I'm an LA transplant in Oakland. You'll love the fans. This place has its problems and it isn't as glamourous as SF or other big cities I've lived in, but I've never seen the grass roots passion that I've seen in Oakland. And for a team run by people who actively despise them.

After that it will be back to my regular team because no point following the Sac/LV/Utah/Portland or whatever location they are in A's.

My parents were from Philly, their first date was an A's game in 48. My mom's all time favorite A's player was Wally Moses. The A's came to Oakland while I was an 8 year old growing up in Fremont. I left the Bay Area for Alaska in 81, but my brother worked for the A's organization from 83 through 94, he always had tickets for me when I came back to town for the World Series. My kids grew up going to A's Spring Training every Spring break from Alaska for a week of autographs and chasing foul balls.I LOVE baseball, I've umped over 200 games L.L. to Legion Ball and coached Little League teams to District Championship games. I've watched or listened to dam near every A's game since the internet began streaming them. I will not be following the A's or MLB once the A's play their last game in Oakland.

A fried said, "There are no such thing as bad markets, only bad owners." Although stadiums can play a role (if the Phoenix Coyotes' first arena didn't have obstructed view seats, they wouldn't have suffered through their arena circus), it's all about who controls the purse strings. Oakland has had large crowds, and a Coliseum day game pre-Mount Davis must have been a great afternoon out, but those fans have been treated poorly. It reminds me of the Montreal Expos and, where I live, the Seattle Supersonics.

Man, I can’t wait for John Fisher to bring his franchise to Vegas in 2028. I don’t know so I can perform the Welcome Las Vegas A’s tribute. With any luck, I’ll be able to give John Fisher a handshake and a hug, of course I’ll say thanks John. I’m so happy that Fisher is leaving Oakland, I’m strongly considering building a statue of this man. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised in 2055, if the Vegas and some of the national media will be talking about this as one of the best relocations ever, that few wanted.
