as your naming what you love about Gravity Falls i realize that maybe my most favorite part of it all is its ability to near perfectly nail a strange balance between that cartoonish immortality that kids shows and cartoons overall are known for and a semi realism, people die, people get hurt and theres real stakes in the end that matter and dont just fizzle out like most kids shows/cartoons not something ive ever realized or thought of before huh interesting

5:55 the creators of the show confirmed in the dvd extras that they didn't plan a lot of the show's major plot points until season two, including old man mcgucket's story. The memory loss gun and the society of the blind eye were conceptualised as an explanation to mcgucket's lunacy. Its actually insane how a lot of the stuff that makes complete sense and seem like they would've been planned way in advance in this show were actually written during season 2.

I think my only problem with the show is how the treated Pacifica. They gave her a redemption episode in the northwest mansion episode, and then did a 180 I'm the finale and she's back to normal. I thought she and dipper had pretty good chemistry, and I feel that would have been a great plot point

Tbh. One of the main reasons why I like this show is : Mabel. She is a sweet, funny, beautiful and kind-hearted girl who loves her brother deeply despite her teasing to him. She values her brother's support. She is a good sister to Dipper who supports him whenever he needs her such as solving mysteries or getting close to Wendy and various sweet things. She also grew as a character and faces the consequences like Dipper and other characters. She is a good girl. Like Dipper, she is also skilled in things such as mini golf, knitting beautiful and colorful sweeters. She is the sweetest girl in the universe.

I feel like my only “issue” with this series is the timing on when some episodes came out, like Roadside Attraction’s placement, it is after The last Mablecorn where it the stakes are the highest they’ve been, and right before the penultimate episode to the final episodes of the series. It’s just weirdly placed but it can be easily overlooked if you watch it in a different place. But it’s still something that bugs me a bit

Great video! Fantastic music choice as well: MHA, Hollow knight, Outer Wilds, Death Note, Mob Psycho, Ori and the Blind Forest, etc. as well as the perfect placement of "Goodbye Gravity Falls" at the end. That track has so much emotional weight, not just because of it's bittersweet tone and callback to the theme motif, but because of what it represents and the memories it brings back of watching the finale for the first time, catching a few tears having to say goodbye to these characters. Every time the next song started playing I would get distracted and have to freak out a little about it, causing me to need to rewind to pay attention to what you were saying xD. I probably looked like an insane person hearing 3 notes of a song and immediately going "YOOOOO this guy gets it!" over and over again. If you can't tell I'm one of those people that exclusively listens to Soundtracks for my music.

Is it "too scary for modern audiences"? Or, is it, according to "episode rankers," just Sub-Par? The character, "Jesus Ramirez" gets more development than "Wendy Corduroy," which has been noted by other fans/critics of "Gravity Falls."

i only have one bigger issue with the series eventhough i loved it. everytime dipper gets into trouble he’s able to use the book to get him out of it in one way or another. there are three books which means that only one third of the mysteries can be found in the third book but other than gideons amulette we see every mystery being solved by dipper and the third book. at least thats how i see it feel free to correct me :)
