@@michaeldeak5727 Oh, yeah you're right I should've I mentioned that. Re-watching some spider-man TAS episodes with Hobgoblin knowing it's mark voicing him his Hob goblin voice sounds very similar his Joker voice which isn't bad both are supposed to be ego maniacal villains so it makes sense I just wanted to point it out. To be honest spider-man TAS and the Ultimate Spider-man comics are my favorite versions of the character. I personally didn't like Hobgoblin in the 616 comics.

It’s worth pointing out Batman from the animated series also had the most complete story in the DCAU. We saw his progression through Batman the animated series and into his few guest appearances on Superman the animated series, justice league the animated series, His few guest appearances on Static Shock, and Batman beyond. We saw the DCAU version of Batman change with each progressive series and that makes this version of Batman so special.

Batman: TAS was the first superhero cartoon I've ever known. Hell, that's where I first know about the existence of Batman. I was 3 years old when I first saw it. The first episode I saw was Perchance to Dream. I remember I was in kindergarten, my teacher made me color a pic of basketball with just orange. My dad came to talk with my teacher, and he asked her why I can't color a pic of Batman? My teacher told him that "not everything is fun like Batman." Despite that, my parents used to buy me action figures. 3 of Batman (one is lost), one of Robin, an Aero Bat, a Batmobile, and a Batcycle. I managed to see the entire series (including The New Batman Adventures) here, KZbin in 2009 before the copyright regime began.

This cartoon marked my life, not only for making me interested in this character who would become something else to me than a comic book character, but, 29 years later, it is the best cartoon in general also. No matter how many current comics or films come, they will never get to the character's soul as much as the animated series.

Absolutely. This show defined my love of Batman and solidified it for years to come. Mr Freeze is a character that I love, yet also deeply sympathise with because of this show and the episode, and because of it, I see him as more of a victim than a villain by all definitions. I also agree that Magneto had a very tragic origin as well, including also Kingpin, and Doctor Doom.

I first discovered Batman when I was a real little boy. I was in a CVS with my mother and I saw a batman coloring book this coloring book was for The Batman the 2004 cartoon. I remember thinking how cool batman looked with his cape. Then sometime later I bought The Batman volume 2 DVD which had episodes 4 through 6 of the show I watched that dozens of times. I eventually bought the season DVD sets for The Batman and loved the show. During that time I discovered the Tim Burton/Joel Shoemaker Batman films, Batman Begins (Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises weren't out yet), and I also discovered Batman the animated series for a long time I only had Volume 4 of the show later when I was 12 I got volumes 1 through 3. I loved Batman The Animated Series since I watched The episodes on Volume 4 and after watching volumes 1 through 3 it's safe to say I love the whole show.

I love this video because you put your pespective on the show instead of telling us a history lesson. I started to love Batman TAS just a few years ago because my introduction to the Cape Crusader was Batman Begins and Dark Knight. The reason why the show is SO GOOD its because it was inspired by excellent stories from the comics by marvellous writers. The Dark Knight will be ALWAYS remembered as an angel of the night because of this timeless show. I hope one day you speak about Batman the Brave and the Bold, its simply great too. PD: Batman (and Robin) the Animated Series >>>> the New Batman Adventures. Bruce Timm CAN'T write Batman by himself. We have the 2016 Killing Joke movie adaptation to prove that.

I too share some Bat-love. I grew up mostly out in the county with only 5-6 channels to watch depending on the weather and which direction the antenna was turned. I remember my Grandpa would watch the old 60s version when I would visit my grandparents, they had basic cable. When I was 7 my brother took me to see the 89 Batman film. Fast forward a few years and the Animated Series started and then Knightfall started around that time as well in the comics which is when my Bat-mania really took off. It was a rare treat when I got the chance to see an episode when I was at a friend's or grandparents house. I even got my Grandpa to watch an episode and he even had to admit it was "Ok." Lucky for me I think it was the first part of the Two-Face origin (great episodes and definitive Harvey/Two-Face origin) Which was high praise coming from someone that didn't want to watch my cartoons. Which in hindsight, I didn't know good cartoons from bad ones at that age. Lol. Finding comics was hard for a long time in my hometown. I was able to get new ones at a used bookstore that started to get comics and I was able to find a pawn shop that had a bunch of older back issues; which older for me at the time was anything after 89 to Knightfall. Every week when my grades were good my mom bought me 2 comics plus any money I made from chores went to 2 more. I now own nearly every Batman comic from 86 (post Crisis) thru the New 52 series. I have trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibuses, action figures, statues, various Batmobiles of different sizes, shirts, movies, and video games. The animated series played a big part in my love of Batman. The animated movie: Mask of the Phantasm was equally good. Even film critics Siskel and Ebert praised how great Mask was. I remember it blowing my mind when I found out Luke Skywalker was Joker in the series. And he's probably got the character down best. And Kevin Conroy IS Batman as far as I'm concerned. He understood to play Bruce and Batman differently. I had the great honor of meeting him in 2019! And in the series when they revamped Scarecrow to have the noose "neck-tie" and they cast veteran horror actor Jeffrey Combs as the voice, it was probably my favorite version of the character. I also met Jeffrey Combs' brother years ago when I was working at a liquor store! I also later found out that one of my favorite authors, Joe R Lansdale, actually wrote 2 or 3 episodes of the Batman animated series! I also met him in 2019! He even wrote a Batman novel: Batman: Captured By the Engines. It's can be a hard find, I'm currently keeping my eyes peeled for a hardcover copy. I find it fascinating that I find myself making links or connections in my life that seem to come back to Batman The Animated Series. The show has much gravity to it. It's awesome. Not to mention it started off an entire decade plus of great animation. In a way you could say TAS really helped cartoons grow up in the 90s and helped animation be more widely accepted on this side of the globe. And it still holds up today. There are a handful of throw away episodes but they are greatly outshined by the numerous great episodes that inhabit the series. Thanks for sharing and for "listening" to my Bat-rambling. Love your channel. I even recommended your channel to a friend that's just starting his own Bat-path. We'll keep spreading the good word of the Bat, brother! Be well, take care.

Great video dude! Batman TAS, for me, is the definitive adaptation of Batman. Something I'm not a fan of recent adaptations of Batman, like the Snyderverse and even Nolan movies, is how they try to make Batman darker and gritty than ever. There's nothing wrong with that since Batman is dark character but they usually go to far with the dark stuff that Batman adaptations lose alot of the sense fun and Batman lose alot of his humanity and what makes his character so complex and interesting. Batman TAS on other hand, while the episodes deal with dark stuff, they are still able to embrace the fun and enjoyable side of the comics. The stories can have mature themes but also silly and fun moments like Batman escaping from a death trap or fighting something like a shark, allowing the series to appeal to a bigger audience, both for adults and kids as well. This balance of tone also applies to Batman, with the series showing him as badass but never to point he comes off as generic or unlikable, with him having moments where he shows compassion towards others and solve his problem not by puching the bad guys but trying to reach them and help them deal with their traumas, like in the case of Mr Freeze, Two Face and even Baby Doll.

When BTAS came out it literally came on at night originally which back then the old cartoon on at nights was the Simpsons. Although Tiny Toons did have a sneak peak before they launched like that BTAS I think did it for about 6 months before going to the Fox Kids afternoon line up. I enjoyed the show but I didn't like the pseudo 30s thing as a kid, nowadays I appreciate why they did it to make it feel more timeless. Good show and frankly the only thing close is the Nolan Batman's. I would argue it's a show an adult can enjoy for sure and frankly some of their best episodes didn't even need super villains. Batman captures the realities of crime in real life: they're usually people with big long sad stories and keeps this hope in redemption for them (well some of them). Also they did a good job of using Burton's gothic look but bringing Batman back as the focus of it. Kevin Smith, all criticisms of him otherwise aside, does nail it when he brings up that Tim Burton really was a little too obsessed with the bad guys and his "freaks are just normal people and normal people are the freaks" theme he does over and over again. I do recall seeing Batman Returns in 1992 as a kid, and being bored because the show lacked Batman. Shame about the WB network ending it, in retrospect since everybody other than Kevin Conroy is around I'm surprised they haven't tried to bring it back and just make it an adult show. Also weird to think it's probably the least tarnished part of Mark Hamil's career since Disney ruined Luke Skywalker.
