I'd say that I love Sonic 2 and 3 equally, but for completely different reasons. Sonic 2 is so fun to just completely blitz through, going as fast as possible. Sonic 3 is so much fun when you explore and take in the levels. They're both designed that way too, so I think the creators did an excellent job at achieving their visions. I do think Sonic 3 takes the edge, just by a little bit. Even if I think Sonic 2 is more fun to replay. Thanks for the video! :D

Sonic 3&k is my favorite classic game by a lot, except for maybe sandopolis i find every zone in the game enjoyable, ESPECIALLY Angel Island, Icecap Zone, and Skysanctuary. Even with sandopolis i still find some of it enjoyable, for example in act 2 when you have to run away from crushing sand, or just turning hyper and blitzing through it. And the fact, that you can unlock not only super form, but also hyper form is just dope as hell. Especially that feeling when you complete all 14 special stages in one run, and you get to experience the ultimate final boss of this game. Now i love both Super Mecha Sonic from knuckles path, and the Doomsday Zone, but accomplishment-wise i felt much better after beating Doomsday Zone, i mean that's the only part where someone can actually somehow hurt my Hyper Sonic, combining that with timer and good music and that's a really great final boss fight. Btw, about the unskippable cutscenes, Sonic 3 A.I.R actually allows you to fastforward them with W key, the only issue with that is that you can also by an accident turn off your super/hyper form, which is a pain if you've got under 50 rings and can't turn back.

@@KrheanosIsland Yeah, Launch Base gets tbh really carried by big arms, which I didn't know at first that it was exclusive to Sonic 3 since A.I.R version is the goat for leaving it there, also couldn't imagine replaying it if not for fastforwarding the cutscenes for gods sake they take way too long, only to get like 2 bosses which are worth fighting. Tbh it's biggest issue is that it's the last zone of Sonic 3, and a middle point in Sonic 3&k, which led to this abomination of a zone

Personally, I think Sonic 2 and 3 are great, but 3 stands out more because it's longer and also tells a little story. That wasn't really the case in Sonic 2. What's more, Sonic 3 is also connected to Sonic and Knuckles and therefore extends the story. The hindering of Knuckles' level against Sonic, then the fight with him and then Death Egg and the story behind the Master Emerald and the other Emeralds actually shows very well that a story is told without words and at the same time the gameplay is very varied and fun.

Frozen base is great tho!!!! ESPECIALLY act 1(the conveyor belts gimmicl is extremely interesting and fun) Also, its one of my favorite levels to speedrun!
