Why I Hate Samsung's Experience UI Software?

We all love Samsung phones, like the S8 and the Note because they have the best in class displays, great cameras and stunning design BUT it's the software that at times ruins their glamour. The Samsung Experience UI, previously known as TouchWiz, brings some great features but at times, it's at the expense of performance and consistence. Well, in this video, we talk aboout why we hate Samsung's Experience UI software.
We are demonstrating this video using the Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy A8+, Galaxy On7 Prime, OnePlus 5T and the iPhone X.

I have the s8+ and since buying smart phones I always used Samsung. I can see the improvement from the s3 to the note 4 now the s8+. The s8 has been really smooth. The UI is the best cause you get so many things out of it other then the boring pure android. Keep up the good work samsung.

Many Note 8 users are reporting lag and stutter. And again, we hear the same exact thing every year, it’s finally fixed....the skin is lighter now.... As long as they are skinning Android, it will never run as well as stock Android or iOS.

I'm using a Note 8 and it has never lagged. I'm a Samsung user from Note 4 and I admit the UI has this occasional frame drops. Even the S8 plus has. But my Note 8 in the 3 months usage has never had that. Maybe the 6GB Ram is helpin. Btw Im able to "uninstall" all the unwanted Samsung apps. Slow Software update is true. But evry company who has updated their phones to Oreo have either stopped it or they are loaded with bugs. I prefer a very stable software even if it's late!

Even though google and apple never provide phones that are value for money just take $1000 for nothing but a 5 years old design and features. Even if a latest feature comes out in the market samsung always tries to give it to its customers as soon as possible but google and apple provide that same feature after one or two years. They never bother about anything they never provide latest features still they know that their device is gonna be bought by many people because they have these kind of hired youtube channels which will just promite their products with false appreciations. OnePlus is a Chinese company. All they know is to copy others. How much money did OnePlus spend on R&D? Not even a billion dollars while Samsung and other tech giants spend multi billion dollars on R&D. Samsung invested 12.7 billion dollars in 2017. That's the brain power needed to develop technology. Copying technology doesn't require brain power. Putting high end specs and copying features from other flagships is not difficult at all. That's why their phone's prices are low, cos they dont invest jack shit on research. Even their design is a copy of the iPhones. Laughable. Dont get me started on their security issues. Recently in an update on OnePlus phones a lot of data was sent to a server in china and OnePlus says that they accidentally turned it on. Talk abt a pathetic excuse. OnePlus is the type of company that would willingly leak your data and give a pathetic excuse for it. I do not trust that company one bit.

I upgraded from my iPhone 6S to the S8 I really loved its display and thought that Samsung finally listened and reduced the fat from the software. But after three months of Usage it really started to lag(and please don't tell me that your phone did not lag but my did). And I really hate it when Samsung gives me notification for setting up their apps I mean just give me a break! My sister got herself the OnePlus 5T. She couldn't get it when it arrived as she wasn't available for a week. So then put my SIM card in it and used it as a daily driver. Now I know its not what I would call long term usage but even after some hours of using it I can tell it will stay that at least for a year for sure. But after that one week I switched back to the S8 and my God it felt so slow compared to OnePlus. Then I got fed up and then after some time the Google launched the Pixel 2 and I bought it and I'm still using it and it's even a bit more faster than the OnePlus. I don't know how but maybe it's the Google's optimization or something but this concludes that Samsung has to something with the software. Other people who comment that their phone has never lagged or whatever, it's because they don't know how smooth it is to have a clean build of Android. Edit-Oh and btw, I went to a Croma store to check out the S9 and when I used the camera shortcut,the phone just froze at the lock screen and did not open the camera app and then it said that the app isn't responding🙄Just sayin.

They are making such videos because they don't get latest samsung flagships as review units. And samsung will never ever give its latest flagships to such badass channels who are already sold. And if you know that in the whole youtube many channels are making such videos on samsung and this shows that this is planned strategy against samsung. Samsung UI is one of most, if not, the most beautiful looking UI on a smartphone right now. Sure stock android might be a fraction of a second snappier but it looks way dull and non-premium looking compared to Experience UI. Not to mention the Exp UI has more functionality than the stock UI. Abt the updates. It's becos Samsung phones have so many features and stuff it becomes harder for them to push an update retaining all the features. It's not news or anything. They have to edit a lot of stuff into the stock and then test it, remove major bugs, test it again, release beta 1 to the carriers, get feedback from users testing the beta, remove more bugs, sometimes release beta 2, then remove even more bugs, release the final software. This whole process is very expensive and time consuming. Which Samsung and other OEMs have been complaining abt. Hence Google came up with a solution. Google Project Treble. It theoretically should make the process of updating phone faster and cheaper. That's what Google claims. Project Treble is used in Oreo. So the phones that run Oreo is expected to get Android P considerably quicker.

Rupesh really? cmon! Now I've had the Note 8 since before launch and have experienced ZERO and I mean ZERO lag! No lie! Also I do use some of the Samsung Apps over Google! Gmail app is absolutely horrible! Doesn't refresh and give me my new emails when they are sent. Samsung email no problems what so ever and the UI looks better too. Same with Google photos... horrible. In my opinion Samsung is better. Then u compare the face unlock to the fastest face unlock on the market in the one plus 5. EVERY phone is slower to face unlock compared to that. I could speed up the UI if I wanted in developer options if I wanted but I love the animations Samsung's UI has. So really there is a choice to speed up the experience if u want. But the half second it takes for the animation that I like to watch anyway is still a very fast and silky smooth experience. I mean everyone has their own opinions I guess. But the one fact is that atleast on the Note 8 it is a blazing fast and smooth experience with absolutely no lag at all.

And not to mention new Samsung phones included with service maintainance (if you don't know where it is, it is at settings). If you think that your phone is lag.. just use it and it will clean your phone (no need 3rd party cleaner)

I have been using S8 for 8 months now and have never faced lagging issue.. Same is the case with Note5 after 2 years works as good as new.. If you like Iphone or Oneplus go with it but please don't make videos that are irrelevant and untrue..

I used to use Samsung Experience and Android 8.1 on my old 2016 Galaxy Tab A but I upgraded to the Tab S7 in May 2021 and One UI 3, 4 and currently 5.0 is the best Android skin in my opinion and the S21 and S22 as well as the Tab S8 series get 4 years of Android updates and an additional year of security updates. Samsung is THE BEST!!!!

I own a Samsung and I can clearly say you're definitely not speaking on my behalf. I just hope for your sake you're not speaking on behalf of your stomach! Samsung has been the most consistent performer in 2017 beating the pixel with it's screen burn in issues, faulty microphones, Delayed notifications, connectivity issues etc Then you have iphone which is reported that it also has screen burn-in issues, it doesn't work in cold temperatures, persistent green line on the left or right side of the screen, crackling speakers at high volumes. The One Plus is also reported to have random reboots and don't get me started on their credit card security breach. Amazingly you lot chose to single out Samsung you strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!👎

Ziko and what about the oppo and vivo app stores whose icons are as same as the apple app store and these app stores on oppo and vivo devices provide nothing but some themes, wallpapers, and the same apps which you get on the playstore. They are just useless. But samsung at least provides their own apps on their app store and give updates to the older system apps. But no one makes videos on xiaomi, oppo, vivo because they don't compete with google. Actually google takes advantage of their social networks like youtube to hire the creators to make such videos about samsung because samsung is the best mobile company and google is afraid that someday everyone will forget google devices which are no value for money. Same case with apple. Actually google and apple are jealous of samsung.

I have Samsung Galaxy j2 j5 and j7 prime. It do not lag. If you have a ram of 2 gb and you are using application's which combine up to more than 2 gb then Any phone will lag.

i agree with you , there's a lot of double apps on those phones and it sure slows down the phone a bit . though the speed doesn't bother me cause' the system handles it pretty good . but since i'm a person who really likes customizing his phone's user interface i found the themes option very useful also the iris and fingerprint scanner are pretty awesome and they are way more secure than facial recognition

As far as the email goes, Samsung at least gives you the option to delete more than one email at a time. It's ridiculous that you can't do that on the Gmail app.

Man, you’ve said it. Thank you for voicing the frustration of a lot of discerning users like me. I have had the worst experience on Samsung devices. I’ve owned the S3, S6, S8+, the Note8 and most recently the S9+ and every single phone has underwhelmed me. Why? Software! Whether it is the horrendous aesthetics of the software, poor battery life, poor standby times, aggressive and artificial image processing in the camera, micro stutters and frame drops systemwide, lag, lag, lag, app crashes and slow charging speed, delayed to a complete stoppage of software updates after the second year of ownership, I can go on and on. My S8+ and Note8 experience - The fingerprint scanner which is slow and clunky , generally never gets my scan correct on the first try. The iris scan too is fiddly and works around 60-70% of the time. The camera takes over processed photos and the aggressive noise reduction renders them artificial looking. The S9+ - I expected that Samsung must have improved the hardware and they did to a considerable extent. The fingerprint scanner which is now better located is also far more accurate now. The speakers are great, design too. But Oh the camera. The same story since the galaxy S7. Same overprocessing, extra bright images, aggressive noise reduction where there isn’t even any noise, absolutely trash of a front camera which is just way too soft in terms of detail and takes lifeless and colourless images. I don’t understand what the hell the camera team at Samsung smokes. Can’t they see the excellent image processing of the google pixel and iPhone 8/8 Plus and X. The images coming out of the Samsung are worse than a mid-range phone. I regret paying so much for this phone. It absolutely does not deserve the price Samsung wants us to pay for it. The s8 crashed apps like nobody’s business. Instagram, amazon, Swiggy, highway rider, asphalt 8 regularly crashed. And this was a brand new phone experience I am talking about. The note 8 was better. It did not crash as much. But he S9+ now! Oh dear lord! It crashes KZbin, gmail, phone dialler, Samsung’s own apps like Samsung calendar, My Galaxy etc in addition to all games the s8 used to crash. The battery standby time is horrible as well. It drops 15-20% battery overnight unless I switch off the Always on Display, Mobile data, background sync, Wi-Fi, and enable power saving mode. This is just unacceptable. Did I pay so much to disable all the features ? I have lost all hope and will probably never be buying a Samsung phone again. It’s insane how bad this phone is. I am cursing myself for trusting Samsung again and again but it’s all done now.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy J7 pro using still 1 year. No lag issue. What you said,its ot lag issue.it is animation speed. You can able to change animation speed from 1x to 0.5x on developer option.
