This whole video was shot on the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 as well as all the audio, which came straight from the camera. The only audio that was recorded on a different mic was the voiceover parts.

The image quality is way better than I expected. I might have to give this camera a second look. Maybe one day I'll actually get serious about making videos. Right now, I'm just slowly learning and posting some pretty crappy videos here and there. Lol But hey, eventually I’ll get the hang of the cameras, storytelling, and editing-hopefully!

There were parts looking amazing, like the foggy sunlit outside or surprisingly the indoor shots in the Leica building. Then there were parts like darker corridors in the hotels or between buildings which looked pretty bad. In the right circumstances the Ace Pro 2 is an ideal vlog cam. To make it reliable for a one only device it would need to perform more consistently. Otherwise sound is great too, thanks for the presentation 😃👍🏻

Really enjoyed this take on how you created a mini documentary on your trip. You're truly great at storytelling! You inspired me to step outside my normal and try documentaries and more creative storytelling that's relatable and inspiring! I just received my Ace Pro 2 and use all manual settings. It's the best mini cam of 2024 shooting like a big pro in a small body!

Great video! I’ve noticed something about the Max ISO setting on the camera. If you set a Max ISO value, it seems to revert to full auto after a restart. While the setting appears to stick in the menu, you’ll notice it doesn’t actually apply if you enter a dark environment-at least not until you toggle the setting again. This issue also seems to carry over across other video modes. It would make sense to allow users to set a Max ISO, like 800 or 1600, for regular video mode and have it stay consistent. Then, if you find yourself underexposed, you could switch to Pure Video mode, which could allow a separate ISO range or even the full range. This separation would give much more flexibility and control depending on the shooting scenario.

Finally a video to help me decide, thank you. I was on the fence buying the ace pro 2. However, I prefer not to use external mics, and I noticed that when you turned the camera away from the speaker at 8:48, he was barely audible. This is a huge drawback for me. Do you find this is the case with this camera?

You probably would have that with any camera. If you need to record audio from behind you then you probably need an external mic that's pointed in that direction too.

Yeah, this is the case with any camera. If you know someone else will be talking and the camera won’t always be pointed in their direction, then attaching a wireless lav mic to them is the best option.

Between iPhone 16 Pro and insta360 Ace Pro 2 which camera output would you prefer just for capturing life memories (no action / adventure stuff)?

Thanks! On a day-to-day basis just capturing quick clips in the moment, I pull out my phone as and when. But if I’m going out and about with family on a trip or for a walk then I take a dedicated camera as it’s easier than using my phone.

Great and fun video, this made me thinking about getting an Insta360 for my KZbin channel, im on an DJI Osmo 4 with Dji Mic 2, but im struggling with the audio, its very bad, at a car show the audio went nuts, way to high when the cars went by us, cant seem to have a stady audio. .

You can record back-up audio by having the Action 4 automatically start recording audio as a 32-bit float file in the Mic 2. Then you’ll have a file that is unlikely to be clipped.

I enjoyed this video and learned a few things. A lot of companies are teaming up with legacy camera/lens/film companies to get the best out of equipemnt. Leica have partnered with Panasonic Lumix and now Insrta360. Even though I just got my DJI Action 5 Pro, I admit the Insta360 action 2 has better image quality without the overdone HDR. At least both are better than GoPro. I think the Insta360 is good as a vlog/content creation camera.

So Leica is ONLY consulting, they don't actually have anything to do with the physical product at all.....kind of misleading TBH. Its like starting a motorcycle company and saying it was "created in partnership with Astin Martin", when all they did was have Astin Martin look at it and say "yep its a motorcycle".... I'm sure it's more than that (technically), but still I think you get my point.
