You are heaven sent!! ❤ I’ve been pondering over going back to nursing school to attain my RN, but being an LPN already, I was burned out, and stop practicing, but I need career with job security, and I had MLT/MLS in the back of my mind, but then I totally forgot about that major, but thanks to your video, it has reignited that fire again!! I applied, and got accepted!! Thanks to this video!! ❤ And you’re right, we can always go back to school for nursing if we change our minds!

I understand what you mean.. I wanted to drop out of nursing school in the 3rd semester but I talked to someone and they said finish thru ur 3rd and do your final semester 4th semester .. I am glad I did because my previous English degree I made no money out of my English degree .Life after nursing school threw many curveballs after so I was lucky I had the income to sustain me … and it’s important to know that science pre reqs right now in NYS Is 7 years max so if you actually get into a program here it’s best to complete and use it to fund your passion if it’s not nursing .. the owner of a restaurant in my town is a nurse and he used that money to fund his business and the owner of Mielle hair care was a RN so nursing is not the end all be all it’s a means to an end .. nursing is the only field where people bring the nuisances to it … the great nurses I have worked around they do an excellent job and follow protocols but the would not do it for free

I understand because most nurses work crazy hours and also with hospital jobs if the next nurse coming in is late or doesn’t show up the nurse that’s already on the clock is stuck at work

Right! I'm definitely someone who prefers working a set schedule and being able to stick to it. And at my current job I'm also able to decide if I want to stay late, come early, etc.

A nursing degree does not have to be used in a hospital or nursing home. A lot of nurses do things other than bedside nursing. There are hundreds of ways a nurse could go.

I got into the nursing program did 2 semesters, went on clinicals at our local hospital. Then realized it just wasn't for me plus I have kids. Switched majors and recently graduated with a CLS degree. I'm honestly happy and as you said if I wanted to go back hey I already did some of the classes already. Good luck on your journey !! #NewSubie

@@RisaB Hi! I dropped during my third quarter (3/7) and I'm glad I didn't force myself to finish the program just because of the money and time I spent. I don't see myself doing direct patient care in the near future :) Maybe far in the future, but yeah you are so right! I can always go back to school in the future for nursing or sonography since that's always an option.

I’m still barely holding on, but 12.5 - 14 clinical hours per day, 2 - 3 shifts per week, plus classes and exams, it’s extremely overwhelming

This is so scary how I’m in a a similar position I have been looking at grad programs & accelerated nursing programs but I don’t want to be stuck with more debt and not a career. I have a biology degree and the jobs suck lol (pay and my interest). I recently decided I’m not going to med school and I just feel stuck I have a job at a hospital rn but I’m not using my biology degree at all.
@BlackGirlLovesAnime6

I agree the regular/entry level bio jobs suck so much. The pay is a joke compared to how much work they want. I was a lab tech at a university with rotating shift and that was fun because of the work I did and my coworkers but that shift was so taxing and the pay was booty lol. Then recently I got a job as a cell therapy specialist at the hospital. Pay was pretty good 70k and they were supposed to teach me everything from scratch but failed to do so and expected me to be an expert at 3 months. So they forced me to resign and gave me a lab coordinator job. So boring and it’s mainly shipping and qc stuff. Now I’m wondering what direction to go in to get me the career I want. I want to work in a lab and make 100k. I want to work for a different company or the gov but now I fear that I need to brush up on my lab skills. Been looking at this medical technologist post bacc program but it’s 30k and I’m really turned off by that price

Yes I definitely understand! I think it’s more difficult than you expect to find a career field you actually like and to feel like you make enough while also putting your degree to work. I’d definitely suggest exploring different avenues by talking to others and trying new things until you find something you like! I definitely found it difficult putting a biology degree to work lol.

My LPN program is free, due to the high demand for them in my state so I’m definitely taking the opportunity and save to go back for bridge to RN,BSN. Nursing defiantly isn’t for everybody but this is my niche I’m currently a CNA about to get my phlebotomy certificate. Great video

This was me a couple months ago… I applied to quest diagnostics for a lab associate position, found out on the interview they also wanted me to complete their CLS program (didn’t even know they had that program!!) of course I said yes. Two weeks into the program the school I applied for the RN program called me and congratulated me and welcomed me into the program!! My heart was divided, I thought I could do both programs…but by the end of the 1st semester I was drained, mentally and physically. Working both programs, 12 hr clinical shifts were toooooo long. Ended up saying goodbye to RN program. I am currently complete the CLS program. In California the RN and CLS pay is pretty close (unless you do travel nurse).

Hey! Yes I did a pivot into MLT without going back. I essentially just brushed up my resume with the things I did in school and continuously applied to a lot of jobs that didn't require licensure lol. It took awhile but I eventually got an offer. I have a few videos on my channel going into a bit more detail. Hope this helps ☺️

I love your locs by the way they are luscious and moisturized. I visited Jamaica earlier this year for my 31st birthday.. I’m on my 3rd year loc but while I was there my locs always look more moisturized lol u guess bc just a different climate than in TX. What do You use to keep moisture in

That sounds like an amazing birthday lol. And thank you! I only use water and almond oil to moisturize my hair. The almond oil does a good job of moisturizing for me without being too heavy and causing build up.

Typically, you can't because it is an entirely different field... I had a classmate in the program who was a former nurse... some of your credits may transfer but it depends on the courses you've already taken. You will have to go through the entire program and get certified. Then again it depends on your location.I have a background in biology and couldn't utilize my degree. The classes I took, however, helped me to better understand the content.
