My question is what should our opinion be of the so-called Asha'ari champions of Islam, who I don't believe were true heretics, such as Salahadeen Al Ayyubi rahmatullahi a3lay and the many Mamluk and Ottoman rulers? I have heard that many of these famous scholars and rulers claimed by the Asha'ari group are actually Ahlul Sunnah wal Jamaah and never held the extreme views of Modern Asha'ari adherents. Specifically, I speak of luminaries such as Shaykh Al-Nawawi and Shaykh Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani. Also, what to make of Imam Ghazzali according to the Ahlul Sunnah wal Jamaah and are we allowed to benefit from his works and critique of philosophy? JazakAllahu khayran for your patience. I disagree with some of the sheikh’s actions but one can’t deny the fact that he revived tawheed. He even inspired Shia scholars in Iran, causing them to leave imamism and start calling to tawheed.

‏السلام عليكم ‏بارك الله فيك I think the Hadith in Bukhari about Tawassul is what needs more discussion yaa Ustadh but if there are people clearly calling on the dead directly, then we should know who they are. Because people are throwing all Sufi into one lump sum There are even people calling Jammat Tabligh Sufis because they had a couple Sufi’s that wrote books amongst them back in the past and not all Tablighis are Sufi as well So I think what’s happening our people and Islam are focusing on absolutes And categorizing everyone into groups And this is not fair either Thank you for your efforts though definitely Abdul Wahab did a great effort and Katab il Tawheed is a necessary work. And when people get too involved with ambiguous versus such as the “Yad Ullah” I haven’t found any Hadith of people from the Salaf even mentioning these as physical attributes so on the Salafi side this can be dangerous on our end as well ‏جزاك الله خيراً

Brother have you researched this historically? The claim that the Arabian peninsula returned to shirk and idol worship doesn't seem to be confirmed by any Islamic historical sources. And I've seen in the writtings of Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab and his followers that the tribes of Arabia apostated due to their alliance with the Ottomans (who they made takfeer of), so they became apostates due to their refusal to join Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab, (according to them). And that was the shirk they were referring to. (Meaning, they took the same ruling as the Ottomans, not that they themselves did those things). Please do an independent research on this and upload a video on your findings. As it seems very hard to believe that Hanbali tribes and other mainstream madhabs would return to shirk (as idol worship) and not get called out for it or have it documented by any of the other scholars inside the Arabian peninsula or outside.

Salafi/Wahhabi is not a math’hab and even bin Uthaymeen when asked about joining/belonging to groups said that he does not encourage it. When told what about the Salafi way, he said be Salafi in manhaj not the group. There are salafis in Africa who are Maliki and have never even been to Saudi. They just realised that much of what came after was bid’ah.
