might have a new hero that's better than Megatron that comes out. It's also very hard to work on multiple branches unless you're a big spender

Doesn't make a huge difference. But many people like doing attack perks on all their heros first. If you do, do that though. Don't get caught on defense. Because it's probably going to hurt
