Why I FEAR For Pokemon Legends ZA - Pokemon Legends ZA Discussion & Breakdown

With all of the excitement surrounding the announcement of the new Pokemon Legends ZA, there's also a couple of fears I have in the back of my mind. What are they you as? Well, why don't we sit and chit chat about that?

I loved Pokemon Legends Arceus but i agree. I hope Legends ZA has alot more meat on the bone for its story. I'm already alittle baffled by it taking place entirely in one city but hopefully it makes sense in the game narratively.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake also took place in one city so it can definitely work! Especially if we are rebuilding it!

I want to believe that the reason why they narrowed the scope down to a single location was for the sake of delivering an experience that's quality over quantity. Again, that's what I WANT to believe... but I also wanted to believe that USUM, Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet would be good despite all the warning signs... and they weren't.

Also, I really hope they keep the Drowsy and Frostbite status conditions from PLA in the new game, as I liked them a lot more than Sleep and Frozen.

I think it's too early to be worried. Maybe wait until they show the next trailer for Legends Z-A to start freaking out. They're taking time to develop the game, so that should be a good sign that things will work out (we hope)! Knock on wood that it's a good game. 🍀☘️

i really hope pokemon z be u know good and u can feel progress of building/rebuilding lumion city becouse if only 1 location of all region be playable then it better feel worth it

The story can be about being a Champion in the core Pokémon games. Side stories can happen. Video games are not movies.

I've learned from experience to not expect a good story from a Pokémon game that doesn't have Mystery Dungeon in the title. Seriously, the 'deepest' that the story in a main series Pokemon game has ever been was in Platinum, and that game's story can be summed up as: Grumpy Space Man wants to become a god, but then Big Scary Shadow Dragon shows up and is like, "Lol, no." Edit: I forgot about Black & White. My bad.

I still think it way too early to be worried or be speculating too much about what we will or won't get from Legends ZA. I say wait until we get some more concrete info about the game before going down too deep into any rabbit holes.

I'm going to remain unconvinced that the game only takes place in Lumiose City until we have more info. The official sites for the game just say that it "takes place within Lumiose City" the only place that's used the word "entirely" was a tweet from Nintendo.

5:15 I don't know if I'd call that a twist honestly, he's was way too friendly in my opinion. 6:25 I do believe the reason why he's been around for 3,000 years was because of the ultimate weapon, something about him absorbing life energy from the pokemon, don't quite remember. 7:20 Having no abilities made certain pokemon who relied on them worse, no items to hold also sucked. Also slow pokemon like avalugg were SoL since the turn order is based on how fast you are, not to mention his hisuian version is worse thanks to the added Rock typing.

I dont agree with your negative comments about Hisui Story. It did have a lot of story, just not the one that you were expecting. There was no war, there was no league, no pokemon facilities. The game was about exploration, discovering and capturing pokemon in the wild. Expanding the civilization and human settlements. Hisui brought us Volo a really great villain that seeked the power of Arceus but got fooled into freeing Giratina! Arceus was central in the story, he was a deity, worshipped as a god! The entire culture revolved around him.

Yeah, legends arceus was based in 1863 and only seemed near ancient because it was based on the colonization of Hokkaido, which is the region in Japan which Sinnoh is based on.

I never actually never finished Legends Arceus because of the gameplay and lack of story. I didn't feel motivated to finish it. I play games for story, even if a game doesn't have my favorite gameplay, if it has a good story, I'll finish it, gameplay is secondary. I may be in the minority but I wasn't a fan of the "souls" gameplay. People who like it, like it because it's not pokemon in my opinion

I never finished it either. The crafting and the need to catch a certain amt of Mons to progress turned me off and I just wasn't feeling it

The reason they go nuts is literally spelled out in the game. You need to go back and read it. There is no way we're rebuilding Lumiose City right after the great war. That would put it WAY too far back in the past. Legends Arceus (and it's pronounced ARKeus) took place no more than 200 years ago. That's about the same timeline we can expect for Legends ZA. Any further back and we wouldn't have any way to take photos. (and we know how players LOVE to take pictures these days) I highly doubt the great war will even be mentioned except MAYBE in a brief passing like finding an old book or something. I didn't mind the lack of abilities. It actually made sense as far as lore. We were just learning about pokemon so we wouldn't have even known about abilities. I get so sick of people who complain about the rewards from quests or random gifts.....What do you want from them?! Do you want them to give out Masterballs just randomly or something?! You're getting something for almost nothing....DEAL WITH IT. I never use online with Pokemon games. I also never have anyone to trade with so not NEEDING online was GREAT!!! Everyone complains about glitches and problems in Scarlet and Violet, but I didn't have any issues until the DLC.....and even then it was minor. You have Legends Arceus and BDSP backwards. BDSP was the rushed addition because they needed time to finish Legends and didn't have anything for the holiday season. That's why they outsourced BDSP to ILCA and gave us that steaming pile of garbage for the holiday season. You are panicking and WHINING for absolutely no reason at all.

I see where you’re coming from, until that last line. It’s well known that the past games have been at least partially rushed for the sake of money. So much so that the quality suffers. At this point, it is perfectly reasonable to be worried about the state of the next game. But I do agree with you on the fact that specific things he mentioned are just straight bullcrap.
