The Order gaslighting everyone into thinking Botar had been replaced with someone else entirely even though he just teleported back from the red star just to keep the star a secret 100% seems like something they'd do. New headcanon

Another point about Botar's death, it could have been part of the Red Star plotline with Kopaka and Pohatu. Due to the "zombies on a space station" aspect of that story, he could have been one of the reanimated characters that the two Toa might have fought.

Botar leaves an impression just based on how he looks. His build is that of a nightmare creature. I really like Demitsorou's reimagining of him as some sort of angel though. It really fits his vibe.

Since Botar's purpose was to collect the fallen Order members, I wonder if some or all of Barraki originally served the Order.
@heroranuva8295 Жыл бұрын
That's a really interesting idea! Especially in contrast to how Pridak once served the Brotherhood, could create an interesting dynamic there. In strict canon, it seems that they weren't, and possibly didn't even know about the Order before being sent to the Pit. Afterall, Botar brought in not just Order members but also any defeated criminal who was deemed an irredeemable threat to the universe. But I love being flexible with the story for the sake of exploring cool concepts, and at least one of them knowing the broader picture of the Order would be cool. Of the six, I think Ehlek might be an interesting possibility, since it was once said his species was given their claws by the Order

Never thought about Botar that much, but you made a great case for him. Also... thinking about it, yeah, why kill him just to replace him with someone basically identitcal? The idea that he just teleports back from the Red Star is funny though. Wait... what if the replacement ISN'T a replacement but actually Botar? He's just playing a prank on everyone. If he's down to drop Tahtorak on Xia for the lolz, who's to say he's not just trolling everyone to make his job a bit more interesting? :P Also as someone else said here, the way you describe him really does have a Grim Reaper vibe to him.

Botar was probably the only being that sucessfully said "F*ck around and find out, bro!" at Teridax, and for that alone he gets points from me. :D That theory about the Pit made me think, tho: What did the Order do with beings that could teleport, and could just leave the Pit at any time, if neither killing nor imprisoning them was an option? I guess the Makuta becoming Antidermis made that choice easier for them since then the Red Star couldn't revive them anymore anyway, so they just started murdering them if they stepped out of line, like Kojol and Tridax.
@heroranuva8295 Жыл бұрын
Lmao yeah! And you bring up a good point, how would they deal with them? Just speculating, maybe the Pit had some sort of power dampeners. We've seen at least a few times that teleportation powers can be disrupted by certain kinda of energy, and it would make sense to have certain countermeasures, given how powerful many of the beings in Bionicle are

I think it would have been way cooler if Makuta Teridax was simply able to rebuff him, and end their fight with a stalemate. Also, failing to compare his power to other characters would have been a better move, as it would add to the mystique surrounding him. These two alterations together would increase the prestige of Teridax's success more than just killing someone on the same power level.
@heroranuva8295 Жыл бұрын
I don't know, I feel like the mystery added a lot more than knowing his power with certainty. Plus, if there was a character who could fight Makuta to a stalemate like that, it might reduce how threatening Makuta is

The order of Mata Nui will kill members of the order of Mata Nui to keep Artakha secret but won't kill those that are deemed irredeemable.
@heroranuva8295 Жыл бұрын
You know, I actually have a theory as to why that is! I think that its because the Order may have known about the Red Star and its ability to resurrect MU inhabitants, and so they use the Pit for those so irredeemable, they believe that even if they died and came back they would still be a threat (and conversely I think that the resurrection function of the Red Star may have been written there by Greg to provide an explanation for that) Full video on my reasoning here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6eclJp9mbqMoM0
@ryanstephenson7312 Жыл бұрын
@@heroranuva8295 I watched the video way back when, very good. But the body has to be teleported by the red star, if there's no body to teleport then they can't be revived. And Gaardus remembered his life before his resurrection because he recounted it to Kopaka and Pohatu. And the order of Mata Nui also missed the Crafter in their purge. But it's one of those small Bionicle plot holes that we will probably be arguing about till the end of time.
@heroranuva8295 Жыл бұрын
