it really amuses me how koreans (foreigners in general) love to stay here in the philippines. they reminded me to love my own country and appreciate the good sides instead of minding only the bad sides because every country has it own issues and problems

What i noticed about koreans here in the philippines they dont bother to talk to their fellow koreans when they meet in the streets, malls, schools etc unless they are close friends....unlike us filipinos no matter where you go even in the edge of the world if they learned that he/ she is a filipino they are happy to talk to each other even they are both strangers...

its a culture thing.. we pilipinos are a tight family unit.. we prioritize family more than anything so if we see fellow pilipino abroad its like talking to a long loss family member.. even though were never meet before

I was touched in this video seriously.. especially in the part where you said you want to learn more and adapt to the filipino ways. i am a big fan of kdramas and always been curious how is life in korea and how much korean life and people are better than philippines but after hearing your experiences I am almost teary eyed because I didn’t appreciate much the lifestyle and filipino culture that I live in. I thought its always better in other countries, I always complain about the traffic, dirt, weather and poverty in philippines. Not knowing a korean like you really loves the life here. How I wish I could meet you because I have always been interested in korean culture ever since I got hooked on kdramas and I see some similarities in their culture to the filipino culture and much better. What I envy in korean life is right in front of me everyday its just that I don’t appreciate it.. Thank you for sharing this video.

this video was 4 years ago and your recent videos show that your love for our country has deepened as the years went by. thank you very much for loving our beautiful country and its friendly people. i hate foreigners who use their experiences in our country to attract filipino viewers in order to make a lot of money without really having a genuine affection for the philippines. but you didn't give me that impression; that's why i love you and your vlogs and it's good to know that i'm not alone in feeling that way coz you now have a million subscribers.

Your teachers did a very good job of teaching you English and outrightly so you should be very thankful. The way you speak and express yourself is not atypical of a Korean anymore as generally those from Korea are not really English speakers and a lot will travel here just to study the language. But then here you are presenting and expressing yourself clearly as a very eloquent and fluent wielder of the English language as though you were born to speak it. Your 7 years here did you well and as a Filipino I am quite happy that a spiritual bond between you and the Philippines has evolved you into what you are now. You are no longer a Korean but a KOREANOY which frankly speaking there's now a large population residing here calling the Philippines their home permanently or as a second one. Endearingly you will be called as another pambansang krung-krung just like the famous Korean adopted daughter of the Philippines Sandara Park. Keep it up, we support you and appreciate your love for everything Philippines!

I really enjoyed listening to the reasons why you love the Philippines. I left the Philippines when I was 2, so I never experienced what you did and feel somewhat sad because growing up in the United States is so different, nature, weather, tropical fruits, people, spirit of the holidays are all something I missed growing up here. Money and fame are what most Americans strive to achieve, so that family, neighborly bond gets washed away at times. That’s why listening to your experiences, of how different and fun filled it was for you is really inspiring. Thank you for sharing!

When I was a kid I lived about a kilometer away from the city proper, from my house on the way to school, my friends/classmates and I would pass by so many different kinds of fruits. During their fruit-bearing season, my friends would literally just grab (steal, Lol), except the caimitos and coconuts which required long sticks. The other fruits were bananas, star apple, mangoes, santol, eva ( very sour), guyabanos, guavas, and chicos. Durian is rare in Tubigon , Bohol. Of the list, chicos was and still is my favorite to this day but theyre hard to find.

I really appreciate your videos and all your positive comments about the Philippines and Filipinos. I am Filipino and I have been living here in America for almost 25 years. Since I first came to live here (because of my husband’s job) what has always turned me off were Filipinos who talked negatively about our country. I became more Filipino when I came to live here and always talked positively of our country and culture because I did not want to be like them. I have a good life here but the Philippines is home. I am very excited to be coming home for good in less than two years! Thank you for your wonderful blogs, Jessica.

The way you seriously engage with the activities of the Filipino community is actually rare for a Korean like you back in the times I was in my home country. Now, I'm not sure since there are a lot of Koreans that are already living and studying there. Thank you for appreciating and enjoying the Philippines and the people in our land. Yes, it's always amazing to show the things that are more tangible and perceived by our senses but I guess describing things to people that fill your soul and give you a room to grow professionally and personally is something special. Jessica! This video makes me want to go back home. I grew up in Bacolod and went to CAB. In grade 3 I would walk to LaSalle eat Bananaque and drink coke, and also envy lasalle since it wad such a cool big school! This video is totally crazy since I started to tear up when you mentioned Sipalay. My family always went there to takatuka to snorkel, and it was just amazing. I left the Philippines when I just turned 9, but I am grateful to still know ilonggo (and a little bit of tagalog, thanks to watching teleseryes with my yaya). I'm so glad that I saw this video, because it feels like I've found a friend in you. Even though it's distant, I've had dreams of becoming an idol as well, but being a 19 year old in Australia, i think ill just stick to what the jobs here have to offer :P. Hope you have a great time! I went to Bacolod in 2012 to visit, and i miss it too much. So many korean-style cafe's in robinson's? Anyway. Take care girl, you are working so hard! Fighting!!

Not sure if you have been to Surigao-a must visit too. Now that you mentioned it, I truly took it for granted-the sites, the skies😣...even food😣. About marriage in the Philippines, some couples invite fewer guests to meet their budget. It's hard to manage the number of guests when they have a lot of friends and relatives. In other regions in the province, guests comes from different baranggays and they attend even they don't know the bride or groom. It could take 3days to feed people who keeps on coming by batch. 😂
