Here's my take. This morning I had to get up and go to work. I'm at work now. Later I get to go home but I'll have to go to bed early for work again. Rinse and repeat. I can't fucking wait until my biggest problems are a few waves and wind from a not ideal direction.😂 I get it that it sucks but think about what else you might be doing right now and I'm sure it'll make it better. I made a video of myself riding my escooter to work in the snow and ice and freezing temperatures this past winter and uploaded it to my channel so that whenever I'm feeling like you are about the wind or something I can watch it and remember how much worse things could be.

Huub! New viewer here but I've been binge watching your videos from the last year. I really admire how you're able to keep a positive attitude thru your videos even when the going gets really rough. Hey Huub, one little trick when dealing with oil: put the hole in your oil bottle higher than the rest of the bottle so that the oil comes out smoothly, rather than the 'glug glug glug' way when the hole is on the bottom. Your oil is fighting the vacuum inside the bottle, you need to be able to let air inside as the bottle empties

FYI I wanted to make sure you know when making wire butt splice connections that you can get sealing water proof butt splice fittings for a increased price that may be very worth it in wet boat environment/salt water! After the cripping the connector you heat it with lighter, heat gun ect. and it heat shrinks and seals itself up!

Hey, I live in Trinidad and was wondering if you ever cruised here... The fuel and other gear is supposed more reasonably priced. I have a similar bio to yours, worked in IT for majority of life and now attempting to transition to boat life. Business and modern day acquisitions never really attracted me and I've found solace in minimalism. Would be great to get some tips and other advice from you.

@@HuubVlogs You should consider it. Its super close to Grenada although Tobago (Turtle Beach) is the real sailing gem of the twin islands. The people here are a friendly mix of various races and ethnicities so the food is literally a melting pot of diverse cuisine and spices too.... Asian, Arabic, African and Indian to be exact. Trinidad has a few eco tourism sancturies - like Asa Wright Nature Center and La Vega Estate - but is also the more industrial/ commercial island. As such, boatyards and repair facilities are more accessible here. There are a couple boat buliding companies located near the Chaguaramas area.

I mean, looking back it always seems easy! I was scared at the time to handle a big(ger) boat. And I was afraid I couldn't afford the upkeep. But no matter what choice you make, I think that a 40 to 42 foot is an ideal size for many things. Family, friends, speed of boat etc. But there are a lot of questions in game when buying a boat. Also on someones first boat you often do lots wrong. and its cheaper to do things the first time wrong on a smaller boat. But one thing is sure, comfort of travel and liveaboard increases greatly with a 38ft+ boat. (also, take my advice with a pinch of salt, I've seen many boats by now but have only owned one ...)

Loved the explanation. The problem with the work is you crammed too much in the video. Instead of putting in several different boat jobs, spend a lot of time on one boat job. And don't just fix it, reimagine it. I liked the upgrade to the water tank. However, I know this might not be possible if you used 5200 or something, but if you could have cleaned up the repair to the entire top of the tank that would have been impressive and would have significantly improved the boat. Those control cables are extremely utilitarian, also. They are definitely an improvement over what was there already, because they work as they are supposed to, but they are unsightly. The idea should always be don't just repair a crappy system, improve the design of the system. If you always do that, you won't throw good money after bad. And your boat will slowly get more and more valuable. Remember, the boat that you want to sell will be coveted by someone. But if there is too many projects to your boat, they might not realize just how much they really want it. We live in a materialistic society. Captain James of Sailing Tritea originally purchased his Alberg 30 for $2,500. Of course, your's is in much better shape since his engine was ceased. But if you look at his boat now? it is gorgeous. Your's could be as well. No matter what you do, I'll keep watching:) So ignore me if you want.
