Why I LOVE the Dodge RamBox

The Ramboxes are the most useful truck thing ever invented, besides the actual truck bed. So useful, and they don't get in the way the way many claim. You are still able to lay a stack of 4x8 sheets of plywood in there. If you have the short bed like mine, you do need to keep the tailgate down, but that has never been an issue. Probably the best part about it is that when you lock your truck with the remote, it locks your boxes and tailgate. Beats the crap out of a regular add on tool box that you have to lock and unlock manually every time.

The RAMBOX option was why I bought my first Dodge in 2012. I use them everyday and try to leave the passenger side one empty for grocery shopping. I even filled one with beer and ice with the drain plugs removed but they are not well insulated and I needed to top off ice a few times a day for that weekend on the lake.

2020 ram box has removable drain plugs to let out the melted ice water after tailgating. Also has a convenient outlet. Most awesome truck ever. I just wish the multifunctional tailgate closed better. You have to practically slam the thing closed to ensure the light turns off

Wow those ram boxes are almost twice the size I thought they were. You really do gain more usable space than you loose. Plus even if you do haul mulch or gravel in the bed. It is going to be a lot easier to clean out not having wheel wells in the way.

I’m switching from a Power Wagon to a Tremor because I tow too much for the gas engine. I’m struggling to find something half as functional as a Rambox with separators. I used to have swing boxes before my PW, but tools would all fall into the bottom. It’s difficult to reach traditional toolboxes. Both just turn into black holes. I have almost every tool imaginable in my Ramboxes, and I know exactly where they all are. There is no competition. I’m at a complete loss what to do with my new truck. At the moment, the only option that seems half as reasonable is a Diamondback cover, but the side boxes have almost no depth. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. I’m at a loss. These are the best add to trucks since the original toolbox. If you get a Ram without them, you would be crazy. Make sure you buy some separators on eBay though.

Yes There are a few manufacturers who have developed racks to fit the Rambox trucks. Vantech makes one (P3000) that slides into the OEM tracks that come standard with the Rambox option. They sell for $520-$599, depending on where you purchase them. Colors are black or silver. They are very easy to put on and take off and have vertical adjustability that is very useful. Love mine!

Is there an option to install cigarette lighter plugs in the boxes to charge batteries of tools, emergency lights or flashlights? Thats the only thing i'm still mission on those. And i like that you have duct tape and WD-40 in there. With those two things NOTHING can go wrong. XD

What a liar. Of course you LOSE SPACE in the bed. Without the Rambox, the bed will hold two additional bales of hay. With that said, Ramboxes are useful enough that my truck has 'em.
