Why I LOVE the 28mm for Street photography!

Over the decades, I have used the following prime lenses on full-frame cameras for one-lens/one body street photography: 21/24/28/35/40/45/50/55mm. The 35 is my personal favorite.

I wonder if you'll come and go from a length. I did a lot of APSC 35mm shooting (52.5 ff equivalent) and even tried the 56mm (84mm full frame equivalent). And I find I love one, then try another, then go back. I >think< I stay closer to 50 because more than capturing a scene, I like to isolate one detail. Loved your point of view.

I think that’s quite natural to go back and forth between the focal lengths. I’m considering buying a 50mm for my Leica 📸🙌🏽

if cash wasn't the issue with the weather sealing sounds like you need to come on home to the q2 and q3m combo :)

I used to hate the 28mm focal length. And then I challenged myself to use one for a month. I felt like a rebel. Like its NOT a 24mm or a 35mm like everyone else uses. And that was it, I fell in love with 28mm and own a dozen different 28's from vintage to new. Now? I dislike using a 24mm or a 35mm. And my Kit basically is 28, 50ish, 85 and 135.

same! I shot a 35 exclusively. Then switched to a 24 for a couple of years. Picked up a 28 a few months ago and haven’t touched the 35 and 24 since.

great video, BUT all those kind of wide angle street photos re childish to me. Somehow just a snap. The king of street focal length is, of course, the fast 50mm. The one and only.
